Sarova Panafric Hotel

It is a beautiful property with excellent rooms and a lovely breakfast restaurant. The Restaurant staff and the Housekeeping staff were very courteous. Wifi was strong in the room. I chose this property over several others and am very glad I chose it.

A small regret was that we didn't get 2 hours late checkout free of charge, but the bigger disappointment was about room service not bringing us plates and spoons for dinner despite making three calls to them over 2 hours. They finally brought them after we had finished dinner! (Maybe they were unhappy that we ordered food from outside). And, as we took a car from the hotel to get to the airport, we got a car that was filled with dust and could not operate the AC without pushing dust to our face! The car had been used for a game park visit and had not been cleaned! Not worth the $40 that we were charged!

The hotel is very clean and looms very nice. The staff is very friendly, respectful and always willing to help. The rooms are average level of luxury, but everything is clean and well arranged. The pool is spotless and the spa/gym area are spacious and big (although haven't tried the services. The hotel helps with on the spot tours and transport to and from the city if going out in the evenings. The food at the restaurant is delicious (had breakfast and dinner) and the service very good. I recommend it from the bottom of my heart!

The Sarova staff are all friendly and made my stay a fun one. Special thanks to Anthony in the bar for whipping up a late nite smoothy and providing wonderful discussions about life in Kenya. I learned so much on my trip, especially how to enjoy each day in a positive and appreciative manner. The Sunday brunch was amazing, foods from around the world made so well. The band playing at the pool was fantastic. They covered everything from Kenyan and Nigerian songs to Michael Jackson, Bob Marly, Stevie Wonder and Rihanna. A truly gifted group of musicians. I would gladly pay to hear them play again, especially if there was a dance floor. I loved the gym ! Great staff to assist in your workout. It was enjoyable riding the bike in front of an open window overlooking the pool. I love the fresh air. The grounds are beautiful, avocado trees, tall palms and hedges, beautiful flowers. You can take a stroll around the grounds and relax on the various benches provided for guests.

The breakfast buffet was really good but I should have included it in my booking. It was a little expensive, when purchased individually, compared to other restaurants in Nairobi. I much prefer an open window and fresh air, keeping the air-conditioning turned off whenever possible. It would be nice to have even a small window that opens with a screen to keep the bugs out. Guests were notified prior to booking of the ongoing construction upgrades, and there wasn't really much to complain about. It's nice to see ownership continuing to invest in the property, especially after the ridiculously long lockdown period that significantly reduced revenue across the hospitality sector.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Sometimes a little too attentive over breakfast that it got tricky having a conversation with regular check-ups. Still, better than not attentive. Everyone else was superb especially the lovely woman at reception (Adelia?) who very kindly gave us a tour of the new wing and rooms, taking time out of her morning.

The noise of the ongoing construction over the weekend was really disturbing. Breakfast was extremely costly and Sunday brunch whuch we were lookong forward to was inexplicably not available. Food on lunch menu was just OK, tuna poke bowl did not come in a bowl, tuna was cooked hard and dry, as was the rice and soybeans. A poorly executed dish especially for the price.

Nearly everything about this hotel was perfect for us, visiting family. It is a hop, skip and a jump from the centre of Nairobi but still away from the bustle of the city centre. The staff were unfailingly polite, efficient and friendly and the rooms comfortable without being flash. The toilet and shower room was very good with plenty of hot water whenever required. Our breakfast each day was good quality although we didn’t have occasion to eat in for dinner. The hotel appears to double up for tourists and the visiting business community; the pool area isn’t large but it was very pleasant for an hour or so at a time.

The lighting in the bedroom was effective rather than atmospheric. All the lighting comes from ceiling spotlights, providing excellent illumination; however there comes a time in my day, when I want to read a book in the light of a single bedside lamp and this was not possible. The light switches were also rather random/overly complicated.

The facilities were very clean and contemporary. The staff was always welcoming and helpful.

There appears to be some disorganization with the breakfast buffet staff. Sometimes, we had to reorder our eggs because we did not receive the original order. Friday night live music in the restaurant was way too loud to comfortably dine and hold a conversation with friends.

All the staff members were professional and hospitality was great, Felix, Monica, Nicodemus and the restaurant staff were very welcoming, I look forward to going back and recommending my family and friends.

That I couldn't stay longer, the food was also very good and affordable, the spa staff was also great, from the massage to the sauna and the steam bath was great

I had a noise issue with the standard room I had booked, and the hotel gave me an upgrade to one of the remodeled rooms which was quieter and much nicer. Overall the buffer breakfast was good,

The chefs preparing the eggs did an extremely poor job. How difficult is it to fry an egg well done? It's extremely difficult at this hotel and very disappointing considering the price for breakfast. It's more an issue of attitude than anything else and doesn't reflect well on a hotel of this caliber.

The facilities (gym, swimming pool, steam and sauna rooms) are very good, in particular the gym is big and with many machines including two new tapis roulant roulants. The room is very big and clean. The personnel very helpful and kind

The room is big, but it is a bit old, there are no double glasses. The shower is not closed by glass but by a curtains. The bathroom has no bidet.

Professional, friendly staff Safari and Nancy at the Flame Tree Restaurant are the best waiters I have encountered Charity and Maureen at the Reception are exceptional

The indian offerings on the menu at the Flame Tree Restaurant were bland - the Chef may need to be trained on how to prepare these
