NAU Salgados Dunas Suites

There are several pools and they’re all very nice. Not crowded pools. Enough lounge chairs for guests. Beautiful vegetation around the pool and a beautiful deck to get to the beach. Beautiful spacious beach. Second time at this resort. We love the resort but the staff is terrible. They rarely smile. The daytime restaurant staff look so sad and don’t smile. Reception staff not smiling much either. That really bothered us. Amazing resort but the service is average because of the staff. Bathroom average compare to the room. Room looks very nice though. Avoid being above the breakfast room and the bar restaurant in the main building since it gets very noisy as early as 7:30 and as late as 11:30 pm. Resort next door had 3 weddings while we were there, so it was difficult to fall asleep until 2am. I would still highly recommend this place because of its location and it’s beautiful pool areas. There is also a supermarket 5 mins walk away.

Never smiling staff. No water in the room for a 5 star hotel. It’s only free on the 1st day. Not normal. No hooks in the bathroom to hang the bathrobes. The noise between the rooms. You can literally hear people’s conversations.

The rooms huge and spacious. The amenities are really nice - great buffet breakfast, nice big pools and easy access to a good beach. A lot of good restaurants are 2-3 mins away (driving) or a 10 min walk away.

The room cleaning was not up to par for a 5 star property at all. The 1st day they forgot to refill the bottles of water, the 2nd day they left only 2 towels for 4 of us. As a 5 star hotel, and paying over $450 a night, I should not have to remind them of each of these things that are basic. Also, the rooms are massive, but the bathrooms are so tiny and dark - not good design at all. Does not feel like a 5 star.

Although our stay was short we did manage to have time in the pool, it was an amazing setting. The room was large with a pool and ocean view that was first class with comfortable beds and clean.

After recieving many warm welcoming messages from the hotel leading up to our stay. However the checkin process was cold and not very welcoming. Although our stay was short and offer of help with our luggage would have been appreciated. This was not offered. In the evenening I asked for directions to the pool. The gentleman at reception seemed offended by my request. Overall a beautiful hotel but customer service not 5 star as advertised.

everything!! Their staff are definitely the biggest asset to the hotel! Everyone we met was super friendly and helpful, especially Duarte at reception! Despite we had problem with our flight and had to check in a day later than we booked for. He got it all sorted out for us. On arrival, Duarte checked us in, he was super efficient and welcoming! All other reception staff were great too.. good recommendation of local restaurants during our stay! We stayed in their 3 bedroom suite... and oh wow! the seaview, the size of the living area, kitchenette... we have nothing to complain at all! Pools were amazing. Restaurants/Bar are good. Location is great... All in all a 10 out of 10 stay! We will certainly be back with the family again in the near future!

The hotel is fine, it is very clean and the facilities are great. The pools are huge and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

For a 5 star hotel, this did not meet our expectations. The daily room cleaning service is very basic and not thorough. The gym was really small and not well equipped. In the afternoon when we were resting by the pools, they started mowing the lawn for 2 hours straight, right next to the pools. After a DJ followed with really loud music, so there was no chance to rest. The sunbeds by the ocean cost 7,5 euro/ day for one bed. The breakfast was the same every day, no variety at all. No staff by the pools.

The garden area, swimming pools and cleaning was amazing, just a walk from the beach was great as well. The room tight and organised, there is some areas that are asking a refurbishment, such as the bathroom, and living area, but nothing that affected our experience in the place, just for the price it didn’t felt very luxurious, in general was a pleasant experience.

The very thin walls were an issue at night, as we could hear the other guests at night. The buffet dinner was below expectation for the price, lack of options and quality itself of the food, not to mention the asking price for just water.

The room was outstanding. We loved the huge balcony and we had a great view of the pool and the ocean in the distance. The room was huge and we enjoyed the space. Pools were enormous and not too many people at them which was nice. The bed was okay. It had two twin mattresses pushed together so they kept slipping apart a bit. Cold items like fruit at the breakfast buffet were good.

The food was pretty bad. We ate at the buffet for dinner our first night because we were too tired to look for a restaurant. The food was mediocre and it was terribly overpriced. The breakfast buffet would have been okay but everything was cold. They don't seem to have any way to heat the food once it is brought out, so it all sits there forever and gets cold. I'm not sure why they don't have any way to keep it warm. At least they should replace it more often so you have a chance to get some eggs that are not cold.

Hotel facilities are new, plenty of sunbeds in the swimming pool area, breakfast is really good and full of options. They prepared me a surprise for my birthday, really nice from them. Free parking and beach just 2min walk from the swimming pools, however at the beach you have to pay for the sunbeds(provided by a local restaurant). It is definetely a family hotel, so if you don't mind the noise from the kids, I really recommend it for its location and facilities. Staff really nice and kind at all times.

The walls of the room are very thin (dry-wall) so we could hear the other guests talking and it was hard to sleep. Also the room has a door that connects to the other room, so sound isolation is poor. Do not recommend if you have light sleep.

The buffet breakfast was outstanding, something to suit everyone and it was available until 11am which we loved! The food in the bar was so nice we had lunch there every day nearly! There was nothing more the staff could do they were so professional, there was always someone around to help and I really loved the special touch of a birthday cake and a bottle of sparkling wine for my birthday 😊 The room was very spacious (junior suite) and the view in the evening was gorgeous on the balcony! The shower was very powerful and the water was always a lovely temperature! I would highly recommend this hotel for a nice relaxing holiday by the beach!! We also lived the cocktails and milkshakes!!

The WiFi wasn’t great but it’s the only thing I can think of! It isn’t near much nightlife or much else around the complex but a taxi will take you to old town in 5 minutes where there are numerous shops, pubs and restaurants!

Fantastic location with nice beach in front of the hotel. Amazing swimming pool and gardens area. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere (at least this is true in low season). Outstanding breakfast with large variety of food and beverages (including sparkling wine). TOP !!! Free private parking for guests. Friendly crew.

Room decoration does not match 5* standards. Room looks empty and unfinished. Poor quality sofa with some stains on. TV stands 9 meters away from the bed (not a big screen) so with was not easy to watch TV. Small bathroom with a small shower zone (really doesn't look like a 5* hotel).
