Loved the hotel and location except no parking that was a huge problem but eventually figured it out. The staff was superb and helpful. Food was good, room had a beautiful view. Great stay, loved the town also

The only thing we didn't like was the non parking, just have to wait a long time for a space to open up during the busy season

The location is perfect, right in the center. Nice welcome refreshments. Nespresso coffee in the room and in the lobby, is well appreciated.

The hotel maitenance is rather poor. The toilet water system had to be fixed while we were in the room. The toilet sit was cracked. There was no cleaning brush for the toilet. We asked to get one, but didn't. The reception is on the 4th floor. This is marked very poorly in the elevator. People kept going up and down the floors, looking for the exit/reception. We were surprised to find out that the parking is not free, and costs 15 Euros per day. Getting to the parking garage requires special driving skills in very narrow streets. The breakfat is rather basic.

Location couldn’t be better, a minute walk from the main square. Parking is available at a price but if you’re going to stay here it’s worth the cost because Sintra parking is very difficult.

The location of the hotel is its strongest point by far. The property itself is not in the top shape, but it is more than decent with very comfortable beds, clean rooms, spacious newly refurbished bathroom and a good size balcony with a view of the National palace. It is located right in the center of Sintra, which is very convenient for all the sightseeing and shopping and restaurants, but might be awkward getting Uber to pick you up, because the streets in the center can be congested. All in all, a great spot for exploring Sintra, I would love to return and would choose the NH Hotel again. The strongest point of the NH Hotel are the staff, everybody was very kind and helping.

There is a strong smell of the drains in the bathroom, but that is the way it is in all the buildings in the old part of town..it is something that cannot be changed easily. My friends payed for an extra breakfast, 14 euros if you book it the night before and 17 if you ask for it in the morning...they claim it is not worth the money. I prefered having my breakfast in the nearby cafes and enjoying a coffee and pastel de nata with a view.

The location was absolutely the best in the very center of Sintra and a little off to the side. We chose it because it offered on-site parking and 24/7 front desk staffing. We were driving from the Algarve and not sure how late we would arrive. Originally, I wanted a more boutique hotel but was happy with our choice. Our room was spacious and had lovely views. The bathroom was fairly large. While we had to pay for parking, it was easily available under the hotel back entrance… a real plus with a car in Sintra. Elevator service provided access from the garage to reception and check-in. Breakfast was very good with lovely views. The hotel had a nice lobby and bar area. Beds were fairly comfortable. Most importantly, individual temperature controls for the room worked well during a heat wave!!!

It’s hard to say specifically, but rooms, although modern, felt like they needed a little TLC. Our toilet periodically wouldn’t flush. Small issues… so we would still recommend it.

Hotel is well located for a visit to Sintra. The staff were very friendly and, generally, very helpful. Particularly liked the bar/restaurant area and the staff therein. Excellent view from our room though a bit noisy (traffic and building work) in the morning.

We arrived a little early for the 3pm check in (about 2:30) and our room was not ready and we were asked to wait, expecting half an hour or so. In reality, our room was not ready until nearly 4:30pm and we kept having to check the status (no-one kept us informed). That sort of delay is unacceptable. Once we got to our room, they keycards failed to work and we had to get them re-programmed. The keycards then failed again the second day.

Excellent location in the historic centre opposite the national palace and close to some other sites and transport. Good bar and restaurant with balcony and sunset views. Excellent breakfast. Very good friendly helpful staff in bar/restaurant/breakfast area/reception. Very clean. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Our room had a balcony and view of the national palace opposite, historic centre, mountains (with Moorish castle). Close to bars & restaurants & shops.

Just a suggestion. There's a good small local brewery in Sintra. It would have been nice if some of their beers were available at the hotel bar too.

Superb view of Sintra from room 804. Room had a large terrace overlooking Sintra towards the castle. The hotel was next door to the Royal Palace. Many of the Sintra sights were an easy walking distance. Other sights, such as the Pena Palace, could be reached by TukTuk, bus or taxi. Excellent breakfast at the hotel. A buffet with a wide choice and also egg dishes made to order. A large secure car park is available under the hotel and reached by a lift straight into the hotel.

Outside furniture on the terrace was sparse, old and could be a better quality. A shame the flower beds surrounding the terrace weren't better stocked with plants. Daily room maid service was on both days late in the afternoon at a time when we wanted to be in the room.

Property was clean and it’s proximity to Central Sintra could not be better! I arrived late, and there was no food to be found, except by the amazing Bar staff – Diogo and Hugo. Those two made my short stay amazing. They cut up fruit for me to tide me over till the morning. We shared stories and many laughs in a very short! They really connected with me as a guest! Professional, extremely courteous, and hilarious! Do not lose these employees, because they make the hotel great! Couldn’t say more other than to give them a raise which, hopefully if you share with them, they will probably tell their boss “I told you, so!” Hopefully she gives them one!! (and they did not put me up to this - LOL!). in hotels, and I recognize great talent when I see it.

Only downside is the parking. Had to park on the street so make sure you don’t arrive late.

Excellent location, very spacious room, with great view to the valley, quinta da regaleira and Biester Palace. The style of the rooms and the hotel are more modern, rather than traditional. Some improvements can be made, to improve the aesthetics, such as painting the building for example. However, it is a very decent hotel, clean, with friendly staff and in the best location to my opinion. Both palaces mentioned above were also in walking distance. Just a minute walk from the Sintra Palace and all the restaurants and tourist shops. And also few minutes walk from the bus stop for 434 and 435 buses, that take you to other places such as pena palace. 15min walk from the train station ( best to take 434 and 435 from there, to my opinion, as it is the starting point). On the way back I took a taxi because my luggage were heavy and there was a part where the road was quite steep. However, that's the case everywhere in Portugal. I would definitely choose to stay there again if I visit Sintra.

The restaurant was a bit overpriced , especially considering the dishes offered. Very good quality of ingredients but the food itself was a bit plain and basic. However, you can have a drink and enjoy an amazing view of the valey, especially during the sunset time it is really beautiful.
