Monte Santo Resort

Good size apartments. We stayed in 2 bed townhouse. Swimming pool for the colony, kind of private, away from the main pool. Hotel situated in quiet area away from town, so peaceful.

Far from main town centre, you will need a car or uber. We visited in sept, very few or none kids activities, playground is a bit outdated, but kid enjoyed the warm pool. As a 5-star resort, little gestures goes a long way. We had early morning flight, so couldnt make the breakfast as it wasnt open till 8am. Breakfast was included in our booking, so we asked if we could grab some pastries for kid on the way, but the staff wouldn’t allow. Its not a complaint but those little gestures will leave a lasting impact on visitors.

The place was lovely! Service was really good! Every day we got our apartment refreshed with clean towels, cleaned dishes and made bed! Pool was great, Sauna was a little bit more than used but it was still functional! The place is not too far from the city centre so location wise it’s in a great spot! We didn’t used the spa or gym or neither the restaurant part so nothing to say about that, but out family had a great stay overall!

Although breakfast was tasty, the only thing that was changing was the fruit section. No fresh veggies… Otherwise - all the same each day, but it was buffet so you could at least vary, I guess. Coffee machine made instant coffee but there was an espresso machine so you could become your own barista for a better taste for coffee if you will… If you can get annoyed from ants then be careful not to place food in an open space for too long because they can find their way into the apartment!

Great breakfast with many options for both cold and warm food. The pool has a generous amount of chairs and is overall very pleasant. The rooms are nice; large, and clean, and well equipped. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive.

The TV set could use some updating. It can be quite tedious to click through hundreds of channels without a guide, especially, when the TV is extremely slow to respond. The wooden surfaces around the pool area are in great need of repair. Loose boards and screws are a factor to consider especially when the kids want to run around freely but cannot. to be clear, this is mostly on a small path between the pool and the pond, as well as the two bridges between the outer edge of the pool and its island. The playground needs (more) shaded areas.

Beautiful condo in a quite location, away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Faro. If you looking to party, this is not the place. But if you are there for some peace and quite with family, enjoying the pool, spa, yoga etc., then this is the place to go. We had previously stayed in a dingy 2-bedroom apartment in Faro for 3 days, with pedestal fans. It was on the beach but otherwise it was not so comfortable and nice. This place; however, is awesome and costs us even less. We had to return to Faro/Algarve area for kayaking tour to the caves which was previously cancelled. We started looking for a place to stay for one night and this place popped up. It was cheaper and 10 times better. THIS PLACE HAS AIRCONDITIONING. And it's closer to the Benagil area. If I were to return to this region, this is the first place that I would check. Also, the staff could not be any more exceptional. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

Just a recommendation: A hose or a water outlet near the front of the condos/apartments or in a convenient place nearby to wash off the sand from your feet, so that the interior doesn't get dirty.

Breakfast; Nice buffet that should have something for everyone. Could mark better products wrt allergy etc (son is allergic to nuts) Many swimming pools - Very clean, with sandstone tiles that are not hot in sun and non-slippery, and plenty of sunbeds. Very comfortable rooms - both wrt sofas in living room and beds. Nice bathrooms. Well equipped kitchens. Late check-out (1200).

Air condition barely worked - solution was to make air passing through by opening bathroom window and doors from bedroom. But in July/August..?? Wifi worked on and off. And TV channels had Very variable reception.

Perfect for a family with 2 teenagers. We will come back again. There was a cat in black colour who came to my villa every night and he's so cute that we let him go inside & bought him cat food. Hope you can give him some food while you meet him. Swimming pools and all other facilities were also good.

We had a BBQ buffet dinner but the food was a bit cold since we came after 8:30pm. The food variety was limited. We found some ants on the food. When we reported no more grilled beef to the manager, they immediately delivered the new plate for us.

The pools are great: the indoor one is warm and the outdoor is cold. The rooms are really clean, spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. Shower is good and the bed is really comfortable. It’s good that we always had a parking space near the apartment. Staff was always super friendly and prompt to help. One thing I lived is that there’s a WhatsApp option to talk to the front desk, this resolved things way quicker and assisted a lot to get online material about the hotel hours, restaurant menu and map.

The electronic equipments in the room. TV wasn’t smart and didn’t even had a HDMI cable, so no use for the TVs (only if you want to watch local TV). The sound system is super old, no Bluetooth and there’s a DVD player (?). I think a renovation on the TVs would be well suited, as the rooms are great but they seem old when you think about this.

The town house we stayed it was beautiful and very clean. The pool area just outside was perfect for my kids and we didn't have to struggle finding sun loungers as we could see them from the back patio. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were spacious. Staff seemed nice and spoke very good english

The ants!! We made sure all doors and windows were closed at night, but the first morning we woke up to hundreds of ants downstairs. However considering the area its not a suprise and was easily managed with some spray and a good mopping

Magnificent accommodation, large and very clean in a great location. The pool is huge and the indoor pool is a bonus when the water outside is a bit cool. The whatsapp communication was great (could have been more effective tho). Staff were very friendly and plates were cleared away at breakfast very quickly.

The kids club on paper looks amazing but I did feel it was disorganised and my children just left it to come and see me which worried me. The restaurant menu wasn’t targetted at families and I wasn’t aware of a children’s menu until we were due to leave. Communication wasn’t great as the ‘zumba’ session had no participants yesterday because no-one knew about it. prices for food and drink seemed expensive.

Everything. We were upgraded upon arrival, which was much appreciated. Very minor problems found on entering the apartment, but these were immediately resolved - not an issue

A small percentage of staff seemed to have a problem with both the Portuguese and English language and ordering at times became an issue. I appreciate that we visited in the very high season and possibly extra staff (not your normal) were brought in to assist. It is a small point, but worth mentioning.
