Bastion Hotel Bussum Hilversum

Overall a comfortable hotel. Good service at the front desk, professional staff on site. A few minutes walking from the city center of Bussum. Quite clean in the common spaces and in the room. Train station in front of the hotel but it doesn't bother at all. Beds were very comfortable and room was very quiet. Ok hotel.

Staff is unresponsive prior to the stay. I sent many messages asking to for a late check-in and to have the two single beds next to each other and never got a confirmation or an answer. When we entered the room, the beds where still separated. Some dust in the room but nothing major.

The location was very good. Access to transportation was 24/7. A bit out of the city location with a metro fare for about £12 roundtrip but just one train to get to the city center. The metro is bang outside the hotel which makes it convenient. In all fairness, it is not heard in your room when the train pass. Parking is free. We would like to come back once the price is friendly. :)

Maybe the price per room. It is a bit expensive. Also, the coffee machine at first was not cooperating with us which was slightly annoying. It worked after several attempts. They have provided 2 capsules only so we asked for more.

The breakfast was amazing as was the convenience of the location, right next to the train station. It made getting around really easy. The rooms were clean and beds comfy

The staff seemed overwhelmed some days and could be a little short with guests. But they did a great job, especially manager Demi who seem to be keeping everything afloat!

The hotel was located next to the P+R, which was quite convenient. The staff helped and answered all my questions and they were very friendly.

I did not like that even though our reservation was for 117 EUR, we got charged 150 EUR, because our rooms got switched or something, which we did not ask for. It's not that I mind this, but I'd like to know about this before I actually stay there and not be surprised the morning after.

Chose this location because of its proximity to the train station, couldn’t have been more convenient! The room was completely adequate fir my needs, across the street to the train station, so it all worked well for me.

The door to my room did not fit well, it needed some maintenance - minor issue, but still needs to addressed.

Spacious room and comfortable beds, shower and facilities. We stayed at the back of the hotel where we didn't really hear the trains despite the hotel being located next to the train station. Very peaceful.

I had booked the first night (a Sunday) through booking.com, which was cheap, but then decided a couple of days later I wanted to stay another night and when I booked direct through the Bastion website I was charged a fair bit more for the Monday night. Apparently, different fees are charged for different nights, but I regretted not having booked 2 consecutive nights straight away.

Good location, well laid out, decent size room, very clean, lovely bathroom particularly the shower. Helpful staff. very nice breakfast particularly the freshly cooked omelette and eggs. Despite facing the station, we could hardly hear it with the windows open.

Was charged for drinks we didn’t have. Reception staff often in the kitchen, notice to say ring bell but no bell on the desk.

Located in peaceful town, but literally right at the train station for going easily to Amsterdam or other cities AND with endless free parking. Trains are very quiet. Staff very friendly.

The most convenient factor about this hotel is its location. It is basically on the Bussum Zuid station. But you will not suffer from train noises in the rooms. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is not dirty, but not the cleanest.

Excellent location, right next to station. Bussum town is extremely beautiful, you would be surprised how much it can charm you. Room was very clean, nice looking and comfy. Had amazing stay there.
