This recently opened hotel is hard to find, but worth it if you like a little adventure and charming surroundings. Make sure you drop off your bags before parking because the hotel is an uphill hike from the parking lot. It's a beautiful place nestled in the hills and our room had a view of the ocean in the distance. The hotel has beautiful gardens to explore - romantic and private. And just above the hotel is a great medieval bar, where if you walk to an outdoor table in back, you'll have superb views.

No hot water due to the heat pump being broken. Room was slightly noisy due to the age of the building and other loud/happy guests.

This is a beautiful old house, a relict of much grander times in Portuguese history, and well located near one of the grand palacios dotted around Sintra. It's a hellish drive to find and to leave, on account of the narrow roadways, almost impossible for strangers without GPS I'd say, but once there it's a short walk to one of the centres with restaurants, bars shops and curio stalls- very touristy and probably crammed to uncomfortable levels during the high season. The check-in at the hotel was friendly and informative, but the desk was unmanned after 9 pm and no-one there at check-out in the morning. In fact the place seemed under-staffed. Nevertheless the room was clean, comfortable and very spacious, with a huge bathroom, but slightly underprepared in that tea, coffee and sugar hadn't been re-supplied after the previous guests. That was fixed as soon as we brought it to the attention of the receptionist. There is no dining, but a faux-medieval bar/restaurant next door does an excellent tostada, along with wine, beer and cocktails. As regards the "Art and Nature Experience" we didn't really notice the art, and the grounds, while clearly massive, and interestingly planted, are more untended horticulture than natural. They provide an interesting walk, though.

The quinta is located in a georgeous garden with lots to discover, a little bit outside Sintra so it is very tranquil and silent during the night. The room was nicely decorated, the main area is simply beautiful with lots of colors, staff are super friendly and you can see that they put a lot of love into the house. This has lots of potential and will become even more beautiful when they renovate the rest of the estate. Also there is a beautiful spot to watch the sunset over the ocean.

Breakfast was really small and there was no variation. Also my room (01) was facing the outer entrance, so I had to keep one window shut, otherwise everybody could see into my room. And getting there requires you to walk at least 15 min from the town or drive by car, which is complicated due to the traffic.

Quinta dos Lobos' staff were exceptional and very helpful. The historic architecture of the buildings turned-into-a-boutique hotel were very interesting, comfortable and convenient to the sites and features of Sintra and while still providing solitude and privacy in a natural setting. It was an excellent value.

Property management could have been more transparent about the low ceilings in our room (#7 I think) on the website. At a minimum the Bed should be placed in a location in the room to avoid guests hitting their heads on the ceiling. It is obvious from the marks on the ceiling that we were not the only guests who hit their heads on the ceiling when getting in and out of bed. Guests should also be warned about the sewage odor emitting from the shower drain in this room. It is really unacceptable as the smell could also be detected in the room. If the drain cannot be repaired to eliminate the odor, then a rubber cap should be provided in the shower to block the smell when the shower is not in use.

Just beyond the busy tourist attraction of Quinta da Regaliera, this boutique hotel is a beautiful and serene oasis surrounded by forested hills and beautiful blooms. My room number 5 had a view of the Atlantic Ocean in the distance and I woke up with beautiful bird song. The host Diane, was very gracious and helpful and gave me a tour of the facilities upon arrival explaining the fascinating history of the building and grounds and pointing out perfect places in the garden to enjoy a glass of wine and bask in the setting sun. I had a peaceful guided meditation in the verdant garden in the morning - a perfect way to start the day. A medieval pub is next door which specializes in mead and cider and the centre of Sintra is just a 15 -relatively flat- stroll away for more eating options. This is a perfect and peaceful retreat to base yourself in Sintra and I’m looking forward to repeating the experience.

Sintra is very popular with tourists and becomes very busy. This hotel, a 20 minute walk from the centre, is an oasis of calm and tranquility. The property is >100 years old which leads to individual rooms and quirky plumbing. The owners were very welcoming and provided very useful advice on the local historical attraction and how to get to them. One of the main palaces in very high in the hills. One of the greatest attractions was the fact that the hotel has extensive grounds. We spent a few hours in the sun with a book and a bottle of wine just chilling. Car parking is available.

Sunday night is music night in the neighbouring 'pub'. The owner was concerned about this but it didn't bother us unduly. It was instrumental music and not singing and, we thought, quite melodic. The roads around Sintra are narrow and windy with a lot of one way flow. The best way to get around is walking or by Tuk-Tuk.

We spent 4 fabulous days at the hotel and were totally in awe by the beauty of the premises and the hospitality of the team of Quinta dos Lobos. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. Waking up to the chirping birds and soft sun rays through the windows was divine. Quinta is well-located just a short walk from Quinta da Regaleira and the old town and has a fun medieval pub nearby. We were warmly greeted by Shahadat, who showed us the place and gave us the most wonderful recommendations for the places of interest in Sintra. Looking forward to our next visit very soon.

Very nice, clean facility, with convenient bar/restaurant on site. rustic location and friendly service which was very helpful. it’s close to a palace so is convenient to start from; just a tough drive so would suggest a taxi to the location unless you are super comfortable with tight winding mountain roads in the area. they do have a parking location if you do drive, but expect a moderate uphill walk back to the hotel from the lot. the walk to downtown is a hefty walk, and you won’t be able to get a cab or taxi.

We had the most wonderful experience staying at this absolutely beautiful boutique hotel. All the rooms are tastefully decorated with great attention to detail. The hotel is set in idyllic grounds and within easy walking distance of the centre of Sintra. The breakfast is superb, made to your specific requirements and delivered to your room, if you so wish, in a delightful picnic hamper. However, it is the level of personal, professional, friendly and attentive service that you receive at this hotel, that raises it to another level. The staff can not do enough for you and in this respect, I would especially like to thank Shahadat, who made us feel so special during our stay. All in all, we had a fabulous time and would love to return one day.

The hotel is addressing some issues with the electricity supply, however, they ensured we had plenty of hot water for our showers when we needed it and we were given an extra heater for our room. As noted above, nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
