Little Gem Hotel Tulum La Veleta

Our Little Gem hotel however was good because Nestor and Dario from the front desk were great and gave us a very good service together with the cleaning lady! They were so helpful and kind, a big contrast with others we have met in Tulum. Everything was very clean, the pool, the rooms, the laundry etc. :) No question was too much and there was no tip chasing!

We did not like Tulum, like the city itself, very much because of the seaweeds and other environmental problems, corrupt police and waiters manipulating our bils, overpriced restaurants etc. The roads to the hotel are very bad and cannot follow the aggresive growth rate of tourist developments in Tulum...

The staff was so friendly, and every time I walked in, I was greeted by my first name. Nestor was amazing. He was so helpful and gave us a lot of recommendations of places to see in Tulum and restaurants to dine at. This place is truly a hidden gem. Once you walk through the door your transported to a little oasis. The rooms were very spacious and clean. It's quiet and relaxing with beautiful landscaping and decor. My friend and I had a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this little gem to anyone visiting Tulum! The prices are very reasonable as well for such an amazing spot! It is a good location to see the Mayan Ruins and it's about 20 minutes from the beach. They also have free bikes and atv and scooter rentals.

The roads that led to the hotel were not paved and have giant pot holes and were very bumpy! We had a rental car and I dreaded driving on the roads. But this isn't the hotels fault. The only other thing is that I wish the private "swimming pool" in our room was heated and more like a hot tub. The water was very cold. Neither of these things would stop me from staying here again. Still highly recommend this Gem!

The staff members were very kind and helpful. We really appreciated having them there! We also really loved that it was close enough to all the action and restaurants but still quiet. We really liked how small and intimate the hotel was and everyone was very respectful with noise levels. We are big foodies, so we loved having close access to so many great restaurants and cafes all within a 5-10 min walk.

The roads around the hotel were pretty rough, but luckily we didn’t have a rental car. Instead, we used the free bikes and an ATV which turned out to be all we needed.

We had the best time at Little Gem in La Veleta, Tulum. The Hotel was amazing, clean, intimate, quite, just beautiful. You can rent Bikes for free and everyday you get coffee and water. The staff is really just the best (during our stay, Alan and Nestor worked the reception the most, so shout out to them, but all the other staffmembers are equally great). If you need help or recommandations, just ask. Furthermore it is really nice to just have a conversation with them. If you don't like to stay in the hotel zone or downtown tulum, this is your place, because it is a little bit away from all the frenzy :) We hope we can come back soon.

Myself and my husband stayed here for three nights and talk about an absolute oasis. It is a hotel of only 9 rooms so it's lovely and quiet. The pool is gorgeous and the rooms and facilities are finished to such a high standard. Housekeeping do an amazing job at keeping it very clean. They did not change sheets and towels every day which we actually appreciated for environmental reasons but it felt like they did as the room was freshened and cleaned so well every day. Staff were very helpful with recommendations and organising a scooter rental for us which was dropped off and collected from the hotel. Couldn't have been easier! The place directly across the road does amazing breakfast ☺️

As has been said on other reviews it's in a very newly developed area so the roads are not finished and there are not many street lights at night so I felt a bit uneasy to go out on my own but really it is a safe area as very lush developments going up around.

Loved the hotel, it is very secluded so perhaps a bit difficult to find. There is no open door policy which gives you some extra security and only the people staying can open the front door. The room was pretty and modern, beds were good we had a nice shower (warm) and bath (cold). The hotel has free bicycles available and the pool had a good temperature.

The area around the hotel is one complete construction zone, they are building various new hotels. You will hear this. Also the road around the hotel is bumpy to say the least and only nice if you are into those kind of massages. The hotel is 20 minutes from the Tulum beach zone with bicycle, by car 8 minutes but know that in the beach zone you need to find a parking spot which is always paid and sometimes not easy to find.

Staff were the highlight. All were very responsive and helpful. Facilities were very clean. Appreciated having coffee, tea and water available. LOVED having bikes available at the hotel as part of our stay.

Roads all around the property were so rough and this impacted walks and bike rides. Surrounding environment was not very enjoyable. More information about the surrounding property would have been appreciated. We were a little nervous walking down the streets at night when there were no lights.

The hotel is beautiful and set in a wonderful neighbourhood. The bicycles are handy. I used them to get to the beach and restaurants etc, and didn’t need a car. There are also great eateries within walking distance. The reception staff are superb. It was lovely to meet you Nestor, Muyami and Alan. Thanks so much for your great hospitality.

This hotel is AMAZING! not only the hotel especially the staff. Dario, Ness, AR all of them are doing such a great job. They helped and organized everything we asked for even when we didnt ask they recommended great things to do, great partys, great restaurants. we loved it and have felt sooo amazing, like having a family there. Further, it is clean, the bed is sooo comfortable and the area is great, in front of the hotel is a small cafe with soo great breakfasr and coffe. If you want to enjoy Tulum, book a room in this hotel and you will feel the same way we felt - just GREAT!

great stylish design. the rooms are big and beds very comfortable. we liked our balcony over the pool and the fridge and complimentary water coffee tea and biscuits staff were very friendly and helpful.

the road ! the hotel is gorgeous but all around is a building site. the new construction all looks good and I’m sure it’s going to be stunning but the road is mud and boulders and hazardous to drive. no breakfast or restaurant at the hotel but there’s a lovely place just opposite. it’s a long walk to the beach - Tulum has grown huge and this is well set back but there are free bicycles which we loved
