Copthorne Hotel Palmerston North

Found the beds extremely comfortable and warm. All staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the breakfast very much. It was very convenient to walk to the shops and leave the car safely in your carpark.

The only thing that was hard for me with a back that doesn't bend well, was trying to climb over the bath to use the shower, there were no handrails to assist me. First shower i found hard to get out it was high up, and when i went to get out the bath mat slipped on the beautiful shiny tiles, learnt very quickly i had to bend down and hold on to side off bath to get out.

The room was actually fantastic, bed very comfy, shower great. Very nice for a couple of nights stay, thank you. Staff are amazing kind and positive, nothing a problem. Breakfast great. Hotel is working to improve internal area, maybe this is a start of updating hotel.

slight improvement would be to have a shower rail instead of fixed head and glass shelf instead of metal shelf for soaps, shampoos etc. Air conditioning would be fantastic in rooms especially in summer I would imagine, might be incredibly hard to install through with existing building. Reception chairs and furniture looking tardy. Restaurant area inside looking quite dated in some areas.

First Impression.. Central to CBD, literally a 2min walk to PaknSave, Burger King and the Plaza. Reception area clean and tidy and warm. Our room felt homely, spa bath was a bonus. Breakfast was very yummy!!

ALL staff need to brush up on their customer service skills. Lack of customer care, service and appearance. Disinterested in being the face of The Copthorne. Dinning room and bar area was not inviting. We found previous guests personal belongings in our room and when we handed them back to reception, the young girl just shrugged it off, very unprofessional.

The Copthorne is in a very convenient location with nice surroundings and comfortable rooms.

The maitr d could have made us aware that we could order extra items for breakfast. I am vegan and the only items I could eat were the baked beans & hash nuggets (not 100% sure they were vegan friendly). I didn't know we could order mushrooms & tomatoes until after we'd finished. The step up into the shower could be dangerous for elderly clients.

Great stay. Room was nice and quiet and bed was comfy. Rooms were not over heated or dried by airconditioning. Our room had a heater and a fan to use if necessary. Have stayed before and will stay again. Thank you

Nothing we didn't like. A couple of thoughts - I did wonder why the shower was such a big step up to a raised platform which could be hazard for some. I secretly hoped for shampoo and conditioner not that combo product which is harsh. Lastly, the restaurant was not open when we checked out so could not enjoy breakfast there.

We were looking forward to a coffee once we'd settled in.....NO.....coffee/tea/sugar, etc box was EMPTY! After a phone call to reception explaining we wanted a coffee, a very apologetic lady came to our room.....EMPTY handed! She went away with our "empty box" & e v e n t u a l l y returned with the box full, & 2 cartons of milk. One in our fridge had expired 4 days ago! Also, TV controls were thick with DUST! Everything else about our stay was excellent

The property was in a great location close to town, was gated which was awesome so we knew our truck was secure for the night. The 24hour reception was great as we didn’t arrive until after 10.30pm. The rooms were spotless, very comfy bed, quiet room, loved the Dyson fan! My fav hot chocolate sachets were on offer, the shower was AMAZING!! Staff were friendly & helpful.

The manager arranged immediately a room with seperate beds on our request. Unfortunately he couldn't contact us earlier because of a mix up with our mobile phone numbers - but no problem at all! Much appreciate Breakfast Buffett was great! A great variety on offer for a great start into the day!

Glasses, cups and water cooker in the room could use a bit of a polish ;) ...... but the room was generous in size, clean and tidy as well as the bathroom but the soap contains palm oil - better to avoid that.

The warmth as soon as you stepped through the foyer of The Copthorne, so delightful. Greeted with a smile, yes! Good place to relax if you wanted to. Check-in very quick and pleasant. Lifts - yes, fast. The room itself had a nice calm dècor, good view, window you could open, great lighting, plenty of three-plugs to charge our phones and laptops, good supportive seating. The beds were very comfortable, excellent shower (loved the raised flooring, space and force of waterflow). Breakfast was delicious, awesome variety of foods. Reception was quick and fast when we asked for English Breakfast Tea and milk, thanks.

Sunday breakfast we noticed that the hot food was just warm, we would have appreciated hot food. When we arrived back from our conference on Sunday night, we were disappointed that the English Breakfast tea supply had not been replenished. Was it because it was the weekend?

Well appointed clean room, large comfortable bed, super hot & great pressure shower, great restaurant food, complimentary breakfast, great service at front reception and restaurant, peaceful & calming environment, central location, great parking

Shower- great hot water & pressure especially for a 5-6 floor building but fixed shower rose would prefer & helpful if slide pole/ hose rose version. Room temperature comfortable with heater & or fan & window open for this season but in summer air conditioning would be a must.
