Hotel in an excellent location, very clean.

DOGS allowed in every area where guests are eating, waitresses patting dogs then serving meals, very unhygienic, not acceptable to most people. We were given what appeared to be a room for disabled guests, not happy with that, hand basin too low for us,shower inside bath.We are regular guests at the Seaburn Inn and have never had any of these problems before.I was considering staying again within the next two weeks but am seriously concerned about our last experience.

I stayed with my sister on the way to a family funeral and we loved the log burning stove and the friendly professional staff. The rooms were very warm and comfortable. On a very cold day the hotel was a lovely warm haven. Absolutely brilliant.

There were far too many dogs in the hotel, I am allergic to dogs and this is never considered. I also don't think it very hygienic to have dogs in the bar/restaurant area. They are not allowed in supermarkets where most of the food is packaged for hygiene reasons, so why are they allowed in hotels where the food is open?

Choice of breakfast - continental and cooked - was excellent. The venue overlooks the sea front and it is great to be able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. We enjoyed many walks along the coast and enjoyed drinks and food in the bar while meeting friends and family. The staff are friendly and efficient which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. This was a popular spot over a sunny bank holiday weekend, and it is no wonder, given its excellent location and great service.

Not applicable - there was nothing not to like about the hotel!

The setting, with a wonderful view from our balcony over the sea. The room was very clean and cosy and well stocked with tea and coffee. Good size bathroom. The restaurant is attractively decorated with a seafaring theme. We had very good fish and chips, and the service was prompt. Pleasant staff.

Not really a complaint, but I would have liked to have seen a few healthier meal choices on the restaurant menu. Maybe some fresh fish given the location? The breakfast choice was very good, and we enjoyed the freshly cooked eggs on toast. Excellent choice of fresh fruit and cereals. But, the mini croissants etc were overcooked and dry. It would also be helpful to label the milk dispenser. In the continental section, I think platters of thinly sliced cheeses and meats would be more appetising than piled up small plates.

The hotel and room were lovely. The balcony with the sea views was lovely. The location was very convenient. The staff were brilliant. And the atmosphere of the whole hotel was absolutely spot on. And the car park was an absolute blessing too - knowing my car was in a safe place.

The evening meal and the breakfast were comical portions. The evening meal I chose a traditional fish and chips, but in all honesty, I could've had better fish and chips at a local chippy. The breakfast was child size, mushrooms weren't available so had to do without, and the black pudding... I was given a half black pudding!!! Somebody actually went to the trouble to cut in half a slice of fried black pudding to put on my plate ... that was comical !!!

We stayed for 3 nights bed and breakfast in Room 209 on the second floor, with a spacious balcony over looking the sea. A nice sized room with lots of facilities including a nice sized wall mounted smart tv. A king sized bed which was extremely comfortable indeed. A small compact bathroom with a shower cubicle. The only downside being that the heated towel rail didn’t work and perhaps should have been picked up by housekeeping prior to our arrival. Disappointingly it was not possible to repair it during our stay. The balcony has a nice metal table and chairs allowing you to sit out and watch the world go by. it was interesting that if you decide not to have your room serviced they give you a free drink in the bar. There is a large free car park at the rear. The breakfast is extremely good. A superb full english served by friendly and jovial staff members. plenty of alternatives to choose from. The food in the restaurant was interesting. slightly too expensive, I think for what the menu offers and on the night we dined as a four the chips and the battered fish we too dark for my liking perhaps suggesting the cooking oil needed changing. I had made this judgement having the previous night had fish on the seafront from a vey reputable fish and chip shop where the fish was beautifully cooked and golden brown in colour. The next visit we will look for room 311 on the 3rd floor with a wrap around balcony overlooking the sea. Overall a great stay..if your looking at the nearby grand Hotel, don’t, stay here it’s much nicer all round.

if I was to be critical it is that the road outside the property is sometimes used a race track by “boy racers” both cars and motorbikes. difficult for the hotel to have any input but perhaps the police should be made aware.

I love the area as I grew up there- I lived in Whitburn village so the area holds many happy memories for me. I’ve lived away from the area since I was 24 years old, but I love coming home I used to come about 3 times a year but now as I’m getting older- I’m 80 in September, I come about once a year. I’ve no family there now ,but I see old friends - we were students together so have known each other for 60 years. The Northeast holds a special place in my heart.

Nothing whatsoever

it was beautifully located, the sea view is a must and fantastic to wake up to! The bars decor is very quaint and well thought out and made us stay on site the whole night. The voucher book in our room was a lovely surprise and a great thought at a time when money can be tight!

Unfortunately the breakfast was quite poor, I had a full English but it was a bit dry and missing the sausage, my partner had a bacon and sausage roll which was in a gigantic bun that had been burned and contained only 1 sausage and 2 bits of bacon. It was very disappointing after a lovely stay and I was glad it was included in the price of the stay. We could hear music from the stack next door until quite late on but it was a Saturday so to be expected really.

Loved the room style, restaurant and bar was amazing beautiful in design and atmosphere. Staff were very kind and professional and very helpful. We don't live far from this hotel/bar/restaurant, but due to the look and luxury we decided to give it a go, and so glad we did. Our time together is limited due to childcare and work, and it was worth every penny and minute spent here. Cannot wait till we can re book!

This is isint really a dislike, more of a helpful comment, for any future customers not aware. When you pay for the balcony room you expect, with its price and quality, to find that it only has a shower and no bath, bit of a disappointed feeling, yes I knew when I booked, but for the price and best room I do think their should be a bath, due to the family room only having a bath, as a couple, that room wouldn't be our option.

The location was great. The beach was over the road and there’s a great music/food venue next door. The cooked breakfast was good.

The radiators. we were woken up at 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00 by a horrendous banging sound coming from the heating system. it turned out to be the thermostat value which went on and off like a hammer drill. At 4:00 we turned the value up full and it stopped the problem, but it was too hot in the room. After a really bad night sleep we reported it to the staff and a maintenance chap took a look. he said there was nothing wrong, but they gave us another room. The same thing happened, so I turned off the radiator. this seemed to work out okay - a bit colder, but at least we slept. The Sunday morning breakfast was chaotic. I think the staff were over-ran by customers and there were a lot of things missing including food, cutlery and plates.
