Hotel du Commerce

The staff at the reception were very helpful. I arrived around 7.00 am in the morning and my room was ready to check-in already. The convention center is literally across the street. Bathroom is updated. I needed an adaptor for plugs, and it was provided free of charge. It was a pleasant stay and value for money for Basel area is really good.

I think rooms can also use some updating. Coffee and tea facilities in the room need upgrading as well both the appliances and the consumables. These would really help I think.

Hotel du Commerce was a very pleasant place to stay in Basel. It was conveniently located for Basel city centre and there was breakfast available onsite, albeit somewhat expensive. The room was small and basic but perfectly adequate, and was spotlessly clean.

It was somewhat difficult to get in when I arrived, late in the evening. There is nobody at reception, so you have to work out how to register on a machine outside. Maybe the most difficult step was knowing how to get the door to open once the registration had been completed. Breakfast was also a little expensive.

Very well located hotel, you can do almost everything by walking, and if not, the transport works excellently. The reception was very friendly, we even arrived before check in and they had no problem entering us before. The room was as shown in the photos.

Good location, lovely and clean. We only stayed one night on route to river cruise. Staff very helpful with directions to river cruise.

Breakfast was expensive as there was 5 of us staying. We went out to tearoom nearby. Hotel doesn't look like much from outside but lovely and clean inside.

I didn’t like the fact that the bathroom door was made of glass so it was a little seethrough and it didn’t close properly; there was still a space between the door and the door frame.

The hotel’s location is very good, close to tram stops. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable ( there are kettle and refrigerator in the room).

Sweet and helpful staff. Organised the parking for me, offered suggestions of sights to see, where to go out and what to do in Basel. Our departure was also managed well. Room was perfect, bathroom was great for what we needed it for. Thank you!

The walls were a bit thin, I could hear people walk around in their rooms. Only movements, could not hear their voices.

We were met with an excellent front desk staff. The room was very clean.

The lighting system was confusing. The lights, both in the bedroom and the bathroom, were either all on or all off. We could not make individual selections. Could have been operator error?

All the amenities and very friendly and nice staff and nice view from the balcony, I enjoyed drinking the tea in the balcony

Very friendly staff, and in particular the receptionist at check-in provided a lot of very useful information. She really takes good care of guests! The rooms are quiet and super clean. The parking is somewhat difficult to enter and the spaces are quite narrow.
