Massimo Plaza Hotel

Unbeatable location opposite Teatro Massimo, which put us within walking distance of most key Palermo sights and lots of restaurant choices. Staff were really helpful on check in and for arranging transport to the ferry. Breakfast arrangements were personalised nicely. Room had a balcony looking out to the Teatro, so we had breakfast on this one morning, which was a nice touch.

Noise from musicians straight outside - typically ended by 11pm though. Entrance up stairs requires some lugging of bags.

The staff were lovely - helped with anything I needed from Laundromat location to good restaurant. I felt very welcome & cared for. My departure taxi was a bit late & reception chhecked up on it without me even asking! Nice breakfast selection - both savory & sweet. Only downside - strawberries moldy once. I would definitely stay again & recommend highly. Central to everything & surrounded by great restaurants- spoiled for choice!

Only the bad strawberries - all else was great. Bit noisy but you are right next to Teatro di Massimo.

We recently spent two nights at the Massimo Plaza Hotel. We have previously stayed at the hotel and found that it was as good as ever. The situation of the hotel is excellent, in a pedestrian area and close to many restaurants and bars. It is also within walking distance of many of the sights in Palermo as well as the shopping area. We were impressed by the staff who were, without exception, friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable, which contributed to a wonderful stay. We hope to return again in the future.

Location is great on via Maqueda just opposite Teatro Massimo, a lively area full of people, shops, bars and restaurants. Room and bathroom were comfortable and well equipped. Staff was attentive at all times.

There is no a breakfast area, so it is served in your own room. You should select the ingredients previously and it is served at the scheduled time. Booking rates it as a four-star hotel, but the outside board indicates a three-star one. I guess it needs a restyling to get more character or charm.

The location of this small hotel opposite the opera house with stunning view was excellent, so the majority of sights were within walking distance. Good local restaurants and bars also. The hotel is located in a pedestrian free zone, so no cars! The buzz of Palermo was on our doorstep. Francesca and Jenny at reception were extremely helpful with suggestions as to what to see, restaurants and directions. An excellent breakfast and coffee in the room was a pleasant surprise.

The location was perfect for visiting key galleries and churches - and close to great shops and cafes. Plus the late check out was a real bonus for us as we had an afternoon flight to Rome. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We arrived early and we were able to leave our luggage and explore and come back to check in.

The location was incredible and the balcony room was amazing with a view right over the opera house! The location couldn't have been better and was walkable to everything we wanted to see and do in Palermo. The room was super spacious and had a classic feel with character. The breakfast was great too and they brought it to our room. The staff followed corona rules and there were lots of hand gel stations. I'd recommend friends and family to stay there if they are ever visiting Palermo.

Minor gripe was the coffee machine didn't work and still had remnants of old coffee from previous guests which hadn't been cleared out.

Location excellent. Car transfers excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean facilities. Quiet room.

Solely that the decoration was a little tired. For example paint peeling a little at the base of the shower, a hairline crack in the sink. The carpet was clean but wearing.

Location is great. Rooms are fine, but I'm pretty sure we didn't get the better room we had reserved. Staff was very helpful with information and making calls to track down where to get a Covid test for our return trip since their regular place that does house calls was on vacation.

It's a small hotel on the second (U.S.) floor of the building. No elevator and no bell staff (at least when we arrived) to help with luggage.

Francesca and Christian were outstanding. Very professional and extremely helpful.

The hotel faces the Opera House which seems to gather a large crowd of people and extremely busy street for people to walk. The only issue we had was the noise. Even though the window glass is thick and cut down the noise factor, still very loud.
