Alpine Rose Motel

The staff were really friendly greeting us, explaining the room and local area, while having a nice chat with us on booking in. The apartment exceeded expectations with lots of space and all the facilities to be comfortable for an extended stay. The location was ideal with a supermarket a short walk away and then the main town centre further down the road. Although on the main road, the low speed limit meant it wasn’t overly noisy during the night.

Although Wi-Fi was provided, the routers appear to be in reception and the signal barely reached our room, low speed and dropouts were a bit of an issue.

The owners were very friendly and helpful with advice about the area. It was terrific to be able to charge the car on-site. The kitchenette was good, with a great stove/oven.

Found the beds a little firmer than usual and the couch backrests needed boosting with pillows. That said, it didn't really take away from a great stay.

hassle free service, the owners were friendly, accommodating, helpful and went the extra mile for us. the staff were friendly and I found the focus on cleanliness was exceptional. I would definitely stay here again.

My only concern was the bathroom in our unit which had a spa bath/shower arrangement, a great idea I guess but for me getting in and out to shower was really difficult as I have arthritis and very dodgy hips, one of which I am on the waiting list to have re[laced. Lifting my worst leg over the edge of the bath was very difficult. Getting back to the floor on the second morning was really hard as there were no handles to grab onto for support. A handle on the wall would help but in saying all that I will know in future to ask those questions and request a walk in shower in my room.

Roger and Carol and amazing hosts, they even offered to pick me up from the train station when I arrived, then the next day I was heading off on a bike trip and they let me stay a bit longer in the room until I was picked up. The room was a great size and had a big bathroom, which is suitable for someone in a wheelchair. There were 2 stove tops, a microwave, fridge and tv with all the sky channels. The motel is opposite New World, so close enough for supplies. Plus they do have breakfast available to you. Totally recommend this motel.

The suite had everything we could have asked for and more. Very well appointed, spacious and comfortable. Carol was an excellent host and we appreciated her service. So different to arriving at a property and having to let yourself in with an electronic keypad. Or tick your name off on a list with no conversation.

The hosts were very helpful on communicating the most suitable room for us (2 adults, 3 kids). They were approachable and friendly. Provided tourist information and made a phone call on our behalf to answer an enquiry. It was well situated to use as a base to explore the local attractions.

Lovely welcome from Carol and she took us over to the room to show us around, which was a nice touch. The room was bright, clean and had everything you needed. The bed was lovely and firm and the linen and towels were very good quality. The overall standard was excellent and although it didn’t look like much from the road, it was a surprise inside.

The unit was clean, spacious with a nice kitchen and new appliances (full stove) The bedrooms were neat clean and spacious. The owner, Carrol, was friendly, helpful and very knowledgable. Will stay at Alpine Rose Motel on own next visit to New Zealand. Highly recommended.

Spacious room, clean and well equipped. Friendly hosts who gave great tips on where to go and good eateries. Extra large and very comfortable bed. Great location close to a supermarket and walking distance from Monteith’s brewery👍.

There wasn’t anything we disliked.
