Hotel Atlantico

this small and welcoming hotel is situated a short bus ride (No 2, across from the station to get to the hotel)) from outside the main rail station in Lugano. the rooms are a good size and the balconies are good sized. the bathrooms can be compact, but are more than fair sized. the breakfasts are continental based. the staff are welcoming and very helpful. located close to the main conference centre, Lido and lake shore.

very hard to find anything negative about this hotel, very local and Swiss in approach, so if you are looking for 5* luxury then, rather than a clean, practical friendly hotel, then the centre of town has this and prices to reflect it.

I was absolutely delighted with Hotel Atlantico. The location, my balcony had a partial lake view (not expected!), the friendliness of the owners was lovely. I particularly liked the tea and coffee station in the downstairs lobby. The breakfasts were very nice and the small touches, like ability to pick up more toiletries from the hallway, the iron and ironing board in the hall, the books to read. The desk in the room was great as I was on a work trip and there was plenty of space to hang and store clothes during my 4 nights stay. This small hotel has a really friendly and relaxed vibe, in a lovely neighbourhood and feeling very safe for a woman travelling alone. There was also a direct bus to the train station and a beautiful lakeside walk to reach the old city.

Usually I always prefer to have a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but since these were provided in the hallway it was almost as good for me.

They facilitate thoroughly.... I requested to keep some food items in fridge, i got a mini fridge in my room (couldn't be more happy)... Lift is there to carry heavy suitcases upstairs, you just have to mention it that you need lift as it is adjacent to the attached building..... Breakfast great (heavy on the sweet palate). Late august, I didn't need any additional cooling via AC, although it was nearby my room. Daily cleaning and room service. Location is great to commute via bus in city and to lago on foot, and to hike on Monte Brè (Ticino city ticket provided upon arrival has alot of discounts, itsa free feature for tourists by this Ticino region in Switzerland..... What else, Ironing board, additional sheet, towels everything was there.... The staff and team is very communicative, caring and supportive, in case of any additional request, i just mentioned and they facilitated me. I didn't use but appreciate the free coffee tea at the ground-floor. And decorum of the place is very nice, cozy and pleasant to the eyes.

Itsa warmer region and one may find tiny ants roaming around within the buildings and rooms. They gotta live too, but they are harmless so nothing to worry about.

Really nice hotel if you are planning a stay in Lugano. The rooms are just the right size and come with a large balcony and nice little touches. The breakfast was really good and the staff super nice. Cody beds and nice bathrooms The location is great, just a few metres from the Lakeshore and the funicular to one of the mountains. In case you are getting into Lugano by train, there is a frequent bus from the station, but the walk through the city is also not really far.

Fantastic little hotel - perfect for a few days using Lugano as a base to explore the area. Perfect location on a quiet street but 2 mins from the lake and swimming spots/lido and a 10/15 min walk into the centre of Lugano. There is a bus stop 2 mins from the hotel which has very frequent buses into the town centre and directly to the train station. Also the C12 bus goes directly to Menaggio making it an extremely convenient way to do a day trip to Lake Como! The staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations for places to swim and eat and advice on transportation. Excellent breakfast! Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with a balcony and very quiet.

This was a lovely little hotel, very clean, comfortable and welcoming. The continental breakfast was excellent. It's a little way from the station (we arrived by train) but on a bus route, so no problem for us there. There is an open air swimming pool nearby on the edge of the lake which was beautiful. You can walk towards the town through some gorgeous gardens, and there are plenty of good places to eat or have a drink. We really hope we can return one day.

There was really nothing to fault. We were sorry that we were only passing through so had only booked for one night.

The location is conveniently close to bus stops. Walking distance to Old Town and many restaurants. Breakfast offerings were delicious. Nicholas was very helpful and friendly. Our apartment was huge!

There was a small mixed up with the keys at check-in but Nicolas sorted it out quickly with us and another guest.

The staff was professional and responsive to my inquiries. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The location was convenient for getting around town by foot. The parking was ample.

The heating in the room was excessive, without any thermostat to adjust the temperature due to a centralized system. However, by leaving the window slightly open during the night, it was possible to enjoy a comfortable room temperature. The double bed is two single beds placed next to each other and that would slide apart if laying in the center; it would help to have a way to fasten the beds together so that they they do not slide apart.

We loved our well planned room, it had an open wardrobe which kept the room nice and organized, we were a family of 4, and the room was big! Very clean and maintained :) We stayed there during easter and they hid chocolate eggs in different spots, my 4 years old was very excited about that

The hotel parking was a bit tight, but manageable

The staff is most helpful and speak English. Very warm and inviting welcome. Tperiod the hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the area and free parking as a benefit! 2 point the breakfasts are fantastic and plentiful. The hotel is very simple yet very clean and quiet! We had a wonderful stay and will highly recommend.
