The hotel has a very nice atmosphere and the facilities are excellent. The spa treatments are wonderful and the outdoor pool is lovely. Suite 84 was quiet and has a lot of space plus a sweet little terrace. The evening food in the restaurant is fabulous and beautifully presented. If you are looking for somewhere to relax, with delicious evening meals in beautiful surroundings this is ideal!

Nothing major at all. Some areas are a little careworn and could be updated. Breakfast could be improved on. Suite 84 had problems with the entry card and we were locked out several times, plus there are some areas in the accommodation could be refurbished.

Room was very nice, spacious comfortable. Large bathroom with toiletries supplied. Biscuits and beverages available in room, and replenished by turn down service. The gardens are lovely and extensive, even in February, and worth exploring.

There was a noise coming from under the roof over night, which disturbed our sleep. It would have been nice to have some fresh milk in the fridge. The bathroom taps were not working very well, and there was no fan in the bathroom. The room was in the upper part of the building, so there were a lot of eaves restricting the ceiling height. As we are both tall, a lower level room would have been more comfortable for us.

Firstly I must congratulate all the staff who were very friendly and bent over backwards to accommodate my stay to be perfect. I must single out one person, the Concierge Reece who took me on the buggy as I am an amputee and on two crutches. Reece also found time to take me around the fantastic grounds. As for the food, the breakfast selection was amazing. The cooked breakfast was well presented and tasted delicious. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, house keeping came in each morning. The view was onto one of the inner courtyards. Even maintenance were helpful.

I liked everything.

The staff and service were fabulous, especially the lady who seemed to be in charge of things at Breakfast; she was outstanding. The facilities, including the pool and sauna were gorgeous, helped by the weather being on our side so we got to make use of the outdoor pool. The room was lovely and we were impressed with the cleanliness of everything. The coffee and tea making facilities were 10/10 too. Over all a lovely hotel in an absolutely beautiful location, would stay again...with hopes that the shower has had an update!

The only thing we were disappointed in was the shower. We weren't expecting a power shower by any means, but what we got was very disappointing and a far cry from everything else the hotel had to offer. Rather annoying when you've had a lovely evening swim and come back to you room to find that the showers in the pool changing rooms are better than the one in your room!

The staff were consistently polite, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It was lovely to have a spa and gym to unwind. We made time for the golf course and playing tennis, croquet together and relaxing around the outdoor pool.

These are all feed back for improvements /suggestions 1) We felt the lounge table facilities were too low to eat main meals off and as such this was uncomfortable- it was fine for pre drinks throughout the day etc 2) the house had plenty of free tea but no coffee stations / this would have been ideal in the lounge area 3) I requested brandy coffee after my meal in the lounge but they were unable to do this- this was a disappointment

Fantastic building and grounds. The outdoor pool was lovely and so beautifully located between the old buildings. The kids were allowed all the time which was a huge plus for our 4 year old. It was just so lovely to be walking around the “castle” and in the nature

Food was not the best unfortunately. Service a bit slow in both the terrace and the oak room restaurant. Breakfast was not good (the buffet was fine but small, the a la carte choices was not good at all). The terrace had only one waiter that was running his feet of, poor guy! There was a wedding celebration going on during the Saturday night outside our window and the music was playing loud until one in the night. It was not the best room for a family with a small kid and a baby. Maybe something for the management to be a bit more mindful about when allocating rooms. But on the whole we had an absolutely amazing weekend away, thank you!!

Wonderful place to stay: old stable blocks, wood panelling, libraries, terraces and acres of gardens. Our room was large and comfortable. The swimming pools were excellent, plenty of sun beds to lounge on indoors and in the peaceful walled garden around the outdoor one. Staff were friendly and attentive. A very relaxing break.

Was slightly disappointed by the food. Our fish-and-chip/fancy-burger evening meals were expensive and not special. Would highly recommend the buffet breakfast but the cooked-to-order Full English was very ordinary and not hot enough.

The old world charm of the hotel was just wonderful as was the setting. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. Room size was excellent and all facilities were very clean.

Despite having a very large room the bed was quite small. The room was unbearably hot. The combination of both of these points led to a very poor nights sleep which is never good. The breakfast was good but on the first morning, it was very busy and the staff were quite rude and unhelpful however the 2nd morning was much quieter and the staff seemed much happier so perhaps something was going on that had upset them on the first day!!

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Fantastic staff, very friendly and attentive (without being overbearing! ). We stayed in a courtyard room which was huge. It was better then the photos portray. Food was extremely good with interesting and varied meni and served in beautiful dining room. Spa was good, small indoor pool and sauna. We were lucky to have a dip in the heated outdoor pool on it's last day of the season. Tennis courts and gym look brand new...next time!!

Bed was very soft and pillows not great. But that's a personal preference.

Really lovely staff and location. We visited to celebrate my daughter's sixteenth birthday, and there were lots of little touches, like a card in the room, that made her feel very special. Dinner was also great, and one of the staff wished her a Happy Birthday, which was lovely. There also bought over a birthday pudding, which was delicious!

We had a fantastic room, and the beds were super comfy. If I had to be picky, the bathroom was very clean but a little tired, and the shower wasn't very powerful. BUT that is me being picky as the whole stay was wonderful and we'd go again next weekend if we could!
