This is an excellent place to pick up while staying in Kyoto, but I wouldn't stay in the same area again. 1) Location: while traveling with Family location is key and even if this property is super well located (side by side to Kyoto station), due to Kyotos public transport infrastructure, my suggestion would be to pick a place closer to Yasaka Temple. 2) Rooms & equipment: rooms are extremely spacious for Japan's standards and that was a bless; they are well equipped with kitchenettes (no small oven though), comfy beds, BIG table/dining area, tidy and clean. 3) Staff and services: - There is a Laundry within the property and that worked fine. - It included a daily swap of towels and basic room cleanup (not standard in Japan). - Staff were 10/10!! 4) Overall, I felt like the price was a little higher than what the area could provide, yet again it was super well-located and spacious.
The price could probably be a little bit better.

We stayed in a Pokemon room for two nights and it was really cute! The giant Snorlax was the best, and the themed decor was great. The room is very comfortable and the largest room we had in Japan. It was also quiet, which was surprising given it's right across the road from the main train station. The strength of this hotel is the staff. They are amazing! Incredibly friendly and thoughtful, and when we said we were going to rural Kyoto to see lanterns in the snow, they provided us with some hand warmers in case we got cold. We never even thought of hand warmers! As a side note, I never tired of seeing the Shinkansen coming past!
The room, while comfortable, is a bit dated and tired. We could smell mildew in the bathroom, which was also very cold. Nothing major, but for a premium room we were a bit surprised. We would still stay here again though.

Convenient location near Kyoto Station, Bus to Kiyomizu-dera is right round the corner (make sure you catch time departure time). Well equipped rooms, wasn't lacking in any way. Close to a shopping mall with Don Quijote to get stuff. We had 7 people in 2 connecting rooms, could take another 3 if we used all the beds and 2 sofa beds. Make sure you exit on the correct side of Kyoto Station, else could be a long walk when the shops close and you are unable to cut across the malls in kyoto station to get to the other side.
Limited washer and dryer available, need to hang around to collect the clothes. Staff helped to take them out so the other guests can use the washers though. Think the dryers in higher demand.

From the moment I stepped off the airport bus, it was a relief to see the hotel just a stone’s throw away. The proximity to these transport links allowed me to maximize my time exploring the city without the worry of long commutes or navigating complex transit routes. The ease of hopping on the metro for a quick jaunt to various neighborhoods, or catching a train for a day trip out of the city, truly made my experience at [Hotel Name] stand out. This hotel is a top recommendation for anyone who values convenience and accessibility.
The hotel would benefit greatly from offering a meal reservation service for guests. As a traveler who is not fluent in the local language, I found it challenging to book tables at restaurants. A service like this could help bridge the language gap and make dining experiences more accessible for guests.

We chose this hotel because of the Pokémon theme room and it is very closed to the Kyoto train station. Our little girl was so happy when she walked into the room. The room was spacious for 3 of us. Staffs were extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Anh and Maya, their services were above and beyond. With the short noticed, they were able to assist us to book the kimonos rental for our family and gave us suggestions on where to go with the less crowded and perfect locations to take our photos. They even made a memory booklet for us! 😊 We enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful memories. We will definitely go back and stay there again for the next time we visit Kyoto.
It’s not easy to adjust the hot/cold water in the bathtub/shower.

Staff: excellent, professional, welcoming and very helpful staff. Location: a few minutes to Kyoto’s main station. There’s Aeon mall nearby. Convenience stores are around the corner. There are a plenty of restaurants at Kyoto station. Room: our room was spacious and over looking the station. Despite being in front of the station, it is very quiet in the room due to the double-glass windows. The room has everything you might need. Other items can be rented from the front desk. The hotel helped us to transfer our luggage to our next destination. Overall: it’s a very nice hotel that’s located at a great location.
None.

Very close to the station, quite accessible. Perfect for a young family. It’s very spacious and well appointed. We had a grandmother and 3 kids stay with us, total of 6. So we needed the room to be comfortable. The staff were exceptional and friendly.
As nice as it is, and I do think we managed to reserve one of the more spacious places in Kyoto for our group of 6, it was expensive and more than I wanted to spend for 2 nights. It was however a very weekend with many domestic tourists visiting for the national holiday and I would assume that everywhere had put their prices up.

The location is very close to Kyoto Station with tons of shopping and restaurants nearby. The room we had was roomy, spotless and had everything we needed. We particularly appreciated having a microwave to heat up food. The comforters were thick and fluff. The water pressure was great at the shower. Although we never had to wait long for the elevator, we enjoyed walking down the stairs from our eighth floor to the ground floor (didn't take the stairs to go up though =) All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, especially Anh at the front desk who is an absolute sweetheart. She answered many questions and helped us with having our luggage shipped to the airport with professionalism and always a smile. She is the icing on the cake of our great stay at Mimaru Kyoto Station.
Just a minor inconvenience - Tried to catch a taxi in front of the hotel but simply weren't any passing by. We ended up walking to the bus station (which is in front of the train station) to get to where we need to go.

Great location, right next to the station but with none of the noise. Kyoto isn’t great for public transport so being so close to the main hub was key. Mac and Yuko were particularly helpful to us. They sorted out taxis, they made recommendations to us on where to go as we only had 1.5 days in Kyoto. Their restaurant recommendations were excellent too. This is our 2nd Mimaru stay having spent 4 nights in a Mimaru in Tokyo. The room layout, the space, the washing facilities, the cleanliness have been excellent. Our kids are 16yo and 13yo so to stay in one room together and say all that shows how great Mimaru’s are.
Nothing. It was all great.

It is very convenient - opposite Kyoto Station. Once you figured out where the East exit is, you will be set for the rest of your stay. It is also opposite the Airport limousine bus to Kansai airport. The rooms were good sized, the interior of the rooms were clean. Service staff spoke good English and were polite and friendly. Good bathroom and kitchen space. Everything works. Amenities provided at the lobby if you needed.
The baggage storage fee of ¥500 per luggage that is kept after 3pm on your day of check out. Generally, if people have a later flight, they will probably pick their luggage up at 5 or 6pm. The additional cost per luggage especially at the end of a great stay just leaves a bitter note which is needless. Doesn’t cost much to the hotel and you should certainly reconsider imposing this charge. First time I’ve encountered this in my years of travel. The stairwell at the higher floors have many cobwebs and dust when looking outwards. Not an issue since most do not take the stairs. Only an eye sore when you wait for the single lift.
