Such a magical place to stay - the high four-poster bed made me feel like royalty and the hotel has so much history, with something different and quirky to see everywhere you look! The floors are uneven, giving you a real sense of the age of the place, and the decor is in keeping, with great attention to detail in the room, corridors and public rooms downstairs. Bottles of water by the side of the bed are a welcome touch, there are biscuits with the tea and coffee and complimentary toiletries. The little breakfast room is lined with bookshelves, filled with a fabulously eclectic mix of books, so you'll never be short of something to read. My cooked breakfast was hot, fresh and tasty, and all the staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful. This was my second stay here, and I will definitely return next time I'm in the area.

Good breakfast, lovely host. Evening dinner was good, staff were excellent - very friendly and good service. The hotel is full of old curiosities and very traditional. Enjoyed taking part in the pub quiz even though we came last! Stayed in a room with a Taster bed. The rooms were very clean if old fashioned but had everything you needed.

Not a very big car park and a little tricky to find due to the one way system but we didn't have any issues and were lucky to get a space but there is parking available around the streets.

Excellent breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Room beautiful. Very old pub so there were beams in the ceiling of the room. Lovely touches like lamp on in room when we arrived made it look very cosy plus there was a salt lamp which gave a really nice soft light. The bed was covered with a quilted bedspread. Very pretty.

Although the room was nice and warm I was cold in the night as we just had a sheet and the thin bedspread. Although it looked lovely I would have liked some blankets (sorry if there were some there and I didn't find them). Also, for us the bed was too hard but that is just a matter of choice so not really a criticism.

A lovely old hotel with lots of character. A nice host very obliging. Room had a fan and water beside the bed. Useful with weather having at moment . A nice cooked English breakfast.

Nothing really .The car park a bit tight only 7 places behind the hotel. Managed to get one ok

The hotel is great for most people including us but could easily be considered bad by others. not remembering its budget cost and its 700 years old.,

all was as hoped and expected parking was awkward but not considered hundreds of years ago. bad planning.

This is a quaint little inn with lovely calm staff, good beer and relaxin gstay in. Its not a holiday inn, and its not posh, but it ticks all the boxes for me.

THe wifi is pretty weak, so youre better off using mobile data

As always, a very warm welcome from the proprietors and staff. This hotel is my hotel of choice when working in the area as it has that comfortable home from home feel. The accommodation is comfortable, food is very good and the staff accommodating and friendly.

Parking can be an issue although the car park has recently been extended but there is plenty of free on street parking if the car park is full. Otherwise, nothing to dislike.

Breakfast very good although I didn’t like the assumption that what I chose for my first morning was what I would want every morning but I sorted that out by telling them I wanted something different after the second morning. My friend and I had a very pleasant dinner on my first evening but I ate at her house after that. (Not because we didn’t want to eat at the Cross Keys)

This place has character in bucket loads. Period furniture. Lots of nooks and crannies.stone floors. Room had character and was clean and warm the bed was excellent. Breakfast was great. Also eat at the inn which again was superb. Good wholesome food served with panache by all the friendly staff. Private courtyard parking was an additional bonus. Will be staying again.

Only one minor thing. Thought the carpets in the hallways could do with a spruce up. But hey it's a 15th century Inn

Very comfortable bad and a lovely big tv! Bottles of water by the bedside a lovely touch. Very accomodating host. Most enjoyable stay. Wonderful old building steeped in history. Thank you P.S. perfect breakfast!
