Mezcal Hostel

I liked the decoration, the gardens, the swimming pool, the guest's kitchen, the restaurant, bar, the attention to detail, the layout, the LOW music that didn't bother any time of the day and the location was amazing! Overall A VERY BEAUTIFUL hostel, comfortable with very friendly and helpful staff.

The mattress was a bit uncomfortable, not a really comfortable mattresses, all the pillows were very uncomfortable and they were bulking up and I had a lot of trouble to fall asleep because of this. The kitchen could be improved, it was poorly stocked up, needs a toaster, a blender, more knives, it only had ONE CUTTING KNIFE, the pans were old and dented, all would stick to them, the fridges weren't enough to store food for so many guests and staff. The shower head was blocked and had very little pressure, therefore very slow to shower and rinse.

Great vibe, super lovely decoration / design, spacious room, helpful staff, water for free, good location to explore downtown and also just a short distance to the next bus stop to the beach

quite badly soundproofed (like basically everywhere in MX), therefore one could hear everything going on outside, including any sit-ins outside (but only ever until 11pm max!) and loud staff chats from 8am onwards

I love hostel, but music they play all day on beach and restaurant was very annoying. Very loud and always techno music. From 11 am to 2 am next morning I could not enjoy beach in a quiet time at all.

- friendly staff - nice garden - free water - clean - good aircon The negative points should be very easy to solve!

- The WiFi is a catastrophe because it didnt work 80-90% of the time which is a no go in 2023 - They told me after my booking that their Bar is closed which is not honest because there is no possibility for free cancelling. This instruction propably comes from the management so its not the fault of the staff. I know there is another hostel with a Bar but its still not honest because many people want to have a Bar in their own hostel and then they cannot cancel for free. I personally didnt care but many people I talked to where disappointed so you should work on being more transparent if you have the goal to grow on making your guests happy.

great hostel facilities including kitchen, pool, lounging area and a tattoo shop. we had a big room, spacious and quiet. Aircon, toiletries and tv in the room. 15 mins walk to bus station.

the room was quite bare with minimal furnishings or decoration. it was also a bit dark as the curtains didn’t pull back properly.

Enigmatic is a beautiful hostel, adapted from a couple of elegant, older style 'colonial' buildings with palm trees and a jungle vibe. There's a pool, lots of tables and chairs, a massage suite and a tattoo parlour. Our 2nd floor room was bright, spacious, stylish, clean and given it's a hostel, relatively quiet. The staff were friendly, helpful & respectful. Special thanks to Emilio & Leonid. Enigmatic is situated in a salubrious neighbourhood, surrounded by some nice houses and a great selection of trendy restaurants nearby.

We moved to Enigmatic from the sister hostel, Nomads Rooftop, just down the road, so I could recover from a fever & infection. Our first room was on the ground floor and was very dark and ill-thought out with dim lighting, an aircon unit right above the bed and a fan that only worked when the light was on - but they kindly moved us next day to the superior room mentioned above. We felt the restaurant was no where near as good as the one in Nomads (smaller menu, no coffee after a certain time, fewer seats undercover when it rained, music nearly always too loud and cheesy (except for some great Bob Marley).

Location's good, close to the ADO station. There's an OXXO right around the corner and you can walk to the downtown area. Supermarkets/restaurants nearby. Nearest beach is about 25 minutes by public bus. The pool was nice, the dorm was great. Quiet, aircon 24/7, good water pressure, came out hot if you wanted it. Edgar was by far the best staff member there but they're all friendly. Facilities were good and you have access to 2 other Nomads hostels.

The kitchen could have been better but was still fine, the bar/restaurant was closed but you can still go to their party hostel which is really cool. Their WiFi sucks unless you're at reception or near it. In the dorm you pretty much have no internet. Other than that, I met dope people and liked the place. Would definitely recommend for single travelers that are looking for a quiet night but still be part of a social hostel. Book in advance through the site because the rates are far, far better. Don't do walk-ins. Trust me.

Amazing place! Very clean and well maintained. There's a Co-working space, a Pool, a Spa, a kitchen, Common Place to hangout, and excellent decor for some really amazing photos. The staff were very helpful and friendly. This is in walking distance from ADO Bus Station and just a stone throw away from Oxxo, the convenience store (where you can get anything - Food, Drinks, SIM Card, etc). If you're looking for a quiet place in Cancun with easy access to everything, look no further than this hostel.

If they had a laundry facility, it would have been even better. But there's a Laundromat very close by to the hostel, so that way, I'm not complaining.

The location is central. The property has many spots for chilling,doing work and socializing.

At the moment they are renovating the bar and resto, however you have access to the other Nomads not far from there.

I liked the room size and decoration. the common area are big and not in a common way so it felt like I had to orient myself when going from one common area to another or to the working room, or to the pool. Liked the ambiance, the facilities, the toilet, free towel, shaddow in the garden, etc.

a place to dry up clothes would be wonderful for small backpack travellers who wash often, even though i know there is a washing machine facility with dryer included for extra charge, other than that for me it was cool
