Hotel Du Lac

The location is simply perfect for Locarno, you are dead central! The hotel is also 24/7 which is great. The rooms are fairly quiet and dark, due to the fact you can close the outside shutters.

The breakfast is nothing special and not worth 15CHF (which was optional). However, this is not a problem as there are so many fantastic places walking distance to grab a quick breakfast, which you would want to do in any event. I had a double room, shared, so just be aware the rooms are quite small. Again, this was irrelevant to me because you are in Locarno, so you do not want to spend additional time in the room, but spend it outside with the many things to do! Lastly, the value for money was superb.

Excellent walking distance from Locarno station; very friendly staff; decent-size room, with lots of storage capacity and an excellent in-room coffee maker (a highlight)! Terrace for breakfast!

Curtains could have been full black-out and more power outlets in the room would be nice. Maybe a bit larger selection for breakfast.

Breakfast was great, they were able to accommodate a gluten free breakfast. The view from both our room and the breakfast room was gorgeous. The “family room” basically 2 adjoining rooms worked well for our family (2 young kids). It was also very centrally located across from the lake.

The location is absolutely fantastic for a Locarno city trip. We had a great room with lake view and can only recommend it. Parking is also very close by and although sometimes a problem with these downtown hotels was not an issue or concern for us.

The location is unbeatable, right in the very centre of Locarno, the staff are very friendly and smily, the family room is two adjoining rooms with two doors in between, and it’s plenty large for a family of 3. My 2.5 year old daughter normally sleeps very poorly outside home but she slept well enough in the hotel. The Centro parking is right opposite to the hotel. There are many dining and snack options right downstairs, and many shops. 3 mins walk to the lake, and the kids’ playground next to the lake is awesome.

They provided us with a water kettle when we asked (that’s great) but it was plastic and had a strong plastic smell..

The location is perfect for walking round the old town and along by the lake. The property is smart and well-kept, with an excellent breakfast served on the outside terrace when the weather allows. We appreciated the proximity to the central carl park.

Aircon was a little noisy. Balcony view a little restricted.

I wished for a room on the upper floor because it's quieter, but ... . We weren't given one. Sleeping was awful as the mattress was way too flabby. Not recommended for people w/ back problems.

Very friendly Staff - from the reception lady to the breakfast lady. I asked for soya milk at breakfast, immediately she gave me a new carton with a big smile :-)) 2 mins walk from the train station and right in the shopping square ;-)) Quiet & Clean room. Free 2 bottles of water in the room & tissue papers (very rare for a 3 star hotel these days)

Can hear everything from the bathroom, could be a bit embarrassing ... hehehe....

the location is perfect. shopping, food, water, transportation all within walking distance.

shower is extremely small. pillows well there was only one pillow for each bed

For a 3 star hotel, the offer is quite good: small room but comfortable bed, Nespresso coffee and water in the room.
