The London Inn

Genuine hospitality. Nice and caring staff. I felt really like home. The pub downstairs gives you the opportunity to meet the locals. Rooms are nice spacious and spotless clean. Fluffy towels and soft sheets ideal to recharge your batteries after a tough busines day. Outstanding plumbing. Great for people like me who use a retort rather than a shower. Nice breakfast cooked to order and good food at the pub downstair. Highly recommended. Real value for money. I will definitely choose it once more if in the area again.

Just a suggestion: switch on the heating a few hour before guests arrive in to the room

Very friendly helpful staff. The breakfast was great. Although we went into town that night, the bar and menu looked good, should you not wish to go further at night.

They can't help their location, so parking was not perfect. Not a problem finding a back street and there's a car park across the way, but not on the premises. Being a pub, obviously it isn't quiet till it closes and as it was warm and our room was over the outside seating, having the window open left you hearing conversations. The decor is clean and functional but the rooms and corridors reflect the price. Some may feel they need refurbishment but everything is there and fit for purpose.

Big room with a double and single bed. Comfy mattress, good linens and lots of towels. (room 6) The room is on the first floor so some stairs, the pub is a popular family place and is beside a busy main road but the room was quiet. Great TV and good WIFI. We booked in for Sunday Lunch which was excellent and great value. Breakfast was good too. The staff were helpful. We took a taxi into the town centre which cost approx £8.00 and there is a direct bus very close to the London Inn. Easy to get a taxi. We would stay again.

I had chosen the hotel on the basis that we wanted to visit both Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. Its location suited both purposes. I did not want to spend a fortune on car parks so wanted a hotel within easy reach of the town by bus. We could then bus into town for free with our bus passes and move around on the buses. This all worked well. The welcome and friendliness of the proprietor was excellent: as were the breakfasts. It was exceedingly hot but a fan was provided and was needed.

The shower did not work initially and I desperately wanted one to cool down. It was fixed rapidly so thanks! Did not have problems with anything else.

We thought there might be a problem because it was a pub but the room we stayed in was right at the back of the building and far away from any noise or people. The pub was also quiet so we would never have known there was a pub involved. It's a British breakfast. It was a small breakfast (which is what I wanted. ie there was 1 of everything on the plate whereas some places give you 2 of everything). This was fine for us as we are light eaters in the morning. There was also the usual cereal and yoghurt etc. Not the biggest selection but more than adequate for us. No complaints and the staff were fine. To get to the town centre there is a 20-minute walk.

There was nothing we didn't like. Parking was on the street as there is no car park but we found a place just down the side road and our window overlooked the side road. The area is nice and we didn't have any worries about leaving the car on the street. It would have been nicer to be more centrally located but it was fine otherwise.

Our vegan friend was initially disheartened at breakfast time, but after a quirky conversation with our server lady, the end result was a pleasantly delicious relief. Two of us just ordered the typical English breakfasts, which were bang on. When it came to our vegan friend, a little Q&A session started. Our server wasn't rude, she just wanted to know more details about my friend's dietary requirements and preferences. After a bit of banter and confirmation with the chef, the vegan English breakfast was a perfect accommodation to our needs and could easily be a permanent feature of their menu.

This is a well positioned, pub-based hotel with free parking, a friendly / welcoming staff, and a good food menu... my breakfast was also included in the price, which was very good too. The room was actually better than expected as I'd only booked a twin room but had been uprated to a larger room for free. There was a nicely appointed, clean bathroom with shower and bath (although the bath was a little small).

There was nothing really negative to mention here. For the type of hotel this is, I don't think you could derate it for anything... they are doing a great job.

Very friendly staff. The bedroom and en suite were very clean and the bed really comfortable. About 25 minutes walk from the town centre, the inn is in a quiet part of town. Breakfast is included, continental and full English

Outside my window was the fan for the kitchen which was a bit noisy if you have the window open but it stopped once the kitchen wasn’t in use. It didn’t bother me that much and on the plus side, from that window you can see the mountains

The breakfast was spectacular! I had everything! Tea, juice, cereal, fruit, full English, the works! So good! I had a great bath in my personal bathroom, although it was a little rough around the edges, I'm guessing it is a work in progress. The Pub and bar was great, the cricket was on the telly so that was a bonus. The evening food was very good too but was simply too much for me to finish. Pizza special night and the salad I ordered extra was huge!

A bit noisy both from the traffic and from the pub. I knew about this before booking and given the scarcity of accommodation to meet our needs on these dates was willing to accept it. So this is information for other people rather than a complaint. Breakfast had received lots of compliments, so was expecting rather better than the one provided.
