Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff all round. Delicious food. We each had a different dish every night and each one was yummy. Menu is meat heavy with some interesting South African specialites. Location is absolutely fabulous! Center of town. Next to Cathedral and Cathedral Close. We walked everywhere. Car park is ~ 300m around the corner.

We visited during an extreme heatwave. Had all the windows open. Property is on a street corner with traffic lights. Noisy under these circumstances. There's secondary glazing. So shouldn't be a problem at another time of year.

The Chapter House benefits from being a boutique hotel with only 17 rooms. This was our second stay at the hotel and we were even more delighted with our stay than on our last visit. There is no doubt that it is the staff that make this hotel exceptional: attention from manager Stephan was exemplary; and Nico remembered us with great affection from our last visit a year ago! The popularity of the restaurant is seen in the number of guests who eat here every evening. There is no doubt that the hotel is ‘quirky’ - the age of the building is clearly seen in every corner. However, the owners have really taken the trouble to make every visitor welcome and appreciated; and the staff could not have been more helpful. We shall return! There is no elevator, which will be a problem for people with limited mobility; and not all the rooms have the space and furnishings that we enjoyed. The lack of air conditioning may be a problem in the summer months (although the owners take the trouble to put fans in each room); but nothing can detract from living in this hotel so full of character.

A silly observation, but the dining tables - which are meticulously cleaned for each new set of guests - have a ‘sticky’ feel because of the disinfectant used. Simple quality paper tablecloths would eliminate this criticism; and would be welcomed as a legitimate extra charge on the bill from at least this customer and his wife. There are no other criticisms. We chose to make our return stay to Salisbury in this particular hotel and we were not disappointed.

Characterful old property (although some accommodation rooms are in the modern annex accessed via the internal courtyard). Staff were extremely friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. No car parking onsite, use Brown Street West public parking (2min walk away) and the hotel can give you a 24hr resident/guest pass for £8.00 (JustPark site next to hotel is run by Mercure nearby). Within 5mins walk of the centre of Salisbury's town square, shops and restaurants. Comfortable and nicely furnished room, good choice of hot and cold breakfast included. Aged steaks viewable in the restaurant's chiller looked very tempting but we'd booked to dine at Allium on the square.

Nothing that the hotel could be held responsible for, but we stayed in early Sept 2023 during a "mini heatwave" so the room was very warm (even with the window open and Dyson Cool air fan running). Open window meant noise from nearby building site and hotel's courtyard were more noticable than would have otherwise been the case.

Lovely historic inn with crooked stairs and twisty hallways. The location in the city was great for easy access to the sites. The staff at the Chapter House were amazing. The whole crew was hustling the entire time we were there. We happened to be in Salisbury for a couple of BLAZINGLY hot days and the Chapter House (like so many other historic properties) has no AC. The staff got fans for every room, set up fans in the dining room and bar area and did all that they could to keep everyone comfortable. We appreciated their efforts. The room was comfortable (although not terribly spacious) and the in room amenities were nice. We had a family room for the 3 of us (2 adults, 1 child). The food at the restaurant was also very good and they do a lovely breakfast. Definitely recommend.

We had an awesome stay at The Chapter House. While the building itself has a long history, the facilities inside the room are well maintained. We like especially the shower which has very good water pressure and temperature. The breakfast here is phenomenal. There are lots of choices and food is great. The staff are all friendly and willing to help. We came for our honeymoon and they added some romantic touch to our room. I would highly recommend The Chapter House!

The wall is quite thin and we can easily hear others next to us. However, during bed time, it’s quiet and we did not hear noise from our neighbours.

The staff & the running of the establishment was fine. The breakfast & dinner & the service was great. Our room was disappointing ( not the bed or bedding ,nor the bathroom facilities). The courtyard we crossed to get to the steps was fine but we felt that we were on an emergency staircase ( & wondered if some elderly folk would make to the top without pausing as it is very steep ) Then when we reached the room the view from the window was very disappointing, not just the apartments opposite which could ,& did ,look into our room but the washing line full of washing & general feeling of unkempt ness !! Then on top of this to discover the price of £170 each per night ! Too much for this view !

Sorry have added dislikes to the likes !

Perfect hotel. The location could not be any better you are literally opposite the cathedral. We parked at the car park suggested and had no issues and only a short walk away. The staff are so pleasant and friendly. The hotel is so beautiful and clean with a really great warm atmosphere. The room was beautiful and much bigger than expected. The bed was HUGE and so comfy! So much storage and we had the best view. Found the walls really thick didn't hear any other guests. The building is so full of history it's fascinating. Breakfast was delicious. Would recommend this hotel to anybody going to Salisbury.

Everything! The team at The Chapter House were excellent. The food was fantastic and the choice at breakfast was second to none. we had an wonderful couple of days in Salisbury and are so pleased we changed the date of our trip to stay at this unique property.

Nothing to dislike although I do feel the stairs deserve a mention here but only for the ‘less able’ visitor. They are very higgledy piggledy and slope in every possible direction, this for us was all part of the charm in staying in such an historic building however I can imagine some people may struggle with this

The hotel has the charm of a 500 year old property, but with modern amenities. It is in a convenient and quiet location - right close to the Cathedral close. At reception, they oriented us to the property, including warning us of the wonky uneven stairwell. The room was clean, bed very comfortable and the bathroom very spacious. They allowed us to store out luggage before and after check in while we did our sightseeing. The breakfast that was included was also very nice! We stayed for just one night, but had a lovely visit.

The radiators are quite old and started to howl in the middle of the night. Once we figured out what was making the noise, we were able to quiet it. Also, they should include the wifi information in the room - we couldn't find this - but easily got it from the reception downstairs.

Both the evening meal and cooked breakfast were delicious and well presented with excellent service all round. Great location for seeing the sights (Cathedral in particular) and central Salisbury. Lovely hotel and whilst no on site parking, a good subsidised arrangement in an adjacent public car park was perfectly sufficient. A lovely stay in a very well run hotel.

Room very small but only to be expected in a quirky and listed building. Stairs a bit of a nightmare with a large and heavy case, but assistance was provided.
