It liked that I was able to experience how locals stay (as close as possible for a foreigner who has constraints.)

The walls and doors were thin. Though I understand it is part of the design of the house, this may have caused disturbances to other guests especially when my young child was having a tantrum. The window shields do not block the sunlight enough in the morning. Please add thicker shades. Staff was not available for queries most of the time, and I saw guests waiting for someone to help them out at multiple times near the reception. Maybe a phone no to reach them and a phone line in room will help. The bathroom was too small and my body was hitting against the walls whenever I try to move. For context, I am not the biggest in a room. Also the rooms was small and difficult to accommodate 3 people(2 adults and 1 kid).

Good location close to Main station, great greeting from Jacob, other recptionist not quite so friendly. Comfortable quiet room. Local sento just around corner for public bath. Nom nom 2 doors up for a quick breakfast.

Booking.com is incorrect. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS its strictly cash or paypay. Could catch some people out. Sink in shower not a big deal BUT same tap works tap and shower, turn sink off too far and you may get unexpected shower-beware. They offer complimentary bikes, but its impossible these days to park them anywhere near the main attractions. Making them useless.

It was close to Kyoto Station, so easy to access transportation to all major attractions and close to Aeon Mall which had lots of shopping options and a food court. The room was clean and comfortable and staff was kind and helpful.

Since you have to insert your key into the slot to start the power when you arrive in your room, it was very hot until the AC was able to cool it down which took a little while. But this seemed common as another hotel of ours had a key slot for power too.

The rooms were tidy and for the space given quite comfortable.. especially the Futons, I was able to get a good night’s rest. Although the walls of the rooms were said to be rather thin, I haven’t had a problem with any noise from other guests or similar.. The owner / host was very welcoming, charismatic and up for a small chat when we crossed ways.. so I felt quite at home to be honest :) The baths are rather small but for me personally big enough. I was also able to get some laundry done, for what I was quite grateful for ..

Nothing really ..

I loved my stay at this Ryokan. It was my first time at a ryokan while living in Japan. The room I had was very cozy. The staff was very nice and friendly. The location is great being that it was a simple short walk away from the station. I do recommend this Ryokan if you want a nice stay near the station, the location allows you the opportunity to explore the city.

The room had no real major problems. My fridge defrosted though when I was out. I'm sure this is a rare problem that just happened randomly, the room was very nice in every other way.

I was able to check in early (my room wasnt ready yet) and receive my room key which helped since I didn't return until after hours. Manager spoke some English but he had a translating device for the few times we struggled to understand each other. You can purchase the yukata! As the description mentioned, meals are not included. An easy walk to the JR Kyoto station and the mall.

The deluxe room was large and cosy for two people. The location is very quite, but still within 10 minutes from the central train station and the bus stop. Breakfast can taken just 50 meters away for a very convenient price. The Ryokan has a small smoking area available for guests. Last but not least: the staff support has been really excellent.

Ideal location to catch a train or bus, in a quiet and charming neighbourhood. Nights were peaceful and it was nice to stay in a traditional setting. Yukata were added to our room, this was a nice gesture and nice experience (note; not to be taken home!). Very friendly welcome on our arrival.

Smallish table to dine. Common area/entrance was tiny.

Great location close to the station. Friendly English speaking staff who are very helpful with suggestions for local spots too. Although it was a small Ryokan, the room was perfect size for the 3 of us. No complaints here as we only stayed for 1 night.

The bathroom was a little small for my tall friend but other than that, it wasn't too bad.
