The breakfast was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful thorughout. My room was comfortable, and I'd really struggle to find any suggestions for improvement here.

Really struggling to find a problem, but the one improvement I'd suggest is better signage and/or lighting for out-of-hours access to our room. We arrived back after the restaurant had closed, and finding the right door into the courtyard in the dark and rain was tricky. I'd also had a drink or two (or three?), so open to the idea that some of the difficulty may have been self-inflicted...

Our room was beautiful and spacious and the pub and food were excellent.

Some of the staff did not seem very happy when we approached them and therefore the interactions were not great. They were fine, but not great. At one point, I came to the bar to see what spirits were available so I could order....as it turns out, my server came and stood next to me so I advised what I would like, but was told in a very surly manner by a manager that it was all table service! I had to point out that I was only looking, but my server happened to be beside me at the bar, so I told her what I wanted. The lady who told me off was still not pleased with me and made it quite obvious...which was unfortunate as everybody else really tried hard.

The Suite layout with TV in separate lounge with settee. Perfect after a long day. Late night Italian Small Plates were a tasty snack after a heavy lunch. Excellent glass of Vouvray.

Let down by tired looking bathroom. Chipped toilet seat and very amateur repairs to bath sealing strip. Breakfast spoilt by having everything served together. As a result both hot chocolate and scrambled egg with smoked salmon were stone cold once the excellent muesli and yoghurt had been eaten. Amateurish. Finally signage of Half Moon car park was invisible when approaching from the West. As a result we turned into a narrow lane just beyond the Half Moon in error and reversing out again was decidedly difficult. Staff ignored my comments. But we did enjoy our stay!!

We travelled for a family party, and occupied all of the 4 rooms available. When returning from the party the pub/restaurant were fully booked however they managed to accommodate us with dinner and drinks. We stayed in the room above the pub was surprised to see a little living room area with tv and fridge. The Ground Coffee, Fresh Milk and Ferrero Roche were a nice touch. Also to have a bath robe each was pleasing, I took my hairdryer but noticed there was a decent one in the wardbrobe. Breakfast was lovely, nicely cooked and great service,

My only criticism would be the shower, it wasnt very powerful, however perfectly fine for one or two nights.

Spacious and very comfortable room with large en suite bathroom. We enjoyed the extra seating area and the huge very comfortable bed. The cafetiere with jar of ground coffee, plus the selection of teas and the thermos of fresh milk were all much appreciated. The cannoli in the jar were a nice touch. Food in the restaurant and at breakfast (really good omelettes!) was excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. We had a lovely stay!

We had booked into The Hayloft room initially but on arrival, although the room itself was beautiful, we were disappointed with the downstairs wet room and asked to be moved. The manager kindly agreed to let us have one of the Abbey Cottage rooms instead.

A true find. Could not have been more central to the sites of interest of the town. Very spacious room with a good bathroom with excellent facilities. Welcoming items in the room included freshly ground coffee in a sealed jar and delicious filled and coated brandysnaps. We were invited to join the monthly quiz. Great fun and local teams made us welcome. Good breakfast in the morning with variety on offer with a focus on local produce. Evening meal was very good and also unusual with tapas-style dishes of Italian style cooking. Recommended. We shall return.

Lovely welcoming, helpful staff. Beautiful character room - the Hayloft - with lots of style and space. Excellent breakfast - one of the best omelettes I've ever had. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved the courtyard garden - sitting out with a glass of wine was bliss!

Loo and shower were on ground floor with bedroom above - not very convenient. I could not get shower to work (although my husband did), and loo flush variable.

Friendly staff, so very helpful, excellent accommodation. The breakfast was superb, delicious, nothing was too much trouble and really great portions. The evening meal was also excellent, really lovely. The location was just what we wanted, in this lovely town and the garden is beautifully decorated and welcoming.

There really is nothing that we didn't like.

The location was great, service amazing and the rooms were lovely and well equipped - but best of all was the food! We ate in the restaurant in the evening and thoroughly enjoyed the Italian meal we had - what a great idea, perfectly executed! Similarly breakfast the next morning was delicious and the attention to detail faultless - well done and thank you for a memorable stay

For me our bed was a bit too soft, but our friends had a very comfy night's sleep

Great location opposite the abbey - and we were not disturbed by the bells. Very quirky place with lots of history. Lovely room with huge bathroom. Nice touch was fresh milk in the fridge for our morning cup of tea. Staff in the restaurant were really welcoming. Fantastic breakfast and the tapas in the evening were so good. Sherborne is a delightful town with lovely independent shops to browse in.
