Cambridge House Hotel

I have stayed at the hotel previously and appreciate consistency i.e. comfortable bed, spotlessly clean bathroom. It is conveniently located for my workplace

I was not very happy with the check-in this time. There seemed to be a problem regarding checking in using the app. which I had not used. I mentioned that this was my 3rd time staying at the hotel just as another guest arrived to check-in. I got completely overlooked/ignored even though the next guest also had not used the app. and had also experienced a problem checking-in. No apology was given for keeping me waiting and I felt that I was being dismissed. I missed the friendly, helpful welcome I had on the last stay and the cup of tea!

The location is very good. It's in a quiet neighborhood close to the train station and just a short walk to the bus stop. We had a good night's sleep, and coffee was available in the kitchen downstairs any time.

Unfortunately, there's no elevator in the hotel, so we had to carry our bags up a number of flights of very steep and narrow stairs to get to our room on the top floor (of three floors). Our room seemed clean enough, but the floor was very sticky! We could tell that it had been cleaned. However, most likely the concentration or ratio of detergent to water was much too high, and it left a sticky sort of film all over the floors. The bathroom was very small, but functional. The TV worked well, but it was in a strange position not facing the bed, and it was fixed to the wall so we couldn't turn it towards the bed.

The hotel is located near the train station with some cool pubs nearby, with the town Centre and top attractions just about 15-minute walk away. All the staff was really friendly and accommodating. The bedside lamps weren't working which is not a big problem for me but I told the staff about it for future costumers.

This was my 5th stay in Cambridge and I think I finally found a hotel that I'd like to return to. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, I would love to know how this hotel chooses its employees because all that I've met were just amazing. I loved the free coffee tea and snacks, it was a very nice bonus. The room was simple but comfy and the location is great. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone who's looking for a conveniently located, simple and comfy place to stay. Cheers, Daniela

The window was kinda dirty and there was some alarm beeping constantly for the first 3 days of my stay, but it wasn't a huge inconvenience.

If you need to be close to the train station, then this is a great spot. It is also about a 15min walk to Cambridge city center. The room was much bigger than what I was expecting and included air conditioning. Just be aware that the air con is a mobile unit and can be quite loud. Wasn't a big deal for me though.

Not that I didn't like the bathroom. It was quite nice overall. The toilet however was very close to the wall which made it difficult and awkward to use at times. Minor detail though...for me at least.

I needed to stay in Cambridge for a couple of days - this place was great location wise and was exactly what I needed. The room was exceptionally clean, towels & toiletries were provided and the bed was comfortable. The WiFi connection was really good, so much so I was able to work from my room for one day without interrupted connection. The staff were friendly and I received regular text messages each day to let me know when I could receive complimentary refreshments.

I had to ask for the WiFi password - it would have been useful to have a laminate on a notice board, just in case a member of staff wasn't available to give this to me.

I love staying at this hotel. The location was perfect just a few walk from the train station and there are also supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The staff was very friendly and complimentary coffee in the morning was amazing. The room is small but it is very neat and cozy. 15 to 20 minutes walking to the Oxford University but it is just straight forward and very convenient! I would highly recommend staying here.

I would have given 10 score if it wasn't the payment system. I had some issue with the deposit money payment. The 50 pound charged several times(well not technically charged cause the money actually didn't get transferred) after booking and even after check out. I kept getting this notification on my phone and it was a bit annoying. I contacted the hotel and ask them to fix it. The staff kindly explained to me that the money won't be charged and they will contact someone in charge to fix the thing. Hope they fixed the issue by now.

The staff were great, very kind and helpful. The location of the hotel was absolutely great, it is only a couple of minutes away from the train station and the bus stations (if you need them). Everything that you could need is pretty much nearby. The location was quiet which was really nice especially if you are traveling for work and the staff makes sure that guests don't make too much noise (I happened to stay there during graduation weekend and the staff were very reasonable about the amount of noise allowed). The room itself was nice, very comfortable bed and pillows and the WiFi worked great.

The toilet design wasn't the most comfortable (basically part of the bathroom sink was sitting on top of the toilet and you had to squeeze through to be able to use it) and the room could get pretty hot (although if you open the window it is fine).

Very clean room and the most comfy pillows I’ve ever slept on. The pantry room has self-service coffee and tea, which is very lovely.

Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and all the tenants can’t get in touch with staff until 1-2 hours later. The room was too hot during last week of June. The draining system in the toilet was lackluster. A puddle would formed in the sink every time I washed my face in the morning.

Great size room, very comfy bed, loads of hangers. Clean, lovely modern, simple decor. Easy access with door codes and no check in or out. Ensuite was modern and clean. Good location for The Junction and fair price.

The bedside lights didn't work, the window handle was loose and couldn't be left on the latch as the frame was broken but we were on the middle floor so fairly safe. Ensuite was very small and didn't drain the water very well. Not much sound proofing between floors Minor points.
