Vesting Hotel & Restaurant

Nice quaint hotel that I would highly recommend. Overall I really enjoyed my room. I loved the cafe on the church property.

When having to climb stairs to get into bed, there should be a light switch in the bed area to turn off the main room light. I would have liked a more secure place to leave my luggage while I explored Naarden after checkout. I came back to get it and it was still in an open location by the bar. I wasn't happy with the breakfast offered for the price. The breakfast was the same as I purchased at a Budget Hotel in a different city which was lower in price as well as all-you-can-eat buffet. I would have preferred to select off the menu for the price I paid.

Checkin was unbelievably easy. We met the friendly staff at the restaurant foyer and received our room assignment along with room access. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless. I must mention the shampoo, soap, and other amenities were the very best! Last but not least the restaurant food was spectacular and the servers were attentive and accommodating. We ate most of our meals at the Vesting restaurant and the Chef even prepared a nice take away lunch for our next train journey. We visited three countries and found accommodations in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France wonderful all the way around. Among the three of us travelers it was unanimous that the Vesting was our favorite amidst some amazing establishments.

We didn’t have any complaints. There is a small elevator to the above floors which is great when you have luggage.

The hotel was a great combination of old and state of the arts. The room and outside door keys were loaded onto your phone, but the room had wooden beams and a wooden floor. The hotel itself was located just across the street from the old church. The town was small and you could walk the entire town (including the surrounding fortifications) in one day. Yet there was plenty of shopping, cafes, and great restaurants to chose from (including the hotel itself). And the staff were fantastic. I walked to the hotel from the train station which is a little far with luggage. I was going to walk back but instead was offered a ride at check-out.

The hotel is lovely, in the middle of the town, stylish and modern - we also loved that we can unlock the room with our phones! Easy free parking nearby, peaceful surrounding, quiet neighbours... Also, the toiletries were amazing. Would come again!

Not a lot, maybe only the wet room type of bathroom - we do not like very much that the shower is not completely sealed from the rest of the bathroom, had water pools on the floor the morning after. Also, our room, no.9, should have the possibility to open the windows a bit more.

Location is fabulous. Right next to City Hall, the Old church, baker and ice cream a few buidings down... Nice terrace outside overlooking the church or the old city hall. Staff were kind and ordered us a taxi for when we left to the train station. Nice view of our room of the city hall (but was very hot with the sun on it during the day... only the top window opens). There was airconditioning in the room, but we weren't aware of it until we left.

There was no physical key to get into the room. You had to unlock your phone, go to an email, click on keys, and then slide the button to OPEN. We found this very slow and cumbersome. After using my phone for cylcing all day and taking photos and dead when I arrived, which means I could not get into my room. At the moment it is hard to get to if you are using public transport because the bridge that the bus to go through the Vesting is under contruction... so a long walk to another bridge and into the vesting with suitcases.

Directly opposite the Grotesque Kerk in the centre of Vesting. An innovative hotel, the room was small, but the efficient use of space with the raised bed nook made the available space roomy with two comfortable chairs and bench space with all the usual amenities. The bathroom was spacious, the shower recess large, and the shower was excellent. Automatic lights and room entry by mobile phone. Dinner and Breakfast were excellent and all staff friendly, helpful and well trained.

I came to Naarden to attend the Bach concert at the Groote Kerk on 16 June. I was surprised to find that your hotel was exactly opposite the church. I certainly did not have far to go after the concert. The food and the room were all that I could have asked for. A wonderful and happy experience all round. Thank you. And thanks for getting me a taxi to take me to the station at Bussum.

noisy a/c heating (it was cold and they provided us with an electric radiator that made no sound :) ) very basic bathroom decoration (painted concrete) and it was cold in there view from room obstructed by scaffold, this was not announced

The hotel is located in an old building in the very heart of the Naarden fortress (vesting). Despite the fact that the building is old, the "inside" of the hotel is organised to the latest technological standards (e.g. elevators, opening your door with a QR code, online checkin/checkout, etc.). The design of the property is very nice and cozy. Prior to the arrival, we did mention that we're coming for an anniversary, the staff decorated our room with hearts and even left a beautiful hand-signed card which was very nice. We had both our dinner and breakfast served in our room (due to covid-19 regulations) which was great. I definitely recommend on taking both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, although I did find the breakfast to be a little expensive, nevertheless both were very tasty! Overall I can definitely recommend this place for a pleasant stay.

Very nice boutique hotel in one of the prettiest small towns in the Netherlands. Comfortable and spacious room. We particularly liked the little outdoor area attached to the room. We found ample free parking at the end of the street.

Access to the room is entirely based on using a smart-phone link sent to the main guest. This was fine with me but annoying for my kids.
