Castelmar Hotel

It was absolutely beautiful! The decor, courtyard, pool 🥰The breakfast was great! The shower was the best I’ve had in a year of traveling! Lovely little balcony, comfy beds, perfect location (not too noisy compared with other places on this town), and the staff were super friendly! I enjoyed the 24 hour security, feels very safe! They also provided us with hot water for tea in the evening which a lot of places won’t, these little touches make all the difference!

Sadly, the Wi-Fi was not working during my visit and as I work online it was a big problem for me (I lost two days salary). The staff were wonderful and found me another room to work in which was great if not ideal. It also mean that Netflix didn’t work, and as my father is a pensioner, it bothered him a lot. They did offer us a different room (though we were too tired to change) so the staff definitely did their best to help, and sorted me a complimentary breakfast to apologize. They accidentally booked our 5:30am cab to the wrong place 🤦🏽‍♀️ luckily I realised so no big deal.

Beautiful hotel in great location. Staff were friendly kind and really helpful. My room was spacious, comfortable and clean. It's great to have the pool, I found it a very relaxing stay.

The brass band practice in the main square is really loud but only from about 8-9pm - I didn't mind it! If you're worried, there are rooms towards the back of the building, where you can't hear anything. The pool could have been cleaner, but otherwise great!

Very beautiful and authentic hotel in the city centre with lovely staff. Beautiful room with high ceiling and comfortable bed. Lots of water pressure in the shower! Also a nice pool to cool off and a lovely patio. There were many breakfast options to choose from (not included), both international and Mexican.

Small details but our air conditioning was quite loud (but was of course nice to have!) and there weren’t really curtains, so maybe wear ear plugs and a mask for sleeping ;)

This is a stunning hotel, a beautiful old building with all its original features intact. It's ideally situated for exploring the old parts of Campeche, and a couple of minutes from the seafront. The rooms are huge and have splendid doorways and traditional furniture. There are no internal windows, yet, oddly, this doesn't seem to matter and if you wish you can open the top half of your door onto the splendid courtyard. If you want authentic Spanish-influenced Mexico, this is it.

There were no fridges in the rooms, which considering the amount of space, was a pity. They could be hidden inside a black cabinet, or whatever, to keep the traditional look. The breakfast, served in the wonderful courtyard space, was indifferent.

Location cannot be better. The central Plaza Mayor and some museums are literally round the corner. The hotel has beautiful colonial style charm. The hotel provides laundry, good breakfast (to be paid extra) and a pool. The staff helped us to keep a place in the public parking in front of the hotel.

The pool is small, but anyway it is good to have it than not.

The doorman was very helpful in carrying our bags. The location is ideal for accessing the pedestrian street and the malecon. The building itself is very interesting with beautiful tile everywhere and tall ceilings. Our room didn't have a window, but that also made it quieter during the busy Carnival time. A convenient breakfast is available in the central patio for 4-6 $USD. There is free hotel parking across the street.

A little better ventilation in the room or more light.

Loved loved loved this hotel. Beautiful colonial building true to pictures. Very clean and everyone was super friendly and helpful. Location was ideal only 1 block from malecon w statue and 1block from lit city street w fun restaurants and bars. Has small pharmacy attached and convenient parking. Upstairs rooms have doors out to small balconies. Really enjoyed our stay & we will be back.

Internet not so good, but we had probs w internet all thru campeche and merida. Thick colonial walls means dont really hear neighbors but also wifi signal is weak.

The staff, the rooms, the position. Excellent parking opposite was free.

The breakfast was mediocre. Much better elsewhere. The pool was small but very welcome in the heat. The pool surroundings were ok but could have been improved easily.

The hotel courtyard is beautiful, and the staff at the front desk were helpful. The pool is small, but a great addition to the hotel, and there are a few lawn chairs with shade and sun during different parts of the day. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious, and the entire hotel was really quiet and peaceful. There were not any windows in the room, but that helped keep the temperatures cool and the ambiance quiet. There was an air conditioning unit and a ceiling fan to keep the room cool at night. The hotel offered breakfasts (not included in our reservation) at very reasonable prices: 60 pesos for a filling and well-rounded continental breakfast and 100 pesos for a cooked breakfast.

Nothing! We really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel building was beautifully restored. It holds a lot of history and is a real treasure. The staff were friendly and helpful and the private pool was a very nice quiet place to relax. Breakfast in the open courtyard was very stylish.

The bed could be more comfortable! It was a very hard mattress. The pillows were not great either!
