Hotel Vatel 4* Superior

Convenient location. 10 min walking distance from Martigny train station (a local transport hub) makes it ideal for hiking in the area. Excellent bright room, with a nice view to the hotel's park and mountains around. Great soundproofing. Room and bathroom equipped above average. Excellent Wi-Fi, well-working air conditioning system. Very good breakfast. Very helpful staff, mostly speaking very fluent English. We enjoyed the restaurant, every single dish was above our expectations. Overall, excellent experience. Will not hesitate a second to come again.

Honestly, very little could be said on the negative side. It would be good to have fresh vegetables at the breakfast buffet. Also, lactose-free milk was not available.

Very clean room and plenty of storage. Nice amenities in the bathroom and we appreciated the coffee maker in the room, with a few free coffee/tea pods. The bottled water was also very welcome. The parking lot was spacious, but you can't pull the car up the front door for loading and unloading. The staff was very friendly and the lobby was a nice place for a drink at the end of the day.

The entrance signs from the street are not illuminated, so it was just a little tricky to find the proper entrance at night. Also, our key cards did not work well. The staff was quick to help us out, but the problem persisted for two days.

Kind staff, helpful. Hotel is lovely renovated 2 years ago. Clean and comfortabel rooms. Modern. Quiet. From the outside it looks a bit harsh but inside it's a very kind and welcoming place. Nice location outside martigny, also when travelling and looking for a place overnight. And if you like, the old centre of martigny is still close by for a dinner at the square. (martigny: it's a shame you made this into a big high playground and one can't see the square anymore)

The bathroom, that is the sink, was a bit small and not in the best position. We were just wondering about the design

Secure parking for the motorbike with the offer of their private garage, beautiful hotel school, fantastic staff, great facilities, beautiful food, what's not to like. This was the best hotel of my trip by far, none of the others comes close.

It isn't cheap, but then again, Switzerland isn't cheap. No options to get public transport into the city were offered when I asked how to get in. I ended up walking at night through some rather dodgy streets. If you plan to go into town, try to get a taxi in, walking might be pleasant during the day, but not that much in the evening/night.

Very friendly and helpful staff, wonderful room, very clean and quiet hotel, very large breakfast buffet. The only thing to keep in mind when tracelling in the french-speaking part of switzerland is that it may be tough to find somewhere to eat as restaurant kitchens close 2-6pm. A playground area/corner in the garden would be nice for kids.

Very comfortable rooms and beds, pleasant and accomodating staff. The bathroom was very nice with a lot of water in the shower. The breakfast was good, bit pricy though but normal for the quality and choice of food. It's one of the best 4-star hotels I stayed at.

Not the most attractive location of the city but it's not far from the train station.

They only give you one bedroom key (and yes I did ask for a second key but they refused - because of something about their system), something you normally get even in a 1* hotel. Since you can’t even operate the lift without a key, you can’t even get to your bedroom on your own if your wife/husband stayed there while you went for breakfast. That’s super annoying and there’s no justifiable reason for it.

The staff kindness and service was amazing, very friendly and professional at the same time, my kids enjoyed a lot the breakfast with the little birds visiting to grab bread crumbs we tossed them.

The room was a little bit small for a family of 4, and we had asked for a baby crib but we got 2 double beds. Other than that, no problem at all.

Interior design very functional and comfortable. Nice lighting. Personnel distinctly professional (in training, as it is the french Vatel chain's school of hotel) and very friendly. Very quiet at night. Nice park garden.

One very small single sink in double (bath)room. Few horizontal surfaces to lay things on.

The rooms are significantly above average in terms of comfort, furniture choice and arrangement. The bathroom are a cut above your avg hotel.
