Chycara

This is the second time we stayed at Chycara and wasn't disappointed. Set in beautiful tranquil grounds but only a short drive away from Truro and Falmouth.Walking distance to Bissoe cycle trail Stayed in the smaller hidden lodge which is ideal for couples. Everything you need.Comfortable bed and lovely hot shower.. A very relaxing short break

We were aware there was no cooker but a microwave/grill and combination oven available but unfortunately no instructions on how to use.This didn't spoil our holiday though

Quiet, not overlooked. Just about space for one night ( two people) however nicely designed for one. We were in the Shepherds hut. The site map to find the unit was good-but (see "didn't like")...

Fridge( noise overnight + no space for wine in door). Not quite sure which unit we were going to stay in. Friendly person in office told us...but not obvious where the office was. Felt a bit insulated by notices to clean and leave as found( we always do this, who doesn't?).Didn't know about the small onsite pool which was sort of bookable in advance-but isn't generally for guests!

Loved the TV in the bath and the accommodation was so comfortable

Barely any cutlery/crockery and nothing matched so if I wanted to do a nice sit down meal I wouldn't of had enough of everything let alone anything that matched and some was so old it looked like charity or jumble sale. Considering the price of an exec lodge not what I expected. Also I really wanted to book the pool or take the kids to a session while we stayed but it gets fully booked in advance to people not even on site which I thought was bad they didn't have any slots for those paying for the facility and my two were desperate to get in. It shouldn't be used as a selling point if unavailable for those on site as a priority.

We stayed in Willow Lodge and it was absolutely perfect. Lovely open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge with comfy sofas and a well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms were a good size, the beds were really comfortable. There's loads of wardrobe and drawer space. The bathrooms were very clean and the showers were great. It stayed nice and warm in the lodge with the heating on a couple of times a day. We had 6 of us staying here and we had lots of room for us all, we would definitely go back. The outside space is lovely and peaceful. It was very quiet and secluded and we weren't overlooked at all. I can't fault it, we had a great weekend here.

Excellent secluded location with a short drive away from all amenities. The lodge was well equipped and light and airy. Quiet surroundings only noises you can hear are the birds which was delightful. Comfortable beds and lovely white fresh linen, separate dining area and living room and whole lodge was very spacious. Kitchen has a good amount of cutlery etc and washing up liquid and teatowels etc provided too.

If I had to give one negative it would only be that the towels provided were very rough and hard feeling. Fluffy white towels would've been better.

It was really cosy and peaceful, would love to go back for a longer stay. The perfect mix of being in the middle of no where but close enough to drive to Truro center or local pubs. Was lovely sitting on the porch in the evening and morning.

The shower head is really powerful but narrow, which makes the force of the water fall quite hard on top of your head, so was a bit of a painful shower than a relaxing one.

We had a fantastic time staying at chycara.. calm and quiet place. It’s ideal place if you want to getaway from busy noisy city life for a few days. We had a fantastic three day stay. Would suggest to get all organic food stuff as they don’t provide anything. Not even tea bags or coffee sachets were there. Which was a shame as we were expecting Atleast some sachets of tea one or two. But that’s just a silly excuse but the place and it’s serenity was breathtaking.

The directions to our cottage was a bit confusing as there were plenty of cottages around and ours were towards one end and was a bit confusing to find it.

Amazing hidden hut in lovely peaceful surroundings. Very secluded and not over looked. Beautifully decorated self contained hut with lovely garden area with patio set. Didnt see staff but they were there if we needed them. They were very helpful in helping us out with a taxi when we were stuck! Great walk along the Carvon Downs nearby. Loved our 2 night break. Thank you.

The fact we had to leave!

Lovely cabin, clean, everything we could need. Lovely setting. Perfect for what we needed. Lovely walk round the Valle, couple of good pubs. Neither in easy walking distance. Perfect for cycling though

If you wanted to be near the hubbub then this is not the place for you. Window over bed didn't open, didn't report as we were out most of the days.

Excellent central location for travelling across Cornwall. Lodge was larger than we was expecting and was very well equipped. Very good power shower. Lovely peaceful site. Felt like you were miles away from anywhere but could get onto the main roads really quickly. Heard the local Tawny Owl most evenings and saw plenty of wildlife.
