Everything! The property has been sympathetically & beautifully renovated to an exceptionally high standard. So comfortable & relaxing. Teri, the host, made us so welcome, greeting us with cream scones & tea on arrival. Breakfast is a real treat with lots of choice, from cereal & seeds to fresh prepared fruit & yoghurt & croissants. Then there is the prepared to order cooked options. Delicious! There's an excellent pub in the village, serving very good lunches/ evening meals, easily within walking distance of the Cross.

Having to leave! There really was nothing that could have been improved.

What a wonderful little gem of a place this proved to be. Terry is so welcoming and helpful. Rooms superbly well appointed, all very stylishly designed - interior design goals right here!! Breakfast was fabulous, there wasn't anything we couldn't have, and food was plentiful, well cooked and HOT! The teenagers in our group were super happy with the huge croissants and copious amounts of Nutella. Having a little lounge for guests and an honesty bar was a brilliant touch and we made good use of both. Really felt like a home from home!!! Especially with Digby the cat (who is actually a neighbours cat and not Terry's as we had thought - oops) making himself at home in our rooms. Head to The George, only a few metres down the road for good pub grab and a warm, friendly welcome.

There is not one thing we didn't like...even if I really try hard to think of something.

Gorgeous old building in ideal location for many places of interest, with wonderful friendly and helpful landlady and staff. We had a great stay, our room (Chew) was perfect for a couple with a teenager (or two). Comfortable beds and lovely powerful walk in shower, and our own steps down to a pretty courtyard garden with a well stocked honesty bar. Breakfast was perfect - lovely selection of fruit, cereal, juice, and yoghurt, followed by hot breakfast cooked exactly as you want it, to order. Absolutely nothing to fault, everything was great and we had a lovely holiday in a beautiful part of the country.

Can't think of anything.

We arrived a little late into the evening but Terri was there to welcome us. We were travelling with young children and Terri made us feel welcome. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic and really set us up for our trip to Longleat Safari park. My father in law was staying in a different b&b which he wasn’t impressed with and unfortunately the Cross was fully booked. This didn’t stop Terri from trying to help us find alternative accommodation for him, this was so appreciated. I would definitely recommend the cross and have already sent a few friends the details to stay. Well done Terri, we will definitely be back!

Terri is a really friendly host and made us feel very welcome. A cup of tea and gluten free scones on arrival were very welcome. The rooms we had were lovely and the kitchen attached to our room would be very useful if staying for a few days. Quality bedding and comfy beds. Breakfast was great and we all enjoyed it.

The only slight downside was that one of our rooms was downstairs and near the front door. One group came in later in the evening and got drinks from the honesty bar which did wake me but this would not not stop me staying again. Nothing the host can do if guests are a little inconsiderate.

My second time staying in this delightful b&b. The family room was spacious and had a double bedded room and separate twin bedded room sharing a bathroom between them. The decor is just lovely. Such a friendly owner and an fantastic breakfast. The village is very picturesque and an ideal base to explore the beautiful Somerset countryside or in our case to get a good nights sleep after Glastonbury Festival. Highly recommended

The host was very welcoming and I was offered refreshments when I arrived which was a lovely surprise. There was a wonderful spread for breakfast and the cooked option was cooked beautifully and in good time. I loved that I got a pot of tea at breakfast all to myself to enjoy, not just a single cup of tea. Also, there was a good choice of drinks available at the little bar if I had wanted anything during my stay. My room and en suite was clean, peaceful and beautiful. The sitting room and dinning area were spotless and comfy and I loved the old features of the building and atmosphere of the place. The ancient village of Croscombe is very pretty and even though the The Cross is on the main road through the village, it was not noisy. It was an easy, short drive of all of 10 minutes drive to Wells during the day.

We had a wonderful Christmas at The Cross and Terri was an absolute perfect host, nothing was too much trouble and it was really lovely to be greeted with a fresh cup of tea and freshly made homemade mince pies when we arrived. Always with a lovely smile, Terri always checked with us to see if there was anything further we needed and we wanted for nothing. It felt as if we were at home and being spoilt rotten. We stayed in the apartment and it was absolutely perfect for us and our disabled adult son and to entertain our family as well for a few nights who live in Wells. The breakfast was superb, the service was excellent and the food was fresh cooked and delicious. I had fruit and yogurt as well which was also perfectly ripe and superb. Thanks Terri from all 3 of us for a wonderful magical stay over Christmas and we will definitely be returning. Best wishes Carol & Brendan

Lovely, friendly welcome from Terri, who was then kind enough to book us a meal at the local pub. The accommodation was beautifully decorated, the bedroom was large, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent ( and Terri caterd for all our food allergies fantastically)!! Highly recommend 👌
