Swiss Star Zurich Airport - contactless self check-in

It's really conveniently located at an affordable price, especially in comparison to what costs can reach in Switzerland. Perfect for when you just need somewhere to stay and you're out most of the day. There's no direct dealing with any kind of reception staff, the only people you might meet are the ones who clean the rooms. The password for the Internet Wi-Fi was on the notice behind the front door for me. Within walking distance of Kloten railway station (don't mix up on return journeys with the one called Kloten Balsberg!) but you can actually walk from the hotel to the airport. Quite a lot of us did that, you start by crossing the street from the entrance towards the walking path which is signposted which is just diagonally across the street. It would be easier to catch a cab from the airport the first time or at night (my driver preferred cash so it's handy to have some). Lots of bus stops even closer than Kloten but I personally didn't use those

No complaints, just be aware there's no onsite staff or keycards, so make a note or take a photo of your passcodes (the one you get for your booking and then the one you get after entering that for your room). Make sure you have the right adaptor plugs (it's not the two pin round ones for Europe and there was only Swiss plug points in my room) and there isn't a kettle or any tea/coffee etc. There is an Aldi in walking distance as well as a Migros if you need food and the like.

It was clean, confy and really nice.

If you are a foreginer, you need wifi for doing the check-in and a lot of companies don't offer internet in Swiss because it isn't part of the UE, they should offer like 1-2 mins of free wi-fi for the check-in.

Overnight stay between flights at this somewhat reasonably priced airport location. Liked it’s location, 18 min. walking distance to airport. Was clean and easily accessible if you follow instructions religiously. The facility is basic but clean and all you need for a short stay. There’s a small restaurant adjacent to the property where until late at night you can have a meal and drinks at an affordable price. Would return here and would recommend this place to anyone budget-conscious. Ideal for 1-night stays.

The room had no air-condition or fan. On a hot day as was the case during our stay, you couldn’t bring the room temperature down. This is not a fancy place just very basic.

As a 1 night stopover it is excellent, it is a 10 minute walk from the airport, I made the mistake on landing of taking a taxi which is stupidly expensive at 16 Swiss franc but of course I thought it would be difficult to find.. If I were to use Zurich airport again I might book it for 2 nights and stay with my wife and just walk around the town of KJloten or jump on a bus and visit Zurich. The room was large and clean with underfloor heating and a huge balcony.

The only problem is that there is no fridge and no breakfast facilities - a very small problem considering the outstanding location, cleanliness and apartment size.

It was easy to get the keys and book a parking slot. It was easy to get the code at the entrance. The parking slot had my license plate number. The room is spacious with a small kitchen and there is a bathtub. Also it had an ironing board and an iron, which I much appreciated because I went for a job interview.

It is a bit lively (some Italians gathered at 5 in the morning at the parking and had a chat), but o.k. (because of the night flight ban I could sleep with an open window). The cleanliness could be improved.

Close proximity to airport via public bus a short walk away, onsite manager gracious enough to change my room to one quieter and a bit fresher, thank you very much, Kumar! Great hot shower, reasonably comfortable bamboo bed, double-wide desk with 2 chairs, nightstand with lamp - very basic, but adequate, for my purposes Had no issues with entry although I've stayed there before and know to register and read and follow the protocol

The greatest challenge the week I was there was the router nearest my room went out soon after I arrived and was never fixed despite the manager notifying the service provider - pitiful service provider

Enter to hotel not a simply at all. To find how to rich keys is very complicated. In the email which hotel send before arrival not mentioned any word how to enter at hotel. People inside the hotel helped me to find the way and to find how to open the room. Instruction of hotel based on old system and now enter to building and to the room are different, digital way. New way is better, but for client that see this system first time in his life it's not simply.

Location of the hotel is great - you can walk to the airport if you don't have heavy luggage. Rooms have everything you need, even a little kitchen. Rooms aren't really modern but clean.

The cable to adjust the roller blind was already ripped in my room when I got to the hotel, unfortunately and thus left open during the day. When I arrived in the evening, it was really warm in the room, and I left the window open all night since it wasn't cold outside either (I'm used to sleep between 18-20°C though so that's just me). I would have appreciated an air conditioner, everything else was fine.

The 2 single beds room had all we needed for a weekend stay. Beds were comfy, showers were hot with towels and shampoos, room was also clean. The kitchen has a microwave and one-eye-stove, as well as pots, pans, and dishes. The heater was working well, not the warmest room, but the room temp was fine, that I did not have to wear extra clothes at night.

TV did not have a single unlocked channel. Why even bother add a TV to the room at that point. Wifi was a bit slow.

Easy and fast check in, access with code. small kitchen (microwave-stove-fridge-plates) we could easily prepare food. location is good near zurich. two near supermarkets in 5 mins walk. room size is good, comfort bed. private bathroom. free WIFI.

Ventilation is not so good. they need to add any pathways for more air flow. Although we stayed 8 nights they cleaned room one time only, and did not take away the trash. You will need swiss electricity adaptor to charge your devices
