Hotel cleanliness, ambience. Rooms are comfortable.

The hotel management has to do something with their reception staff. This was my second stay in this hotel and again I had very bad experience with reception staff. My reason for choosing this hotel is its location which is convenient from my work location. This time, I didn't had any prior booking at this hotel, while on reception the offered rate was higher than what I got on Booking.com; hence, I booked it online and showed them my booking number. Despite having booking details available with me in hand, they made me wait for approx. 45 mins at the reception and from her (reception staff) behavior it was quite obvious that she was not happy me booking it through Booking.com and made several story which was totally unreasonable.

- Quiet/peaceful - there was a concert on the neighboring Carnivore grounds one night and I couldn’t hear a thing from inside my room - Clean facilities - Professional and friendly staff - Very blind out curtains - Big room with lots of storage - Room pricing was reasonable - Close to lots of places in Nairobi - Happy hour cocktails were good

- The food was a hit or miss for me, I had 3 meals from the a la carte menu while there and there was something not fresh enough in each, it wasn’t major enough for me to return the entire plate though. Disappointing considering a premium is charged on the food.

Nice sized rooms. You can always tell the cleanliness of a hotel by the stars of their bathrooms. This one has glass doors on both shower and lavatory..not a tacky shower curtain. The size of both is good but a little larger would be better as large guys like me struggle in average sized bathrooms. Beds were firm but not hard so you can get a good night's sleep. Air con works ! Internet has good speed here so that's useful.

No fridge in the room so if you bought something that needs preserving for a few days before you fly off and take it with you,well,you can't as the rooms do not have a mini fridge. I didn't use the pool, massage facilities so I can't comment on those.

Nice modern hotel at very good location. Next to Carnivore restaurant. They arrange you escorted walk through nice park to/from the hotel. Perfect to stay before the return flight.

They assured us that they will make reservation for us at Carnivore. Coming there there the restaurant could not find it. We asked for wake up call at 5 a.m. They did not woke us (fortunately we set also our clock, otherwise we could have problems with the flight), They are renting their premises for clients outside the hotel So in the afternoon there was a bithday party for a child at the pool. And there was another evnt in the evening.

Generally nice and friendly. Good restaurant staff. Food was average to good. Clean

Reception staff were rude to guests, esp the female staff. Note not all were unpleasant. They also in some occasions were obviously nicer to white skinned persons. We stayed for 10 days and observed it a few times. I did report it one day when an incident was just unacceptable- not directly to me but the guest before me and then I got the tail end of it! The Asian dishes in the menu require improvement. Otherwise food was acceptable. Nice breakfast choices.

The food here is fantastic, especially the oxtail soup. The hotel staff are really professional and helpful. They help us book the local tours. A 24-hour open coffee shop onsite is also very helpful. This hotel is close to Wilson Airport from where a majority of safari flights leave, so you avoid downtown traffic. However, it is located in Surburb next to busy road, so you can't really go out to have a walk.

The room is quite blank, business-like and a little depressed looking. It has an open bathroom without a door which offers zero privacy for fellow traveler.

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much for them. From the manager - Irene, to ask the front desk staff to the chef, bar and restaurant staff including security. It really was a pleasure returning to this hotel, where I had been last year. This time, I came with 10 people. Surprisingly, none had any complaints at all!!! 👌🏽👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

The Staff were so helpful, they woke me up at 2 AM to make sure I don't miss my flight and Oh most importantly, they helped when I forgot my bag in the hotel shuttle after I had already checked in at the airport. Monica (Receptionist) and Joseph (Shuttle Driver) were special, they were able to pass my forgotten bag before I took off, it was tight but they were truly excellent. I plan to stay at Tamarind Tree Hotel again just because of that experience!

Clean hotel with an eco-friendly approach. Staff both professional and friendly. Conveniently located next to Wilson Airport before or after a safari. Cannot say much more since we just had a nightover before a safari.

The fee for the Wilson-Shuttle is still 12 USD which is a stiff price regarding the fact that Wilson Airport is literally next to the hotel premises. A complimentary offer (maybe just for certain rooms/packages or repetitive guests) would be a nice little asset.

I like that the local area felt safe to explore. The staff were friendly and happy to help. I liked that Carnivore restaurant wasn’t far away and that we had an escort there from the hotel. we felt safe walking there in the dark because of this. The massage I had from Jane before my flight home was just what I needed. I’m glad the hotel provides this service. I’m looking forward to staying again when I return to Kenya.
