Hotel Balcón de Europa

The hotel overlooks the beach and has a nice atmosphere. Close to lots of shops and restaurants and comes alive at night. We were on B&b basis but first night we had dinner at the hotel @24 euros for buffet and it was well worth it. Views over the sea as well.

We were told to look for the municipal car park to park our car. It isn’t so straight forward to find and when parked at 18 euros a day, you have a 5/10 minute walk with your baggage to the hotel as it is in a pedestrianised area.

There was nothing to dislike. Every single detail of my stay from the start to finish was taking care with the fenomenal staff, always going the extra mile.I stayed in room 607,the views left me speechless, just astonishing;))))

Everything perfect, location, food, room, facilities. Beautiful hotel.

Booked a taxi at reception for the return trip to the airport. We didnt ask the price as we expected it to be a metered taxi. When it arrived, it was the hotels own taxi. The vehicle was equipped with a meter but it was switched off. When we got to the airport, the fee was far higher than the taxi we got when we arrived a few days earlier. This 'fee' should have been detailed when the taxi was booked or else the meter should be switched on.....

Breakfast was very good with a wide choice and well prepared. The views from the breakfast restaurant are amazing. Staff attentive and quick to bring tea/coffee and clear tables.

Waiters in El Mirador cafe/bar were appalling. We were ignored on arrival and when our drink order was taken it was forgotten. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned another evening and were ignored and it took over 40 minutes to get a drink. I know it can be busy but here the service was very poor and the attitude worse. This was a real shame as all the other staff in the hotel were lovely from the cleaner at the pool to the breakfast staff.

Location was perfect. Our room was in an ideal position. Staff were very friendly and helpful Breakfast options were plentiful and exceeded our expectations We booked 3 rooms and the hotel ensured all 3 rooms were on the same floor and very close to each other (without us needing to ask) Although the beach is not private for the hotel it felt that way. The beach club staff were great at setting up umbrellas and sun lounges for everyone This trip was very special as my sister is battling terminal cancer, and we wanted to spend some quality time with her and her children. I didn't mention this to the hotel, however the staff still went above and beyond and made the stay memorable. I will be forever greatful for the hotel giving us a lifetime of memories to look back on.

People smoking on the balconies. I really think you should not allow this, as non smokers this was really unpleasant.

This hotel is fantastic, first class from the staff to the room’s to the food.

They could deal with any situation that arrives.

Our flight arrived late at night and when we arrived we were tired and hot ....we were greeted with such kindness and help .We were treated to a very welcoming drink and were checked in with no rush or hassle. From day 1 of our holiday the staff could not do enough for us.This is an exceptional hotel....location and food are unbelievable. The cleanliness of everywhere in the hotel is unbelievable and the view from the beautiful beach side restaurant at night has to be seen to be appreciated

Leaving it to come home.It was a balm on the soul after the last few turbulent years we experienced

Fantastic location, right in the centre of everything. Spotlessly clean with maid service every day. Comfortable room with a gorgeous view of the small private beach. Towels provided by the hotel for the beach and pool. You could change them every day by bringing them to reception between 10:00 and 12:00. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They always had a smile and asked if we were enjoying our holiday. Great choice for breakfast each day. There was lots of fruit, yogurt, different breads, a variety of juices. Hot and cold buffet. Fresh pastries each day. They had an omelette and crepe station where you could get your choice cooked fresh. This was the closest room we ever had to the beach. We could open the patio door and listen to the waves for hours. You could smell the sea. It was amazing. The location was fantastic. All the restaurants and bars were within 10-15 minutes walk. At least four different beaches within a few minutes walk. Convenient for the bus station if you wanted to go to Frigiliana.

The hairdryer isn't great if you have long hair. It's in the bathroom attached to the wall. It's the type where you have to keep a button pressed in all the time to make it work. There is no cool setting or concentrator nozzle on it, which made it difficult to dry my hair. It was ok, but I'd bring my own hairdryer the next time. Some mornings, the hot food section for breakfast was actually cold. I know it's hard to keep food hot in a buffet, but maybe they could look at this issue. There is a microwave so I could heat up the food if I needed to. The view from the restaurant more than made up for the minor problem.

The location is amazing, direct access to an amazing beach with free loungers for the hotel guests, swimming pool and the beautiful view from the breakfast restaurant. We had a lovely stay!

It’s a pity that the jacuzzi barely works. And on Booking, they advertise that they have 3 swimming pools. There is only one. But that’s not a problem. Also, I think that the sweet options for breakfast could be improved, but that’s also a minor thing
