Irina from Germany is a very friendly and communicative owner and manager, who makes one feel welcome. The room was spacious, the large bed was comfortable, the shower functioned well and there were two wash basins next to each other. No problem with A/C and WiFi. Breakfast, served by Irina was fine and the dinner - with her husband Arcangelo and their son Gianluca as chefs - is of a very high class in every respect.

From the room there are beautiful views over mountains and the nearby church tower, but unfortunately only with open windows (not recommended for a long time in winter) due to fixed curtains. We discussed it with Irina and she knows about it, saying that the previous roll-up curtains always got damaged.

Villa Giade is a newly renovated building which manages to combine historic charme with modern amenities. It is situated very close to the old town of Chiavenna, easy to walk even for my over 80 years old mother. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed, the view from the rooms at the back of the house leads over a lovely yard and upwards to the castle of Chiavenna. The food is excellent, even the breakfast, which is much better than the standard Italian coffee and croissant. But the Villa Giade truly shines with lunch and dinner, make sure to reserve a table! From the amuse bouche over starters, pasta, main courses to dessert, we loved everything. The home made butter and bread where also exceptional.

There is no parking place. That is not a huge problem, because a public and free parking place is very close (maybe 3 minutes walk)

Location is very good, in the heart of the historic Chiavenna. The staff is the best you can dream about. Irina, the owner, is very friendly, helpful and always at assistance. Breakfast is vey nice and we had a delicious tasting dinner! An absolutely "come again"!

Perhaps a small gym would have been nice (for the rainy days...).

The bathrooms are very "modern" and do not have a proper door - only a glass one at least in the junior suite. So with us being 3 people in the room, while one was taking a shower, the other ones had to look away.

Great place to relax, eat, talk, stay and feel good. Splendid old house renovated to a contemporary architecture inside, big and comfortable room, well equipped and stylish bathroom, wooden floors, nice bed. Extraordinary breakfast with local products, home-made bread in a cosy restaurant. Look for local wines and an exquisit menue. Situated near to the old city beneath the faboulus Botanical Gardens. Family led, personal, professional.

design, attitude, facilities, location, etc. all is absolutely well managed and positive. breakfast is served on the resto area which is has superb design and views to the mountains and innergarden via panoramic windows. no doubt best combination between comfort, function, quality and taste :)

It was a wonderful family owned B&B where we were welcomed by the hostess Irina. we really enjoyed our stay, especially the dinner by Arcangelo in the beautiful courtyard. every single dish was thoughtfully planned, you could literally feel the passion he has for food.

Perfect location ! Super friendly staf , nice modern cosy rooms and we had great food!

The rooms are not wel sound isolated , so take earplugs with you! And not enough clothing hangers in the room. For the rest everything was great! We definitely will be coming back!
