Distinction Palmerston North Hotel & Conference Centre

Central location, free parking. Breakfast was nice and lots of options. Room was very quiet and beds and pillows comfy. Everything seemed quite clean. Staff were very accommodating when we had to send someone else to check in for us as we were in a wedding. Easy to find our way round late qt night when we arrived.

Bathroom didn't have an extraction fan which wasn't great.... We went down for breakfast at 9am on Sunday (weekends served until 10am) there wasn't alot of food left and they didn't replenish so we missed a couple of the options that had been on offer (pancakes, pastry and hash browns) was higher end of budget but appreciated two queen beds and location.

we stayed there for 3days and 2nights. secure car parks accessible by key cards. clean and tidy rooms. staff were accomodating. the restaurant serves very good steak and the bar tender makes very good drinks.

the door cards sometimes don’t work as well. took us a few attempts. If you get in to the secured car park late, there will be no more space available. it is first come, first served basis. In saying that, there are plenty of off-street car parks.

Need to modernise exterior of hotel. If i hadnt prebooked it i would have driven past and looked for something else as it doesnt provide an inviting impression. Not a criticism - just some feedback as i would you suggest you may be missing out on some business. Inside was lovely. Would reccomend

Enjoyed our stay while visiting Palmerston North for the first time from Auckland 😊 As my son and I drove down we checked in early hours of the morning - later than expected and they had no problem with this update. The people were so nice - to the staff from reception, the cleaners, to the chef/kitchen staff - they were always friendly and kind and esp. during these trying times (Covid-19) it was so warm to see. Our room was clean & tidy and although most of the time we were out the whole day and most of the night, i appreciated the fresh towels each morning. The buffet breakfast was delicious and we always looked forward to our mornings because of this lol Surberb location to walk the city streets. Definitely will book again next time we are in Palmy. Great location, friendly staff, fresh clean bedding and bed was very comfortable, bathroom was clean with shampoo etc.... and there was plenty of coffee, tea and sugar. Off street car parking was great with easy access in and out of motel.

We couldn't get the heatpump working and we had to use the rubbish bin to hold the door open to make a hot drink

Location is great, the room is sufficient for a short stay as it's a bit cozy. Breakfast was great, check in and out super easy, parking on site also good, and on street parking overnight when the carpark was full. Rooms are quiet and can't hear neighbours once the hallway was empty. Reception staff amazing and helpful.

Wasn't clean on arrival but was remedied very quickly and with no hassle. Room was dated and could do with a refresh.

It was nice with the blackout curtains but when it came to open them up my grandaughter complained because it was so bright! HAHAHA Not really a complaint I would say. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was great. Was unfortunate that the toaster wasn't working properly but you could still toast your bread. Just had to flip it over.

There was, I assumed, a used facecloth that was lying on the floor between the cupboard and the table that the tv was on.

The room size is comfortable and good sized bed. The location is excellent if you're attending an event at the Central Energy Trust Arena. A boutique cinema is close by and some great cafes too.

Not enough lighting, only a main light by the door and then bed side lamps. Would be nice to have had a main room light.

Location was great and the breakfast selection was wonderful

There were no toilet brushes in the bathrooms. It was difficult to pay for the room using the school credit card. This was eventually sorted out but it wasn’t an easy process.

It was a lovely place to stay. Very close to where we needed to be. Food at Nosh was lovely but choice was limited but that was probably a Sunday night. Not big eaters so a smaller light meal would be a good option. Staff very pleasing both at dinner and breakfast. Will become a Distiction member because of the lovely comfort and convenience.
