Kuukum Tulum Hotel

We spent an incredible moments in this little jungle, the apartments are really beautiful and comfortable, every detail in the decoration transmits all the essence of Tulum. The pool on the rooftop with a wonderful view of the treetops. We enjoy a lot of privacy and tranquility, just what we need. Thanks to the Kuukum team!

The entire staff was super friendly. Sergio was there to guide me most days! He always had a sweet smile and gave me information to build my trip itinerary. Laura was amazing at communicating through WhatApp and helping me plan before and during my stay. They have bikes to rent for 12$ a day! Very close to downtown and the beach. Loved Kuukum for their jungle enclosed rooms. Wifi! And nice shower. Not too busy of a place so you feel secluded.

Still a developing area so expect some work! Really dark at night and confusing for the 1st few times coming in and out of the area.

The staff and hotel are amazing!! The rooms are beautiful decorated. Bed is amazing. Wifi works perfect. Sergio and Cesar (reception) are super nice and very helpul. They they did everything to assure I had an amazing stay. Kuukum is a new hotel with amazing facilities. Very clean, pool area is beautiful. They also have security there, so I felt very safe.

You should definately have a ride staying in Aldea Zama (location where the hotel is)/ Kuukum - downtown and Beach Area is few miles away.

We loved our stay here!! It was such a beautiful getaway for my partner and I. It felt like our own little oasis. It was quiet and calm, just what we were looking for. The service was incredible & the one meal we did have at the restaurant was delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has a car or means of transportation to The beach!

The beds were a tad bit on the tough side & if you don’t have a car it would be about a 20-30min bike to the beach each day, which was fun when we did it! We did have a car, so it worked out great.

The staff was definitely a highlight of our time at Kuukum. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. We definitely felt like we made friends by the time we left. They answered every question we had and got to know us during our time. The room was also great for the price. We had 2 floors including a full kitchen, living room, and 1.5 bathrooms. Made it easier when trying to work from the hotel so we could have our own space to take calls. It was also halfway between the central area and the beach. In some ways inconvenient because you're not super close to either of these main areas, but in other ways, this was nice because if we wanted to get into central, it was a quick bike ride and same for the beach. So it's a great place if you want to move between both areas.

WiFi was shaky when it rained. I also couldn't get much signal in the upstairs (although my friend was able to), but it is a different country with different infrastructure from the US, so I wasn't too surprised. For the overwhelming majority of the time, we were able to operate fine with the WiFi we had. Also, as other reviews said, there was a lingering moisture in the bedroom. Sometimes I would basically feel it was wet when laying on my bed. But it was tolerable and not a major issue

This is an amazing place to stay - really friendly staff and clean rooms. Tulum is of course located in the jungle so hard to keep clean from small bugs all the time but the pool was cleaned everyday and there was no problem asking staff to clean it again if it needed it in the afternoon. The breakfasts and lunches were among the best we ate all trip (and the food in Mexico overall is amazing!) so props to the chef! The staff were great at recommending spots for food/activities/hire etc. It is a little outside the center of Tulum but Kuukum offer bike rentals + scooters are quite cheap to rent also. We thought we had an issue with A/C but it was fixed really quickly (we were just being dumb)

No extractor in the bathroom but wasn't a huge issue as we had balcony to open.

The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The terrace with pool relaxing and nice to have. The Staff very helpful.

Absence of elevator, especially when you have roof apartments with terrace you dont enjoy all the stairs. Not suitable for older guests. The rental bikes are terrible, they are in very bad condition and its obivous that rental company doesnt service them at all. However they charge not a little for the rental. Changing for another provider is strongly recommended. The location is in the area, where is lots of constructions happening. If you would like to stay at the hotel during day, its very disturbing. Access to the hotel is limited by one road and the directions are quite confusing. (lots of roundbounds and one way roads with no logic order)

The room was spacious and had all the accoutrements necessary for a week long stay. WiFi worked perfectly for streaming and emails, etc. Everything was new and lovely materials. The maid service was excellent, and the front desk staff superlative. Lovely environment. The restaurant was AMAZING. Non-commercialized area.

Nothing in walking distance-no way to get even a snack without taking a taxi. No snack bar at the hotel-restaurant closed at 2:00.

We stayed at ground floor apartment with private pool. Room was really spacious, with kitchen and dining area equipped with all necessary amenities. Like in most places in Tulum, room is designed in boho style with a lot of attention to details. Upon our arrival, we were offered complimentary breakfast which was really tasty (go for avocado toast with poach eggs ! ) and plentiful. All the staff (front desk+restaurant+house keeping) was really professional, friendly and helpful. Hotel is located in Aldea Zama area which is new neighborhood still in development, and even though it’s not located at the beach, you can rent bicycles at the property and be at the beach in 10min.

We had issues with safe now working, however it was expressly fixed by staff.
