Pestana Palm Gardens

Located about 1km outside of town towards Beganil, Pestana Palm Gardens is a resort complex of tourist apartments. While some of the units may have impressive ocean views, the standard suites are basic one bedroom apartments with a kitchenette in the living area and no view, although I could see a sliver of ocean from the bed. The unit was clean and in good shape, built with good quality materials, but is dated with lots of light oak. The rooms are good sized and there is plenty of storage space. The unit had a good Wi-Fi connection and plenty of outlets for charging electronics. The bed, however, is just OK and the towels are the thin scratchy kind. The kitchen is fine for breakfast but didn’t have any knives for cooking other than a bread knife. The bathroom is good sized for Europe with a bath/shower combo and counter space around the sink. Amenities included a safe and hairdryer. The water is scalding hot if you are not careful. Common areas include a well maintained pool and lounge area next to the restaurant, but there are no ocean views. Parking is in front of the units. This is a fine place to stay, but I think there are better options in Carvoeiro.

Room is a bit dated. No knives for cooking in the kitchen.

We had a very good stay here. Its a 5-10 minute walk to an outstanding beach. We appreciated the free on site parking, the pool was excellent and the facilities were super nice. Extremely beautiful grounds and everything was well-kept. The apartment was spacious and comfortable.

We were disappointed with the quality of the food at the on-site restaurant - we found it bland and expensive and ended up preparing more of our own meals than expected. They did not provide laundry detergent, which we didnt realize, so we had to find transportation to drive us to a grocery store. Its quite a long walk into downtown carvoeiro (30+ minutes), which was OK in the late evenings but difficult in the heat of the day.

The location is perfect. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Just far enough from the city center, yet it was within walking distance to the beautiful Praia do Vale das Centeanes. The unit we were in had an amazing terrace view of the ocean and it was roomy and comfortable for my family of 6. The property also has a fabulous restaurant on site called Restaurante Sal e Tal that has a very fresh and tasty offering for continental breakfast and accommodates take away dinners even when their dining room is completely full.

The only thing I would recommend is that the upgrade the units a little. You could tell it had been a while since they’ve updated it. However, it was clean and comfortable all the same.

Second time staying in the Pestana Palm Gardens. Loved our house - with a back terrace and garden, balcony and roof terrace that faced the sea and got sunshine most of the day. Plenty of places to sit/lie outside as well as three locations to eat (two tables outside and one table inside). The kitchen is well equipped and the cleaning staff were thorough and very friendly (especially the girl from Ukraine). The location is great - on the cliff walk, right beside a beautiful beach, close to the town and restaurants but in a quiet location. If we go back to Carvoeiro we’ll be staying again.

The inside decor is a little dated. The toilets would keep running after flushing which was a little annoying. One morning there was a pool of water in the dining area but maintenance was on site very quickly to rectify it.

Location was great. We enjoyed walking out to the cliffs in the back or sitting on the lawn chairs and watching the sunset

Housekeeping could do a little better in cleaning. Specifically the showers. The black (mold?) in the showers wipes off easily from the tile surfaces but that was not done prior to or during our stay. For management: It would really be nice if you added a simple curtain to the kitchen's that look out onto the parking where all the neighbors can look in.

I liked the layout of the hotel complex. Very clean ground, gardens and pool area. It’s a bit of a tough walk into town and the beach coves but we’ll worth the effort. The rooms had everything you require for a stay and it has easy off road car parking.

Its getting a bit tired inside the rooms, Comfy but dated. Our room had two balconies, the front of the lounge was just big enough for one chair and the air conditioning unit. The rear balcony was always in the shade. The complex has a nice looking but expensive restaurant, the others near by are a good walk away.

Nice accommodations near the beaches and Hanging Valleys Trail. Wonderful pool to cool off in. Nice big kitchen, only stayed one night so did not use. Parking right in front of unit. Beautiful flowers, and the upper deck was nice to have a drink at and watch sunset. Definitely try the restaurant by the

Front desk staff seemed jaded...arrived at 3 to check in, and they had NO MORE POOL towels for the day!! why can't they leave them in the room so when we had them? none in the morning either until later. sofa bed not the most comfortable, again it's only 1 night. Sigh...its the little things.

The location is very beautiful - there is a world class beach 5 minutes walk away (Praia do vale dr centeanes). Our property was very good - very comfortable and clean, but a little dated. This didn’t bother us though and for the price, it was great value for money. Breakfast was very good too, but a little limited. The staff are excellent and the service was consistently good.

There was nothing we disliked. Location is good, but Carvoeiro is a hike when walking with small children. Without kids the walk (1.6km) would have been fine.

Great Location, Pool was lovely and the staff at reception and the bar in Particular were great, super attentive and remembered are regular orders which is always nice! Apartment was well equipped and had everything we needed!

Could have done with a blind on the kitchen window. We had some money go missing, which arguably I should have put in the safe and not in my bedside table drawer. it was only 10 Euros and we decided not to mention it as felt we had no proof and was just our word against theirs but it didn’t ruin our stay!

Great location. Good kitchen and kitchenware supllied for self catering. 15min walk to Carvoeiro. Stunning spot for sunsets on the coast path.

Parking. We were low season with low occupancy yet still couldn't park our hire car outside our apartment (G2). Hotel needs to number bays to assign parking spot to apartment/townhouse. Children's play area was not needed by us but if your imaging a large play area you will be very disappointed. Very small with just couple of plastic wendy house & slide.
