Cliveden Guest House

A lovely atmosphere, Assorted with some friendly guests as well . Made the stay fantastic, Exceptional breakfast also with viki and ian sharing a hand in the cooking So with the location split between both the shops and the sea front , and plenty of ways to travel You can choose between a restful time, or go to varies places for fun.

The only thing you won`t like is if it rains

You can expect a very warm & friendly welcome. Very clean & airy room with beds that were ideal, not too soft or hard. 4 min walk to the beach. Everything you need is in a 10 min walk ( no need to drive ), train station, bus station, cinema, restaurants, cafes, pubs & bars. If you're into steam trains, then you're in luck, about 6 mins away is the famous Paignton steam train, which is a good way to see the coast. I was really surprised by the large selection of cooked breakfast items, as well as fruit, cereals, fruit juice, spreads, toast , all cooked to your liking. After a long drive down the atmosphere & vib the owners give you is like coming home. Nothing was to much trouble & I was really shocked that there was no noise pollution, even with the fair not far away. I would definitely stay there again.

Super host, got locked out of my room & she dealt with the situation in a polite & speedy manner. Breakfast was great,it was a pre order system where you could have 2 of everything if you wanted to. 2 eggs,2 sausages,bacon etc etc. Service was quick even when the dining area was busy. Parking was a bonus as there is enough room for 6 cars on site . Unbeatable value for money £50 a night overall a lovely little break.

Fabulous stay. Great,happy fun hosts. Met on arrival and help with bags. Great meeting and chatting to the other guests too,sharing our days out. Close to everything. Did not want to come home. Weather was fab, will be back in spring and summer i hope.x

Only thing was no clean mugs each day, a bit difficult to wash in sink👍

I don't think my review will do this guest house justice, I will say the usual thing like it was clean, location great, warm hospitality but to say the owners go above and beyond would be an understatement, they made us feel like we were visiting rather than paying guests. We would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was served with a smile, cooked lovely and plenty of choice, in a relaxed atmosphere. Room was large, with nice seating to relax. Beds were comfy, with nice bedding. Extremely clean. Lots of extras in the room, nice dressing gowns, slippers, and the bathroom had all you needed, even flannels.

It was all perfect.

We love everything about The Cliveden, it was our second visit. The decor is lovely the breakfast is fantastic and the hosts are superb! The location is great being so near to the beach and the town and the parking is an added bonus.

Excellent little B&B. Fabulous breakfast with quality ingredients and great choice. Vicky and Ian are great hosts - nothing is too much trouble. Little extras in the room, which you very rarely see in other B&Bs, such as fresh drinking water, hot chocolate, sewing kit, choice of teas. Very comfy bed. Very near to train station and bus stops. Five minute walk to shops.

Can't think of anything I didn't like.

Lovely place, superb location and run by a delightful couple. Everything has been thought of and you couldn't want for a thing. The breakfasts are the best we've had with a great selection, the bedlinen and towels are immaculate and the bed was extremely comfy. The location is a hop, skip and a jump from the beach and the high street, there's a sun trap front garden to sit in, free off street parking and wifi included and it's very quiet. We were totally addicted to the homemade shortbread biscuits that were refreshed every day along with the hot drink selection and water. Toiletries are provided along with a hairdryer, make up mirrors, first aid and sewing kits. All in all we could have moved in. Can't wait to return! Wonderful! Can't recommend enough!

Clean and well maintained breakfast superb and lots of it.

We didn't have en-suite but our own private bathroom and they provided slippers and dressing grown so they thought of ways to compensate for not having one of the 2 rooms that wasn't en-suite.
