Comfortable beds, lovely space, well presented and clean. The amount of breakfast items left for us was exceptional. The fridge was stocked with milk, juice, yoghurt, butter and strawberries meaning we had everything we could possibly want and more! The space was great even for 2 adults and a teenager. Having a meal in the Tipi tent was excellent.....very friendly staff and great food. Such a wonderful space to eat in.

One very minor thing was the little bit of noise from the pub below but it was no more than what you would hear in a Travodge.

The breakfast had a great choice on offer, we liked having the kitchen to use when we chose. Also snacks were offered and a good choice of beverages, and no washing up! The hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble.

The windows rattled due to age and one of the blinds didn't work but not a problem, there could have been a little chest of drawers for storage but apart from that and the odd spider all was fab. The bedding and details such as chocolate on the bed were a lovely touch, the room was very nicely arranged and decorated.

Good for us as a family, felt like a self contained apartment which allowed us more freedom. Facilities good, overall a comfortable stay. Kitchen area allowed us not to have to always eat out. That said, food at pub below was lovely and our granddaughter liked eating in the tepee in the garden. All staff met helpful and friendly. We would stay again if in the area. Park and ride fab, close by and takes the difficulty out of finding somewhere to park in a busy city that you don’t know.

Few maintenance issues - shower door not fixed on slider at the bottom, chairs in kitchen wobbly, only 2 teaspoons in kitchen - sounds picky but our family occupied both rooms and therefore we were the only people using the kitchen. The continental breakfast and yogurt selection were lovely, and the washing up was done for us, but it might have been a little more difficult sharing with people you don’t know.

Stayed in the studio for 3 nights. Very warm and comfortable. Bed extremely comfortable and living area just right. High level of cleanliness throughout and well equipped kitchenette. Plenty of supplies given for a continental breakfast. The shared kitchen across the way was also well equipped and clean. Could not fault this. We were warmly welcomed and the whole place and pub had a good feel to it. Would definitely stay again

There was nothing that we did not like

Bedroom was very nice and the bed was comfortable. Do-it-yourself-breakfast was fine and the 'kitchen' a pleasant space. There was not that much noise from the pub below. It was very conveniently located to visit my daughter who lives in a village north of Cambridge. The WiFi was also very good.

However nice, it is still a room above a pub, ie not in a purpose built hotel. Though noise from the pub was minimal, it was still quite a noisy room (doors opening and closing on landing, other guests moving about, extractor fans, pipes...). The shower was leaking on and off and it took quite a while for the water to run hot.

Ideal for our location staff very friendly especially the cleaner and fran was a good host, very helpful nothing to much for her,

If I had one quibble it would be the bed settee in the studio apartment, the covers were dirty and it needed something more than a sheet as the pull out mattress as big buttons that came through the sheet and made it uncomfortable so we used a fleece blanket to sleep on this did the job. I would book this again,

The room provided was exactly what we wanted and everything worked well. The narrow (80cm) beds were very comfortable and the shower room had everything we needed. Breakfast was self service in a charming dedicated room fitted with a microwave, a fridge and large sink, where we were able to make snacks and take cereal and toast type breakfast at will. The pub was very cosy and we were well served by Cloe (also a hairdresser) with some lovely beer and a very well presented meal.

There are no complaints about the Porterhouse.

Breakfast was fine, and we particularly liked the kitchen off the landing which we could use if we wanted.

In the shower it would be useful to have a shelf to put shampoo etc. on, and maybe a bath mat available for elderly folks like us. Could be a bit slippery. Other than that perfect.

Lovely accommodation. Lots of attention to detail. Good quality bedding. A fan was supplied because of the warm weather. Staff very helpful. We'll stocked kitchen including choice of fresh fruit.

I would have liked a coffee machine rather than instant coffee.

Small old English style Inn, with excellent bar and restaurant facility below the rooms. We liked the authentic style kitchen, to suit yourself. Also very convenient for early morning leavers. Easy access to Cambridge and ferries.

Traffic on the road next to Porterhouse, but easily get used to it.
