BaseCamp Hotel

I think we were the first or second people in the room since it had been renovated. Everything exceeded our expectations. The room looked great (what a cool headboard)! The bed was comfy. Nice new windows and door to the deck. The room features are terrific. Thoughtful places to set and open our suitcases. Lots of outlets with USB plugs at convenient heights. Nicely updated bathroom with counter space for our stuff. Soft towels and bed linens. Breakfast included many options, so even accounting for some food allergies and personal pickiness, each of us enjoyed a hearty meal. The check-in and check-out staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a room with mountain view and it was amazing. We sat on the deck and stared at the Matterhorn--truly magical.

There are two routes from the train station to the hotel, we unknowingly took the steeper route :-( We recommend including the more gradual/easier directions along with the confirmation.

the room was clean and there was cleaning services available every day. a jug of water and chocolates were provided and replenished for every day you stay there. room was relatively big to open luggages. liked that there was laundry services available, albeit expensive.

wish that a kettle was provided so we can boil hot water or tea. room was slightly warm with the windows close so you have to open them. as it is rather difficult to get to the hotel (as there are slopes plus snow if you follow the google maps route), it would be great if the hotel could provide free transport services to the accoms. or at least provide directions to the hotel that’s more travel friendly. shower area was slightly small

This place was very much like how you would imagine switzerland rooms. The views from my room were epic, could see matterhorn clearly.the bathroom was fresh and modern

The staff could have been nicer, yeah I didn’t have cash but maybe not make a huge deal out of it? I was willing to go and make a withdrawl from the ATM. The room was very cold.

Close enough to walk to everything in Zermatt in just a couple minutes but you don't hear the noise from the clubs/bars all night. Breakfast was simple but appreciated. A few options for how you'd like your eggs cooked plus an assortment of breads, meats, cheese, cereal and yogurt.

The ceiling on the loft units (with skylights) is low in some places. In the winter you might miss out on the view from the skylights when they are covered with snow.

Everything! I love that there was hot food for breakfast. Love how the dining table was set up with a lime green table runner matched with colored plates, giving it a lively ambience. The common hall was very well decorated and warming too. Bathroom was exceptionally clean and spacious, has a bathtub for hot bath at night. The stay was definitely very pleasant, and I hope to return again! 😊❤️

The view from our room is superb! We really enjoy spending time looking at the scenery from the balcony. That is what I miss the most from my entire Switzerland trip!

It is quite a walk to the hotel and tricky with luggages and we only found out about hotel transport service after reaching. So people, remember to make your request! (also note that driver has off day so its not available daily)

I stayed on the 5th floor and got a beautiful balcony with the view of the Matterhorn. The bed was comfortable and I loved how the room was set up to have a space to lounge. Lots of options for breakfast and they made eggs per order, so freshly made for you. The bathroom was huge and had a tub!

The wifi was spotty and only seemed to work in one area of the room. No shower curtain, made it hard to shower without spilling water everywhere.

I had a wonderful time at the BaseCamp Hotel. The hotel was very clean, with all the amenities I needed while still being spacious enough so that i didn’t feel cramped. The location on the town area was fantastic and made it easy to enjoy the area’s scenery and explore what Zermatt has to offer. Overall, I had a great experience and are already talking about our next visit.

Stayed in double room with Mountain View and balcony. Nice sized room, clean and lovely bathroom. Good breakfast selection included and helpful kitchen staff. English TV channels and perfect late check out.

Reception staff helpful but not very friendly. Further from train station than I thought and very steep walk but should have expected it. uncomfortable pillows but beds ok.

The view from the room and at the balcony was magnificent, you can see the Matterhorn from the balcony. Room is clean and tidy. Breakfast was nice as they offer scrambled or fried eggs, and also roasted potatoes and veggies. The variety and quality of food overall was satisfying.

It was a bit far from the station with about 10 minute walking time, but it’s definitely worth it for it’s view of Matterhorn.
