Hotel Continental

Rarely have I encountered such a lovely place. Everything was so perfectly accomplished. The hotel itself is lovely. Well located. Then there is the staff; each and every one of them I’m quite certain was there just to make my stay perfect. Breakfast was a dream. Thankfully we had six mornings to be able to experience it all. To describe it would be impossible, but for an idea, there was a table with perhaps ten porcelain honey pots, each from a different plant or fruit. Phenomenal! Our room was lovely, well furnished, bed cozy, and there were bathrobes. I may never return to Naples, but the Hotel Continental will remain in my memory as one of the, if not the, most wonderful hotels where I have stayed.

Breakfast was so much choice and greeted by a beautiful piano playing, the food choices for lunch and dinner were fantastic the roof top bar was incredible and we loved enjoying cocktails on the terrace the views were beautiful.

Not what I didn’t like but just a tip - check the prices of restaurant before you book we didn’t and although the experience was lovely it was very over priced for what you get sorrento has lots of restaurants on offer with more authentic food which we enjoyed more.

Our room was lovely and opened out to an interior balcony, with steps leading to a huge private roof terrace -- unexpected and much enjoyed by us. The hotel breakfast room was elegant and the breakfast buffet was over-the-top in the number of delicious foods on offer. The rooftop bar, though expensive, offered the most sublime views of the Bay -- and there were also amazing views from seats on the front balconies just off the lobby. Everyone at the hotel was exceptionally professional and helpful. But, without a doubt, my favorite thing was taking the elevator down to level -3 and popping out to the beach club at the bottom of the cliff. I loved swimming in the clean, clear Mediterranean Sea -- and being at the Hotel Continental made that so easy!

We stayed at other places in Italy where they didn't heat their outdoor pools -- so the unheated pool at the Hotel Continental was not a big surprise. What was surprising was to find that the beautifully designed hot tub was full of freezing cold water. A big disappointment, especially after everything else there was so perfect!

Lovely hotel, comfortable sun loungers on at the pool,. rooftop bar is a must, private beach and lift to the beach is a bonus! the hotel is central and close to everything, great views over the sea. huge variety of breakfast (prosecco included!) and staff are amazing. they have a spa that you can use privately too (paid for but nice if you have extra time on a day the weather isn't great) staff come round in the evening with an information sheet which states the weather the next day and bring you chocolates which was nice. they also set us up a breakfast bag for our early flight home the next morning.

not a huge issue, but there wasn't enough basic facilities in the room such as a coffee machine. we were paying for room service in the mornings

The staff were incredible, they went above and beyond for us, always ensuring we were enjoying our stay. The pool was fab and not too busy at any point. The food was amazing. We had food by the pool and on the terrace one evening both fab! It was meant to rain one day so we booked massages in the hotel spa and it was the best massage I've ever gotten and I've been to some very expensive Spas. They fit us in on short notice also.We booked our trips through the hotel and everything went perfectly. Reception staff always had a big hello and smile for us!

Hotel advertises its own access to Leonellis beach, however this is just free access to the area. You then have to pay 16 euro each per lounge chair and 3.50 euro per towel (not allowed to use the hotels) and it’s really the only option as there’s nowhere on the beach/pier you can lie down without a lounge chair. Bit of a shame when most hotels with a specific beach access normally have an allocation of their own loungers for their guests.

The breakfast was really good and had so many great options. The location was beautiful. We didn't really have a view from our room, but the balcony was great. The staff was wonderful and so very helpful. Everyone was courteous and welcoming. The room was good and I loved that it was a full bathroom with a tub. The park and views out the front of the hotel were amazing. The hotel was close to everything but out of the main stream. The food was great!

The school located so close. It was very busy in the morning and afternoon, on the weekdays, and there were teens hanging out all over the place at those times. It wasn't a huge deal, they weren't overly rude or disruptive, but it was a little off putting. Best to avoid those times if possible.

Excellent location and amenities. Great rooftop bar with amazing views. The swimming pool is also very good and there is a jacuzzi surrounded by lemon trees for relaxing. The staff were great, really enjoyed staying at this hotel.

There is access to a very small beach but it’s not part of the hotel, it’s not great for swimming and you have to pay for seats there. I would recommend going to another beach for swimming.

I cannot rate this hotel too highly. every member of staff we met was a compliment to the hotel but the Restaurent team especially were absolutely fabulous brilliant stay

the only thing that might be useful for the hotel to know was that our room was next to one used by heavy smokers. when they sat on their balcony to smoke (all the time) we were forced inside abd closed our balcony doors maybe the hotel could ask if bookings were for smokers and not put non smokers next door

Location was outstanding. Ideal. Away from car and most foot traffic but within minutes of wherever you wanted to walk. The view was incredible - a postcard. The Wagner suite was bright and happy and perfectly Sorrento. The bed was comfortable. Late April was a perfect time to be there because we could have the balcony doors open with the cool breeze without bugs! And the breakfast. The BREAKFAST!! The team working the breakfast was so helpful and nice, and the food was so varied and all delicious!! We never needed lunch because the breakfast was so extensive! That carrot, lemon and orange juice mix was the best juice I've ever had - equal to fresh pineapple juice in Hawaii. The coffee was excellent. Just the best way to start the day.

Leaving. (If you don't bring ear plugs, you may not like the sounds of the happy wine-filled people talking and singing and such outside at night in the park below. We brought ear plugs.)
