The Bull's Head has recently been refurbished to a very high standard - air con in the room was very nice on the hottest day of the year. The pub and restaurant were excellent, with very competent and friendly staff, a good range of local beers and a good menu. Breakfast was also very good.

Fantastic room, lots of space, very well appointed and newly refurbished. Air conditioning was also most welcome on the hottest day ever. Really recommend the restaurant, had a super meal, and excellent value for the quality. Hope to come back soon!

The staff were kind, welcoming and accommodating. We could wang on about how clean and modern the pub toilets are, or the quirky book collection sitting on the pub window sills, or the amstrad vinyl player lurking in the background. But it's the food that deserves a standing ovation. The chef and his team work from a reassuringly small menu and deliver exquisite dishes that manage to be at once familiar but also punctuated with incredibly tasty touches. We'll fondly remember the home made biscuits served with our mousse, or the glazed beetroot on our salmon and risotto. We'd come back just for his menu (and the 90's tracks seeping out the kitchen).

The carpet in our room is clearly new but is aging fast given there's nowhere to park muddy walking shoes.

Lovely smartly decorated room, deep carpet and comfortable bed. Great welcome and early check in for a wedding was accommodated. Plenty of carparking. Beautiful location in the heart of Ewhurst on the edge of the Surrey Hills AONB. We would absolutely stay or visit again.

Room 4 - water stain on the ceiling looks like the shower from the upstairs bedroom. Breakfast, continental, wasn't very good, orange squash not juice, instant coffee with 4 pod coffee machines piled up in the corner, fruit that had seen better days and badly laid out.

Lovely stay in a really well appointed pub/hotel. The food is really good and the hotel room excellent. Staff are lovely. breakfast, continental was great. Very small towels in bathroom. The pub hotel has a very mixed vibe. I felt it was trying to be more of a restaurant than a pub as we went to the bar as a hotel guest and there was only a circle of chairs on one side of the fireplace to have drinks and the rest of the pub seems to be set up for food guests only. I feel you would benefit from more of a pub vibe!. More pub stools etc. Again, I loved my stay, but feel you could increase your bar area for drinkers and reduce the restaurant areas, given that you have the massive breakfast area that could be used. Any how, I owed this venue. (think I had a ghost moe my water bottle during the night, (it scrunched and woke me up)

There was nothing to dislike

The room had air con which was good as it was very hot - it also drowned out the noise of people sitting outside in the seating area downstairs, which is unavoidable noise when you stay in a pub so I'm not moaning about that and I didn't have to hear it anyway! The hot water was amazingly quick and there were USB sockets in the plugs - the room was done out really well in general. Also, there were lots of milk sachets - most places are so tight with these, but not here! They also gave you a chocolate bar in with your tea/coffee stuff :-D

The only thing was a green light on the ceiling in the room - it felt like a laser in my face so I had to ensure I faced the other way during sleep.

The room was really comfortable, immaculately clean and had some nice touches - nice coffee machine, lots of usb ports, lovely bathroom. Fabulous shower and smart decor. I liked that there were plenty of teabags and milk portions as often hotels are stingy of this! The staff were welcoming and clearly proud of their establishment. It was also very quiet and the room was nice and dark once the curtains were closed - helpful for a good night's sleep! The pub itself is lovely - well worth a visit.

If the continental breakfast had a few minor tweaks, I think that would be great. Fresh coffee (provide some cafetieres?) and fresh pastries (even if you have to pre-order the night before) and some nicer muesli would make a big difference. That said, I'm being picky - there was plenty of it, enjoyed my breakfast and there was overall a good choice.

We should start this review by saying we can be a bit snobby when it comes to hotels. When we have stayed in pubs with letting rooms before, our experiences have been very mixed. However, this was pretty much the best we’ve stayed in. Ever. And that’s not an exaggeration. We arrived following a very long drive and were tired and ratty but were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our host, and indeed all the staff, could not have been friendlier nor more accommodating. The menu was plentiful and the food served thoughtfully and stylishly and was of the highest quality. And our room… Our room had the singularly most comfortable bed and pillows ever. It was beautifully and thoughtfully furnished and decorated, as was the bathroom, with a great shower. Little touches such as a heated bathroom mirror and LED lights to guide the way we’re just the cherry on the cake. If you are in the area needing a place to stay or have an early flight to Gatwick (just 30 mins away), we would wholeheartedly recommend this Inn. It is fab. We’re planning to come back just to explore the area and eat at the pub every night! A huge thank you to the staff from two weary travellers that you made feel very at home!

We were at the Bull's Head for a celebration of my mother's 80th birthday - many of us stayed in the hotel and enjoyed an excellent dinner and breakfast, and about twenty of us enjoyed Sunday lunch in the private room in the restaurant. Phil, Kindell and their colleagues could not have done more to make us feel welcome and to enable us to enjoy this special family occasion, from the specially arranged menu to the staff chorus of Happy Birthday at the end! The food was all exceptional and portions generous, the ambience in the bar and restaurant was very relaxed and friendly, and the rooms have been beautifully refurbished, particularly the spacious family suite which we stayed in with our three-year-old boy. We also enjoyed the excellent wine list and the tasty local beer, Firebird! The inn is in a lovely setting in the beautiful Surrey countryside. All in all we could not recommend it more highly and we hope to be back before too long.

Beautifully decorated, lovely bedroom with excellent facilities and fixtures. Very comfortable.

Unfortunately, due to lack of staff, only a continental breakfast could be offered, which was self service in the mornings. No staff on site. Good selection of items available, but not all had been refreshed or restocked for the second morning. This is the only criticism; otherwise a super place to stay.
