Asgard Hotel

Very convenient location, close the the station and the city centre and yet in a quiet area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with mostly local and organic food, very tasty and high quality. Nice to have a newspaper to read during breakfast. Spatious and nicely designed rooms.

Wifi was very slow and had bad reception in the room (I ended up mostly using a connection with my phone). It would be useful to have a small fridge in the room to keep cold drinks during summer. The mattrass was a bit too soft for my taste. The fixed shower head was quite unhandy (and the shower panes were leaky - puddles on the floor after the shower). These were minor inconveniences, the overall experience was excellent.

This was our 2nd visit. Location was very quiet, but within 10 minutes from the town centre and train station. Perfect for us, who needed to take the train to Assen race circuit. 500 yards from a good selection of bars and restaurants but very quiet at night. Very comfortable beds and the room had everything you would need for a good stay. Exceptionally clean. Nespresso coffee machine much appreciated first thing in the morning. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful.

We loved our short stay at Asgard Hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! They were all such sweet people and always kind and with a smile. I had to do some work and was worried that the internet was going to be slow. Luckily, the hotel had already provided an Ethernet cable in our room which was much faster to work with. I would go back there again for sure. It made our stay in Groningen even more special. Bonus points: The hotel has a beautiful design simplicity and is filled with great interior details from top to bottom. The location is also excellent, right in the center of the city. We never had to use any public transport but instead walked everywhere from and to the hotel. Highly recommended!

This is more of an industry issue than just Asgard Hotel, but the two single beds that were connected to make a double were just not very comfortable for a couple that likes to cuddle at night, but I would just make sure to book a room with a double bed next time.

The staff was great. Unlike the exterior, the interior was new and comfortable. To begin with, the city is not inconvenient at the level where you can get around on foot, but the best part is that it is close to the train station. We had an early train the next morning, but the proximity to the station made it easy and they were willing to accommodate our early check-out.

Nothing in particular, but I did notice the floor creaking a bit.

Most important for me: good beds (I regularly suffer from lower back issues) and a good shower. Next I very much liked the location, in the centre, walking distance to musea, restaurants. And lastly the Interior, tasteful. Overall much value for money.

Breakfast. The local products were great, however no “fresh” juice, boiled eggs were cold, coffee too low temperature. It missed the finishing touch for me that day. I rather would have skipped and enjoy a breakfast in any of the nearby places

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Very friendly and accommodating staff! Having dedicated parking was very useful for me as I travelled by car. I also really enjoyed the option to have breakfast at the hotel with a lovely selection of continental meats, cheeses, and bread, among other things.

The WI-FI could have been a little faster. However, I didn't really mind because I was there to explore the city and not surf the web or work in my room!

I walked past this hotel many times, as I used to live in Groningen, but this is the first time I stayed here. The room was large and clean. Big table as well, great for doing work

If there was a fridge in the room, it would have been perfect. The room rate for my stay was on the high side, but perhaps this was also because it's high season.

The room is beautiful with a great view of the Martini Tower. The hotel is located in a central area but on a quiet street. I forgot something in the room and got a call from reception only a few minutes after I left saying that housekeeping had found a pair of trousers. I was actually positively surprise that they reached out. :-)

The property is really nice, very good location, and very close both to the train station and the city center. had a great room with a huge terrace that had a great view of Emmaplain. Clean, comfy beds, kind staff.. all great!

The hotel is well located within a short walk from the centre! The staff is polite and friendly, the check in time short, and the room clean. The coffee machine in the room helps when you are in a rush for a proper breakfast 😉

The room was a bit cold, despite the radiators were at their max temperature.
