Krystal Grand Cancun

I liked the hotel and the location, but there is a ton of noise coming from the clubs about 500 meters away. They start at noon and continue until 3 am. So weather you are at the beach or in your room, the base is continuously. Had a city view room, but you can still see a bit of the ocean. It was very clean and spacious. Sometimes it had a weird smell. You can walk to all kinds of restaurants and the supermarket is nearby. The breakfast and dinner buffet are very good. Only had dinner once so not sure if it changes. They clean the beach every day from seaweed, but sometimes mother nature makes it hard for them to clean. Hotel has entertainment most nights.

Noise from the clubs. People bringing speakers to the beach mixing their music with music from the hotel and the clubs, so you just have Noise instead of music. Weird smell in the room

The location is great. The hotel is walking distance to downtown with clubs restaurants and stores. It is a pleasant 5-10 min walk. We stayed in the Altitude tower which is new, spacious and has good elevators. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. The sound of music from outside was an added bonus and created fun atmosphere. The staff was friendly. Altitude tower guests get to use the infinity pool. We did not use the other pools. The beach area was nice and there were less waves than other beaches since there is rock barrier on the left (we swam up to the rocks to look at cute tropical fish) . There was one day though when the waves were strong, So it depends on the day. The water is clear and turquoise color, awesome! We did not get all-inclusive option because we wanted to visit Xcaret and do other day trips. There are a few restaurants on the property and the food was good. Breakfast buffet was also good, but Altitude tower has room service also (not part of all-inclusive).

The wait time to be seated at the restaurants was long. You need to make a reservation, or, if there is availability, get a pager and wait, and still not know if/when you will get seated. It is hard to get a beach chair as they were all reserved by the time we got there. We traveled during Christmas/NY, so it may be different at other times. We just sat on the towels on the beach. Also, something was wrong with the bathroom ventilation in our hotel room.

We are experienced travelers - and we have something to compare. one of the big pluses of this hotel is the attention to the "little things": excellent expensive memory foam mattresses on the beds and good linen (good sleep is the most important aspect of the trip), a new convenient and understandable climate control setting in the room, daily unobtrusive cleaning and linen change , even the shaving mirror in the bathroom is not fogging, it is extremely convenient (I think no one likes it when the mirror sweats and you can’t see anything in it), a lot of delicious quality food and drinks in the restaurants and bars of the hotel, a huge and main plus is a great beach closed from big waves breakwater (ideal with children), excellent friendly and hard-working staff.

Of the small and easily eliminated shortcomings: you can increase the number of umbrellas on the beach - the area of ​​\u200b\u200bthe beach area allows, sometimes all the umbrellas were occupied, then: some kind of overly weak shower at the exit from the beach to wash off sand and sea water, for some reason there is no convenient ramp for children and wheelchairs at the main entrance to the hotel, when cleaning the rooms, it is worth pouring the usual blockage solvent into the bathroom sink (since sometimes the water left very badly), sometimes there was also a little garbage on the beach under the sunbeds under the umbrellas (it’s sometimes worth cleaning up with a rake there, apparently not just noticed this garbage).

The facilities and room were amazing with a wonderful view of the strip with a beautiful ocean view.

the uncomfortable sales "presentation" you are pushed to participate in. All I want is a vacation, not another work type setting or hard sales situation. This made passing this desk area uncomfortable. What the staff should do is inform people of the activities and things to do at the hotel instead of focusing on the sale. If the hotel wasnt so lovely I would rate this a 0!

Loved the staff and the resort was beautiful. The food was great.

They had 4 elevators and one was broke. It took forever at times to get it and then it would go down instead of up and we stayed on the 10th fl. It was also so hot in the building until you got to your room.

This is a really nice place. I am sure the low crowds have something to do with the positive vibe. The pools are nice, and the beach access is fantastic. The a-la carte restaurant is the best food place in the hotel. Great quesadillas. Check in was above average. We had Ocean View room and it didn't disappoint. Place was safe. Fee covid testing on site was fast, results in 10 minutes. Excellent breakfast. Room was quite. Great balcony.

You have to fight for anything extra. The reception will turn down any special requests and they make no effort to accommodate any special requests. They were kind of rude at times, and speak very fast. The whole time at this place no one ever asked if we wanted to do anything extra. We had to venture and seek some concierges on our own.. (those were great when we found them). Not all the elevators worked, so with limited capacity, the wait was long at times. Restaurant quality not so great. Very small portions.

Good price , nice room modern and perfect view of ocean and pool. Stand up shower rather then tub which i prefer.A perfect size resort and good size beach. This is a older hotel I remember the beautiful surrounding views now its surrounded-by monster hotels with tiny beaches. There are 3 adult pools 1 baby pool. Good size pools , Im all about the beach! Best ceviche at the pool bar and and not overpriced. We stayed 4 night and spent most of out time at the hotel pool and beach.

Not crowed but not enough staff for pool dinning. The ceviche was amazing but one afternoon I couldn’t order a thing.. we did mostly room service pizza was soggy not enough selection on the menu. The staff was wonderful but when I asked wear I could get a covid test a staff member kept pushing to get a massage. That was annoying! Seaweed seaweed everywhere!! One day the ocean was black with seaweed so we went to playa Langosta. The water is usually crystal clear bit it was a pretty green when the seaweed cleared.The hotel is blocks from a row of sleazy night clubs but I am mentioning things that the hotel has no control of . I miss the old Cancun with fewer hotels and lovely walks .

Location, the beach is the best. Set up at the beach and service is excellent. Ocean front room at the Altitude tower was very comfortable and wonderful. People at the check in desk were very nice and accommodating.

We had breakfast only reservation. There was coffee in the room the first day. Then, all the coffee makings and cups were removed . They wanted to charge for instant coffee you can make in the room. This is irritating and poor good will. Even inexpensive motels have complimentary, make in room coffee. Price we paid to stay there was not cheap. All inclusive does not work for us since we are not big drinkers.

We stayed in the brand new tower, which was simply fantastic in design and additional resort amenities. There’s a whole infinity pool designated for the tower’s guests, which meant our pool time was spent mostly away from the families and small children, which was more relaxing. They also had a complimentary happy hour at the lounge in the bottom floor of the tower for the tower’s guests, which we definitely enjoyed and found very relaxing. Also, it was conveniently located to walk to many activities in the heart of Cancun.

Due to Covid, I think there were still a few things that were not up to full speed. Food/Drink Service at the infinity pool was hit and miss, as it just seemed that the staff may have been a bit spread thin. (But the little bar’s happy hour service was top notch!) Overall, I think anything that was a “miss” was likely related to COVID restrictions- so we would definitely go back. Also, like nearly every resort in Cancun, they try to get you to sign up for a timeshare presentation. We just said no and that was it.

The staff was helpful and nice. Willing to assist always and with a smile. Super accommodating. The food at the reservation restaurants was really good for an all inclusive. The Mongolian fish at the Japanese restaurant was great!

I did not have hot water, not even warm water so I took cold showers my entire stay. There was alot of seaweed., but that's nature. Trying to sell the upgraded portion of the hotel, I hate when people try to sell you things when all you want to do is relax but I understand it's economically driven.
