Hotel Cervantes

I liked the location, a quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the historical center. There was a busy spot close by called Dos Templos which had convenient coffee shops and a subway station. The subway station that takes you to the central bus station is close by at the historical center plaza. I used it to get to the bus station to come back to Mexico City. The hotel is large and had a restaurant near the lobby.

The hotel description said the room had a safe, but there is none. A notice on the key folder said the hotel is not responsible for valuables unless they are put in the hotel safe. I always look for hotels with a safe in the room to lock up my passport, wallet, cash, etc. I took my stuff to the reception to put them in the hotel safe and was told there was no more space left. From the looks of it this place was an elegant hotel in its day. However the room was spacious but had a bathroom that was somewhat shabby from lack of maintenance.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The surrounding area was very vandalized (graffiti and boarded up) WiFi was down and had been for a while. Though the room was clean the bathroom had mold all along the ceiling boarder and the Wood flooring in the room was cracked and coming apart in some areas.

breakfast was good, location was perfect to walk around historical places and a lot of restaurants to enjoy traditional food, very close to downtown to several markets and places to have a great time. for sure will use this place again.

they don't have refrigerator but may be because you should enjoy everything fresh.

some of our rooms were a bit old and a dead cockroach was found in one of them when we arrived.

I like the hotel a lot,very clean and near to down town..food was good and cheap...we booked Lago Chapala tour and was great!!

The internet in the room was pretty bad

I really like the location is close to the centró,and the hotel offers tours around the city it is very fun and safe. 100% recommend it.😊

We had a street view there are 2 gay discos and 1 billiard hall all 3 open until 5am. Too noisy. Staff was helpful

There is a towel rack in the shower.my partner bashed his head on the rack. We are going to the doctor to see about his wound. When you enter the shower there are 2 sliding door you must squeeze around the opening then duck and twist. If you remove the towel rack there is several places in the bathroom to place it.
