SugarCane Chiang Mai

This is a lovely hotel. Very quiet location but only a 10 minute walk to the centre. Nice comfortable rooms and communal areas. We had a top floor family room which was actually 2 interconnecting rooms with a balcony. Views to the pool area and mountains around Chiang Mai. The hotel feels like a real family hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. The staff also arranged trips and excursions for us which made the visit very easy. The cost for our stay in relation to the comfort and convenience of this hotel was excellent value for money. If we return to Chiang Mai we would definitely stay here again and would 100% recommend it.

Possibly the.most comfortable beds in Thailand, in fact one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in, full stop. The Location is great, quiet but within walking distance of the old town or a cheap taxi ride to anywhere. Lovely pool, great rooms, did I mention the beds? The breakfast was good, with lots of choice and well prepared, the staff were really helpful with all of our needs, even printed some tickets for me that I needed in paper format. I would happily stay here again if I ever go back to Chang mai. Beds, people, beds. If you've spent any time in Thailand you will know that they prefer a firm/hard mattress but this place knows its guests and they provide what all travellers in Thailand really miss, soft comfortable, good quality beds.

Absolutely nothing.

Perfect hotel and location only 10 minute walk to the old city or about 100tb via tuk tuk. Very close walking distance to the Saturday night walking market. Excellent staff always there to help and make sure your stay is comfortable and accommodating, they tendered to our personal needs quickly. Breakfast is good. There is fresh bottled water and clean towels provided to your room daily. Pool towels available at reception if needed. Also free water and snacks at reception. Noi is very helpful with organising transport or tours if needed. We had some of our clothes washed whilst we stayed, the clothes came back clean, fresh and neatly folded . Pool is good size for cooling off with plenty of sun loungers. Wifi is excellent! Price ratio to the experience we had staying at sugar cane hotel exceeded excellence. We had originally booked to stay in the old city but after reading the reviews on booking.com we decided to stay here and glad we did.

We really enjoyed our stay at SugarCane. The family room was spacious and comfortable. The pool was great after a hot day of exploring. The breakfast was tasty. The staff were very helpful and we enjoyed our day visit to Doi Sethup organised by the hotel. The location is a little out of the main town but we actually found that great as it was quiet but there were still shops and great eating spots within waking distance and it was easy getting in and out of the main town area using Grab. We did manage to walk to the night markets with young kids so it really isn't that far. We used the laundry service at the hotel which wasn't super cheap but was so easy and the clothes came back perfect. There is also a self service laundromat down the road which we used too. Little touches like umbrellas to borrow and rocking horses the kids could play with were appreciated :) Thankyou for the great experience!

The staff were very helpful, welcoming, and friendly. Daily service was fantastic. our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast and on-site drinks were excellent. The main space has a wonderful vibe. The property pays careful attention to small details that make you feel very at home.

There were a couple minor details that were notable. The air conditioning was ‘moody’ and did work well most times, but dropped through the night for a couple nights, which was just annoying more than anything. There may be some upgrades happening in the hallways, which has currently resulted in an odd, haphazard messy look. Again, not a huge deal, but took away from all of the great things.

This hotel had all the right touches. They were attentive to so many small details that were unique to any other place we stayed during our prior two weeks of travel. From free drinking water available all day long, and well stocked in large bottles in the rooms, to bananas and snacks always available at the reception, to mentos treats replaced daily in the rooms, and nice shampoo and condition provided in the showers, I felt like the property went above and beyond. The pool is lovely and just the right temperature. Breakfast was nice, and they even packed us a nice to-go breakfast for the morning we had to leave early before the breakfast hour started.

Clean and bright room with large comfortable bed. The space is nice, spacious, well lit, and well ventilated. It is quiet at night as the hotel located in an alley with no shop or restaurant nearby.

There were mosquitoes in the room when we arrived, not many and the hotel had sprayed before we came back in the evening. The temperature of the shower water was unstable, it suddenly went very hot/cold. The room was not well soundproof, I could hear sounds from upstair and next door room. Breakfast was served late at 7.30am while we must leave earlier.

Good location, the lobby interior and scented rooms. The pool area is also very nice. Rather a big amount of complimentary water was also appreciated, the staff is well wishing and caring. The hotel is quiet and peaceful - great for a good rest.

The room we stayed in had a very thin walls. It mos probably used to be an adjacent one as there was another door behind the closet. Therefore we could very clearly hear the conversations and baby cries happening in the other room. We didn't stay there much but when a baby starts crying before 6am the you don't really appreciate those paper walls. :)

Close enough to the old town-the center, the Saturday and Sunday nights markets and the five o’clock food stalls in the evening at Chiangmai gate(walking distance), but distant enough from the bustling crowds of the downtown. The area is quiet, the property has a local charm and the service is friendly. The breakfast was good, with a choice of Western style eggs, rice porridge, or the special sticky rice and grilled meats.

It would have been nice to have another breakfast option with yoghurt and granola.

We loved that the hotel had a authentic yet modern look, the room and all the facilities were always clean. The hotel was not too big, felt like a home away from home. Super friendly and helpful staff, espescially Noi who helped us book a trip to see elephants and also arranged transport for us.

The location is a bit outside the old town, some Song Taos will not drive there from the old city. It was still easy to get around, only a 10 min walk to the edge of old town and it was easy to get tuk tuks and use Grab for transport.
