Hotel Kuretakeso Insadong

It was super quiet, which is basically my top criteria. And it was super clean. And it was affordable. I booked on a variety of apps (Booking.com and Agoda) because the cost was about 25% of booking through the hotel itself haha. Location is walking distance to tons of tea shops and restaurants in Invading and close to public transport.

The staff were ... frustrating. They'd wake me up with phone calls at midnight when there was a language barrier and I couldn't even understand what they were saying. Turns out it was something that 100% could wait till morning. Even though I had the Do Not Disturb sign up, the housecleaner would knock until I got up and answered in the morning, and I kept trying to tell the front desk to ask her not to, but there was a language barrier. Understandably most of the staff don't speak English, so it's maybe not the best fit for non-Korean speakers like me. Also advertised included breakfast was not present because of COVID.

Great location and lovely view from the deluxe twin room. I stayed here twice during my trip, the first time in a deluxe twin and the second time in a standard double. There was no view in the standard but still very comfortable. Worth the small extra cost for the deluxe room with an incredible view! Staff were friendly and spoke English pretty well, which isn’t always the case in Korean hotels. You can easily walk to the main historic sites in Seoul.

The pillow had a plastic cover which was very uncomfortable and made loud noises with even the slightest movements. My partner and I woke up multiple times each night. Please replace the pillows.

My friend and I booked a standard double room for 7 nights. Room is well maintained and clean. Essentials (e.g. towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hairdryer, and water) are provided except for disposable ones like toothbrush and toothpaste due to post pandemic reasons. Water pressure is good and we especially like that the toilet has bidet. 👍🏼 Staff was nice to lend us their umbrella on rainy days. They also assisted us to arrange a taxi going to the airport at 3AM. It’s strategically situated near shopping streets, restaurants and cafe. Nearest bus or subway station will take you around 6min walk.

The location of this hotel was near many restaurants and shops and to many of the Seoul sites as well as easy access to subway lines and the airport bus. The cleaning staff provided great service.

The lighting was inadequate. There was no bedside light and overhead pot lights shone on the ends of the beds and did not provide any light for reading. Light switches for the overhead lights were at the end of the bed. This meant that I had to feel for the switches when I wanted to use the bathroom. It seemed that many amenities were not available during the period that I was there. - AC, restaurant.

Rooms were modern and clean. Fridge was modern and nice. Toilet had bidet function. Shower area was also modern and nice. Staff were very accommodating and nice. Location was very close to one station and decently close to another. Located by a popular shopping area that also had some restaurants and cafes. Nice elevator.

The bed was pretty hard, but still sleep-able. The hallways sometimes looked old like big stains and cracks in the wall if you looked carefully, but nothing like that in the room.

It was our second time in the hotel and we stayed almost for a week. The first time was for two days a week before that. Stuff was helpfull, the room clean. Ones we put a "not disturb" sign on our door and a cleaning lady left a bag with fresh towels and additional hygenic products on the door handle. It was very nice. We used a hotel laundry this time. It was like 3000 won for the washing mashine and 3000 won for the drying one and you can even buy a detergent at the registration counter which is also very cheap. And again the hotel is situated in a very comfortable area from where you can reach differend destinations by foot or to take a bus, there is plenty of public transportation to any directions

The location is great and staff is nice and helpful. The staff allowed me to check-in early at noon. After long journey, we only need rest and take shower. Thank you so much.

The room has smell from the carpets. But it doesn’t matter once you already in the room. The entrance of the hotel is hard to noticed for both. I have an experience to giving information to Korean guest to find the extrance of the hotel at midnight. (even Korean cannot find it) There are two entrance but the behind building is closed at night. You need to find the other entrance at the parking lot which is nearby the Park BBQ restaurant.

The location, a quaint , old fashioned, charming oasis in the busy metropolis of Seoul. Good view over Seoul. It was near the palaces and near many excellent restaurants,. and a suprising number of great jazz bars The high tech toilet was excellent once one learnt how to drive it. we would return there again.

We did initially have a tiny room , and the so called bath was too small for my tall partner to do other than sit up in and wet 6 cm of his body. We did upgrade to a much larger room with a normal bath . I would recommend that one does not take the cheaper option.
