The Saracens Head Hotel

Kc and Jeorgie were the main reason we stayed their professionalism,friendliness ,helpful and communication was exquisite and they are very hard workers and greatly appreciated. They gave us very good advice on where to go how to use the trains and different stuff they cared and made sure the happiness of their customers.

The place was a little older, the shower sprayed the floor and a few of the older staff were a little rude and not personable.The hotel is actually 45 minutes from actual London city center I was confused from the airport name and thought I was in the middle of London!!

Room was lovely and clean. Staff were really nice. The location is perfect. I enjoyed the breakfast. I had Avocado and egg one dey and scrambledegg with smoked salmon fo two mornings, very nice and tasty! We also had a Sunday roast dinner and it was exceptional 👌 😋 x

Sunday night we had an early night. We wanted to watch TV but the remote control was for a Samsung and our TV was an LG so we could not use them for volume control and picture settings we couldn't really relax and watch from the bed as we had to keep manually looking which wad a faff. However, we dont ho away to watch TV so it wasn't a hugh issue but itvwould have been nice ifbthey worked. 459.00 for a room you expect all the gadgets to work 😀

Location. Parking. Comfy bed. Good breakfast. Good value for money.

The dirt on the bathroom floor that I thought was a huge spider, but was a clump of somebody else's hair... Dust around the electrical sockets obviously not cleaned. Fire doors all over left open. The heating didn't seem to work. The bath slippery at the end where you get out to the bathroom floor (no non slip tread in the bath there just the shower end). The shower where turn on at the wall had all come apart so not easiest to use. The shower head rose needs a good clean, all orange with scale. Couldn't read the 3 bottles on shower wall, presumably shower gel, shampoo, conditioner but couldn't read them. Not enough milk supplied. Only managed 1 coffee. Ran out of milk at breakfast, staff had to go to local shop to buy milk!!

This is our 4th time staying here each time a lovely room do ecommend to upgrade to a suite or junior suite these are very spacious and have very good bathroom facilities Staff very friendly expecially reception who was very polite This is an old building with great character very good amenities Wonderful breakfast and very good food and bar available

Just building work around but was quiet maybe advise before arrival if option to change room not above the smoking outside area as at times this can be noisy

Quaint little hotel close to many restaurants and little stores. Charming small town vibes. They have an unbelievable vegan dish that I could eat every day-- and I am not even vegan. Friendly & helpful staff. Close to the airport (15 min drive or less).

No air conditioner -- just a small fan. No ramp or lifts. You'd better be travelling light. No halal sourced meat options, but expected since the place was not designed for tourists, I think. Away from the hustle and bustle of central London. No Ubers or Bolt service in the area. The reception will call a cab for you.

Location is obviously perfect being in the center. Couldn’t believe how quiet our room was. Food great, kudos to the chef who sent a brownie to our room! The staff were absolutely AMAZING. There was great camaraderie with in the team and everything ran smoothly and all staff had smiles and kindness in abundance. Anything we needed was organised, prepared or sorted out quickly and quietly. The garden area was lovely and we were lucky to catch the Morris dancers passing through.

Our only niggle was the pillows. They weren’t great quality and lumpy bumpy filling. Pretty minor and easily remedied. There’s nothing not to like at the Saracens!

Friendly staff, excellent meal , excellent breakfast , lovely old pub , delightfully decorated for Christmas 🎄. Room was clean and warm . Would stay again , but would check no noisy , not the best singers were on

Noisy as our room was beside the smoking area and car park . Incredibly loud , duo singing , while we were trying to eat , we were so glad when they went off !! Turn it down .

The hometown atmosphere.

There needs to be more information provided about the available transportations to and from standsted Airport. I went to the bus stop near the hotel yesterday and saw a schedule. But when I arrived this morning before 0400. The bus driver said the bus would come at 0530. There was no schedule indicating 0530 anywhere. Also be aware there are no taxi services that early in the morning. I used every taxi app and nothing. But I was able to make my flight, but barley.

Rooms and food very good

Breakfast was a problem insufficient staff in fact could only find one who was run off her feet There was a large group who took over all bar area and took up majority of staff time. There was no milk, fruit juice more or less gone and ordering breakfast a problem because of staff shortage. The receptionist helped when she arrived getting fruit juice out. We were told everything had been much better previous day by other guests and to be fair staff in were very apologetic but they were far too busy to make it run well

Delightful old inn with plenty of newer accommodation at the rear and good parking. fantastic breakfast included in the room rate. very friendly, hospitable and comfortable, great to have a bath as well as a shower. Quiet and nice to have outside spaces to sit in.

It was tricky to find the parking, set in a road parallel to the High Street and accessible from the next road after you pass the pub on your left. strange not to have drinking water from the taps. As others have said, a complimentary bottle in the room would have saved a trip to reception.
