Cornwall Park Motor Inn

I’ve been staying at this property on and off for over a decade. Its location in central Auckland, easy connection to the motorway in Greenlane, the airport, and other destinations like the Hospitals, Spark Arena and Eden Park is perfect for me. The property itself is still well-maintained and very comfortable, with close proximity to restaurants, fast food, gas stations, supermarkets etc. Newmarket and Parnell are a short drive or bus ride away, as is Mt Eden and the CBD for that matter!

Nothing to dislike.

My primary reason for staying at this property was that it was close to Eden Park where I was attending Women's World Cup for Soccer. It was not only convenient (walking distance), but my friends who live in the area said it was a great location, very safe and easy to get to. I arrived early and the host allowed me to store my bags and shared how I could get WiFi access since I needed to purchase an additional game ticket. Once I checked in, I was impressed with the amenities in the room (full kitchenette, extra bed and massage chair! The host knew that I was trying to figure out transportation and gave me all the options to get to the game (although I chose to walk - it was about a 45 minute walk). She also gave me a map and pointed out recommended places to eat and grocery shop. It was a great choice and I would recommend it.

It was winter. There was a heater in the bedroom, but it would have been nice to have heat in the kitchen, living room area. Other than that, everything was great.

We just went on our honeymoon and stayed at five places. This was our favorite. The bed was great. We had a little sitting room and table. The bathtub was to die for. Huge, fitting a couple. They also had a shower for you. They had little amenities like cookies with your tea and coffee, in room. The bathroom had a towel warmer. Tv was good and visible. People were so kind. It was also in an easy location to see Auckland and grab some food nearby.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating, was so grateful ❤️ The room was pleasant, lovely kitchen facilities, comfortable bed and loved the spa bath.

We were in the end room closest to the road that wasn't too much of a problem , traffic is a thing in Auckland. The gathering of people outside our room the next day chatting and smoking was less desirable. They were a group of men in a van that had the engine running for sometime before they decided to leave, some people are so inconsiderate, when others are having a lay in, and a late check out. The lights above the bed could do with a dusting , and the bathroom needs some repairs around the bath either silicone or new grouting but everything else was great about the room , and the rest was clean.

This motel exceeded my expectations. The staff were very welcoming, the breakfast room service was very good, and each room was serviced daily and clean. I loved that the room had its own heatpump, which made the unit very comfortable. The WiFi was excellent, including streaming Netflix (the TV came with Netflix and Freeview channels).

I had the room in the middle of the upstairs units but could still hear a little of the busy road noise, even with the windows shut. However, it didn't impact my stay or sleep at all.

Very friendly staff, everything we needed in kitchen, TV in every room, bottles of water in fridge appreciated. There was even complimentary 0% beer (I don’t drink beer, but others might find that a nice touch). Lots of pillows to choose between. Walking distance to Alexandra Park Raceway (where we needed to go for tournament).

Heard water trickling when upstairs unit showered/ran water - seemed very loud at 2am! Not a problem when it was later in the morning though of course, & not sure what can be done about where drains located?

The motor inn is well located being on bus routes, walking distance to a railway station. A HOP card is required to take a bus, while train station machines accept cash. The unit was a little small for two people travelling with luggage and I would have preferred a ground floor unit rather than the upstairs one allocated. I should have requested this when booking! The unit itself was well appointed, the bed comfortable.

There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom and the fall on the bathroom floor allowed excess water from the shower to run away from the drainage outlet.

Thoughtfully designed room. Slide out shelf for second piece of luggage worked really well. Lovely staff. Great location close to Cornwall Park. Easy access to a variety of local restaurants. Lovely sunny upstairs room. Enough power points for all our devices. Parking available. Walkable to cafes in Mt Eden. Easy access to airport and city. Not perfect (minor shower leak), but it worked really well for us.

Great central location to where we needed to be, thankful for having the ability to extend our check out, clean facilities and the queen/dole bed was very comfortable.

Parking was a bit tight, really close to the main road so you heard a lot of traffic moving. We booked accommodation for 5 people, only 4 towels were in the bathroom.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay, rooms were very nice, clean & spacious, staff were so friendly and accommodating! The complimentary extras in the room were wonderful extra - Epsom salts for the spa bath, cookies with the tea & coffee etc & bottles of water and milk. The staff even turned the heat pump on in my parents room who were arriving late so the room was warm for them. Highly recommend this place to anyone!
