Grand Hotel Flora

Its a lovely city hotel with a beautiful big entrance hall. You can see the cristal chandeliers, the piano,.. Charming but not overwhelming charming. On the little details you definitely notice that this hotel is well kept for his age. They have a big swimming pool in city centre of Sorrento. Security of hotel is very concerned about your safety. Excellent service at reception from Marco. Very welcoming. Staff is helping with luggage etc Also the bartender lady Michel knows how to make you feel comfortable. She has knowledge of amazing cocktails and her Italian coll is also very helpful (forgot name) The room was clean and had good air-conditioning. Excellent location as you can take easily cash next to the hotel. Also police station, bus, train, marina boat taxi is very easy to reach, rental car, moto...parking space in front of the hotel. Until next year!

You can hear noise from the hall in your room. During breakfast No option for fresh orange, lemon juice, coffee. Also tables are to near to each and other ( sitting close to other customers)

This beautiful building is handy for the centre of Sorrento (without actually being there). It has a magnificent pool and many helpful and friendly staff. It attracts large tour groups who all need to have breakfast at the same unearthly hours and deals with them expertly. They also give a very good impression of knowing and liking you after one meeting, which is comforting and welcoming. Rooms are large and comfortable with fittings that entirely serve their purpose even if not installed yesterday. Indeed the hotel has maintained the air of luxury it had in the fifties with no need for excessive modernisation. It is very comfortable and relaxing. I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

The beds were on the hard side and took a couple of days to get used to. The two lifts sometimes took a while to deliver you to the required floor, if a big group was moving around. Only a problem if you had a transfer waiting.

The location was perfect, around a 10 minute walk to the centre. The hotel pool was a good size and plenty of loungers. Our room was a good size and had everything we needed plus two balcony’s. The hotel had a bar, entertainment and everything we needed for our 2 night stay. I would recommend for long stays also.

The room was a little dated, meaning the bed was a little hard and the decor wasn’t great. The shower was not the best but did the job. If I was to be picky, the walls were a little thin, I could hear someone going to the toilet. But nothing that made our stay bad.

Lovely, traditional decor, very Italian style. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection and super efficient and friendly wait staff. Our room was a little small but entirely adequate with a great balcony overlooking the pool. It was spotlessly clean and attended to daily. The pool area is fab, big pool, lots of loungers. Great undercover bar/ pool Cafe area with excellent food. Good menu, good value prices and super food. Once again the staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. The outdoor area was very clean, quiet and private despite the hotel being on a busy road. We had a lovely stay and would happily recommend to anyone

Tiny criticism - Tv could've been larger with more English channels. Nothing really to fault.

The room was large and clean, we had a terrace with a table and two chairs, with a very beautiful view! The bed was large and comfortable, clean sheets and towels, good shower, a desk, chairs, there was plenty of space to deposit our things, a safe, large windows with natural light. The staff was polite and very helpful. The breakfast was great, rich in options and the staff was very friendly - and a brilliant panoramic view on the 5th floor. The location is quite close to the center, a short 10 min walk, 20 minutes to reach the port. Very safe area with plenty of shops.

It was very expensive if you're staying just for sleeping. (if you enjoy the pool and other things, then I guess it's ok) The bathroom had a cracked toilet seat, the shower cabin was a bit small and its floor was dirty. The AC works well, but it cannot be controlled from the room (you have to call the reception to make changes, it's a central system), so it's extra work. The design of the room is very classic.

Breakfast was ok…. I thought the use of canned eggs was not a good choice….

Restaurant was horrible!!!!

The room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was very tasty. Fresh coffee instead of machine would be better. The breakfast staff were very accommodating and friendly. The view from the breakfast room is amazing

The room was in the front of the hotel and the road was very noisy. The view wasn’t brilliant as overlooked a petrol station. The reception staff were not particularly friendly. The carried on conversations between themselves when I was waiting to ask questions. Could be more friendly and approachable.

The hotel is beautiful, centrally located to lots of restaurants and shops. We walked a few minutes to the marketplace with tons of shopping, restaurants, eateries, desert shops, gelato shops and bars.

You can’t control the air conditioning, you need to call the front desk because they control it. At night we tried calling front desk because we were cold and could not get through … dialed “9” no ring, dialed “0” no ring … in the morning I asked and was told to dial “900”. It should be noted on phone how to reach reception.

A superbly located and well equipped hotel, we loved our stay there! Amazing view of sea, Vesuvius, lemon groves entertwined with vineyards, very friendly and professional service, rooms are mega conformable, bar/ restaurant by pool excellent & good value. Breakfast amazing, choice of full English cooked breakfast, wide choice of fresh produce including smoked salmon, fruit, pastries, cereals etc., jaw dropping view of sea & Vesuvius. Can highly recommend!

We loved all of it, very chilled atmosphere too, no negative points.

Overall a lovely hotel, great facilities, excellent food, very good level of comfort, wonderful staff, especially in the breakfast restaurant! Fabulous pool and wonderful views from the rear of the hotel towards Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples.

A bit noisy as it’s close to the main road, but that was compensated for by the overall level of comfort and service!
