Lai Thai Guest House

Note, review is based on the property only being a modest 2 star establishment, do with that in mind it is excellent value for money. The pool is a bonus and the red jazz bar on site is also a plus. South East corner of old city do location good. A/C good, everything else functional, rooms not massive, so can't really unpack, ideal for backpackers wanting a decent bed, hot shower and a relax in a pool. Didn't try the breakfast so unable to comment. For breakfast go to the French bakery round the corner and down the road. L'opera, the guy there is a magician. Croissants, bread, pastries to die for, how he does it outside his native country I have no idea. But if you want alternative to Asian breakfast 🤮 it is 10/10.

Overall finish of bathroom fixtures and fittings but it's only 2 star. If you want something more upmarket can always pay more.

There was a pool with a few sunbeds Rooms were perfectly adequate Location was perfect easily walkable markets, wats, bars/restaurants and local attractions

Hot water was a little hit and miss

Location was amazing, communication with staff about changing dates was very professional and they were super helpful at no extra cost! Breakfast was nice, costa extra. Free locked luggage storage which was a nice bonus. Pool was great, received plenty of sunlight and there were enough sun loungers for everyone. It was nice and clean! Free water, towels and toilet paper every day and turndown service available upon request. We had a great time and would stay again, super good value for money!

Hole in mosquito net, let many flies in and mosquitos in during night, as no windows just shutters! Quick fix with a bit of tape worked fine for us but obviously only a short term solution. Shower was good pressure but only freezing or boiling!

Very well located and staff were very nice to us

The staff was the friendliest! Very helpful and attentive. The accommodation offered everything you need. Great value for money. It's close to the center and the night market is in walking distance. Only the beds are not super comfy but aside from that it offers all amenities you need.

Is really good value, I have stayed iplaces that were way more expensive but not as nice. Is a simple, clean room, a bit kitch but charming kinda like old Thai style. You can hear the Main Street but is not that bad. The staff is super friendly and they did my room everyday. Unlike the previous hotels I’ve stayed in Thailand.

we were in a back building so not a lot of noise and nice to have a pool. not far from the square, can walk to night market but not that close. need a tuktuk to go to bars. booking.com actually messaged up our booking and they didn’t have it, but they helped us find a room for one night and offered us a deal to stay with them the rest of our time in Chiang mai

toilet was broken so was constantly leaking and making a noise

The venues around Choang Mai. The tables and cairs at front of the guesthouse were ideal for watching parade. Being able to sit outside on a verandah. Tables ans chairs just inside the property

Beds are a bit hard. Yhe raisex concrete bordef around the shower.

I like the location of the property the staff were very friendly.

It is not a top class hotel so if you are looking for top class i would recommend going somewhere else but if you just want a comfortable bed to lay your head i think you would like this place

Staff friendly and helpful. Nice cafe/bar attached with live music every night (Dang Fantastic) , we were there- 4 nights playing the old favourites. Pool nice and clean. Good location for accessing services and sights.

The place seems tired and in need of a spruce up/TLC. A few more plug sockets would be helpful. One of bathrooms did not have a shower curtain. All the lights in the bedrooms did work.
