Station Inn

Stayed here for a night previous to collecting a hired campervan for the rest of our holiday. Had dinner in restaurant part then moved into main pub for quiz night. Food was excellent and good value. Good menu, something for the whole family and all was tasty and well prepared. Good beer on tap and other drinks fairly priced. Breakfast was included with our room, in the pub again, and was delicious, exactly as we had asked for and a great meal to start the day. Staff were brilliant. Friendly and professional. Room was large enough to easily accomodate 2 singles and the double we required. Many thanks to all at the Station.

Warm welcome, friendly staff. Accommodation is in separate building to the pub so no noise (not that it's a noisy pub whatsoever). Good food, good choice of breakfast. Very large room with plenty of space, good size bathroom. Plenty of tea and coffee and I'm sure they would supply more if needed. Plenty of parking. Would definitely book again.

A few bits need updating/fixing, but pub changing hands in next few days so suspect there was a freeze on spending. We had an issue with the bed, but to be totally fair and to credit to them, we mentioned the issue, and it was fixed and had no impact on us.

They do not have early breakfast (breakfast start from 8:30am). My 4 years old daughter really enjoy the stay there as they have play ground for young children. Suitable place for my Coast to Coast bike ride stop for the night.

A bit pricey, I guess, it is a bit touristy and Historical place I assume. The toilet not function very well due to blockage where we need to use the restaurant toilet - this because they cannot get plumber in due to public holiday.

Great location for both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Wonderfully dog friendly with a very spacious room. Can walk along "The Helm" directly across the road which is a great little walk with lovely views. We had dinner one night and it was good traditional pub food.

Would be nice to have fruit available for breakfast in addition to the cereal and full cooked breakfast options.

We had the family room and both the double and the single beds were very comfortable. There was a bath with a shower over it so both of us were happy. The room was large. We didn't arrive until 10pm so we didn't eat there but the pub and restaurant looked great.

We booked bed and breakfast through booking.com but the owner has only just taken over a month before and they weren't actually doing breakfast until September. They had repeatedly told booking.com but we weren't informed.

we were told by staff on check-in that we could eat in the pub up to 8pm, only to be told 'no you can't eat here I'm too busy' by the bartender, at 6:30pm and walked off. Luckily there was a pub a few minutes down the road which we had a lovely tea at, accommodated us even though they were also very busy

We just stayed the one night on our journey north but it was a pleasant stay in a comfortable old world inn with a good, friendly bar and good food. Being out of a city, there are good walks nearby to stretch your legs and get some fresh air after a long drive.

Couldn't get the TV to work but that could have been us! Other than that, no negatives.

The accommodation and the evening meal. They were excellent. The bedroom was spacious and very well-appointed. As requested, our bed was larger than mere double and very comfortable. The bathroom was also excellent with plenty of fluffy, soft towels, a good shower and a bath. We both enjoyed our evening food : my homemade slice of steak pie was truly delicious as well as the chips. The service was friendly and efficient. Good atmosphere, a place obviously appreciated by the locals. We would stay there again on our travels.

The breakfast : my poached egg was broken and there was water swimming on my plate. It spoilt the rest of my breakfast, but i didn't complain as we needed to get on our way. I didn't like the fried bread which I didn't eat as it is unhealthy and old-fashioned: we haven't been given that for about 20 years! It seemed like they were short-staffed that morning and that the lady serving was rushed off her feet.

The evening meal was fantastic, the staff were very friendly throughout our stay, and the room was lovely. Quiet, comfortable and very spacious. I have stayed here several times before and will definitely be returning. It is also in a great location, close to the M6 and the lakes.

Not a complaint, just something to bare in mind, our room was very hot in the evening and throughout the night. The heating is very effective, but we didn't try to turn it down so I'm not complaining.

We only spent one night, but it had everything we needed and was very inviting and comfortable. The room was huge and was very clean with lots of storage if you were having a longer stay. Lots of free parking and there are resident alpacas! The Helm is a nature reserve located across the road, and gives a lovely walk with some fantastic views from the summit and some friendly native Fell ponies. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and made with high quality ingredients. Our room faced the outdoor beer garden which I thought would have been noisy, but it had good soundproofing and didn't cause an issue at all.

The WiFi signal wasn't great in the room and often dropped out
